The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Saturday in Benin, Edo State, met with Christian leaders behind closed doors.
Oshinbajo was in Benin for the inauguration of Tradermoni and other engagements in the state.
The meeting was held at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, along Airport Road.
Matters discussed at the meeting was, however, kept secret as the number two citizen did not brief journalists on what transpired.
The Vice President arrived at the venue of the meeting about 12:33pm in company with Governor Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy, Phillip Shaibu and the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie.
Present at the meeting were the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Oyonude Kure, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Rev. Felix Omobude, representatives of the Catholic Church, Arch Bishop of Benin, Rev. Fr. Richard Ofere.
Others included the Presiding Bishop of Church of God Mission, Arch Bishop Margret Idahosa, Margaret Agbonifo of the Family Intercessory Ministries.
The Vice President is also expected to inaugurate the Benin-Abraka Road and to launch Tradermoni in Ekiosa and Oba markets.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, the State Chairman of CAN, Bishop Oyonude Kure, said that their responsibility as clergymen is to continue to pray for candidates in the coming election.
Kure, however, kept mute when asked by journalists if the Vice President solicited their support for victory in the election.
He said, “Our responsibility is to pray for those who are contesting, which we have done.â€
