Chelsea’s need for a new
number nine
At just over the halfway point in the 2018/19
season, it is clear Chelsea need a new striker.
Olivier Giroud has scored just one league goal for
Chelsea this campaign and is simply not good
enough.
Alvaro Morata has also struggled for form this
season although the Spaniard has scored five
league goals compared to Giroud’s one.
However, Morata looks to be edging close to a
Stamford Bridge exit this January.
Sevilla are said to be keen on Morata, while
Atletico Madrid are also seemingly stepping up
their interest in the Chelsea forward.
