Maurizio Sarri has launched a withering attack
on his players after the shock 4-0 defeat to
Bournemouth last night.
The Italian coach kept his players in the
dressing room for an hour after the game
ended, and it’s believed he was giving them
the mother of all tactical bollockings.
Speaking after that high pressure session, the
former Napoli boss was utterly scathing about
his players’ ability to pick up his tactics in
training:
“We need to work on the basics, the primary
foundations of my football and only then will
we try to change a few things,” he said in
quotes carried by The Sun , although he didn’t
sound too hopeful that will be the case.
To be fair, while Sarri is rightly taking a lot of
blame, it is true that these players aren’t
doing what he wants, or even what they were
doing at the start of the season when there
was far more pace and dynamism in their
play.
There’s still time, but it’s rapidly running out
for Sarri, whose team already looks to be
turning against him.
