Super Falcons recently back from four- Nation
tournament in China; have received their promised
appearance fee. Sportinglife.ng gathered that
each the 23 players that took part in the
championship got $600 cumulatively $13800
(about N5.1million)
The prompt payment of the appearance fee we
further gathered is aimed at motivating them on
one hand and maintaining high spirit as the team
continues to shape up for the world cup in
France.

Cyprus Women’s Cup billed for February 25 to
March 7. Twelve nations will participate in the
Cyprus event.
AfCON 2018 Champions and finalists South Africa
are squaring up against other invitees Czech
Republic, Finland, Korea DPR, Hungary, Italy,
Austria, Belgium, Thailand, Slovakia and Mexico.
The teams have been drawn into three groups
with Nigeria pitched against Australia, Belgium
and Slovakia in Group C while South Africa will
face Czech Republic, Finland and Korea DPR in
Group A. Group B has Hungary, Italy, Mexico and
Thailand.
The tournament will take place in three cities of
Nicosia, Larnaca and Paralimni. The Cyprus
invitational which made its debut 2008 has seen
Canada win three times, France twice, England
three times; While Austria, Switzerland and Spain
have won the tournament once.
While the Super Falcons are attending the Cyprus
women’s international tournament for the first
time, Banyana Bayana will be making their
seventh appearance after finishing sixth in the
2018 edition that was won by Spain.
