The Speaker Federal House of Representative,
Yakubu Dogara on Saturday received about
10,000 supporters of the All Progressives
Congress, APC, who declared support for the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bununu, Bauchi
State
Dogara said among the defectors were Dass,
Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro APC executives,
wards executives; including their supporters that
cut across the three LGAs.
The Speaker explained that poverty, lack of
internal democracy and political will to improve
people life informed the defectors’ decision to
dumped APC for PDP.
“Today’s occasion marks a turning point of our
genuine desire to wrestle power from APC with
the defection of about 10,000 APC supporters to
PDP ahead of 2019 election in my constituency
despite all the intimidation from the ruling party,â€
said Dogara.
The Speaker added that the decampees came at
the right time when Nigerians were joining forces
to ouster President Buhari and Governor
Mohammed Abubakar from seats of power.
“Honestly, APC is already in palpable fear of
losing the 2019 election; that is why they have
recruited INEC and security agencies to rob voters
through rigging. However, don’t go home after
casting your votes,†Dogara warned the youths.
Lawan Kafi, leader of the defectors said they
dumped the APC following its perpetual doom and
failure to give good governance in line with its
chance mantra.
Kafi further stressed that the giant strides of
Speaker Dogora also informed their defection to
join the PDP.
“Today, we have declared for PDP to give support
for the victory of Atiku, Mohammed Bala and
speaker Dogara ahead of the election,†added
Kafi.
He urged Nigerians not to be deceived by the
antics of PDP and vote out APC from power.
