And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams


When God gives instructions to you either via his word or the Holy Spirit or which ever way,your corresponding response should be with awesome reverence and then obedience. Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe God.The only way to receive Gods blessing begins with faith in your heart then obedience. If you do not obey,then of course his blessings will elude you.There are so many precious promises God has in store for us.The only currency we can use to get them is first to have faith in our heart and to obey.In Deuteronomy 28,Moses told the people of Israel that all the blessings will be theirs if they only hearken diligently and OBEY all that was stated.Sometimes these divine instructions seem ridiculous but the blessings come pouring in when you obey.God told Abraham to leave his father's house,tribe and kindred to a country that He (God) will show him.Abraham did not wait for God to tell him which country but Abraham obeyed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. Choose to obey.

Life is a test,a trust and a temporary assignment.

What will one sacrifice to God if not to obey him

Yes there are things you can sacrifice for God.Your time,your convenience, your money etc.these things are great and have their rewards(Think about how Solomon sacrificed and burnt 1000 rams or cows or something) but above this,God prefers obedience to what he tells you or what he instructs you.And Yes Obedience in itself is sacrificial.

Keeping to God's word and commandments will always put you in a safe position.
