La Liga giants, Barcelona have made a
shock move to sign striker, Olivier Giroud
from Chelsea in this January transfer
window.
Giroud has struggled to command a regular
spot in the first-team at Chelsea under
manager, Maurizio Sarri.
The France World Cup winner arrived
Stamford Bridge from Arsenal in January
2018.
However, Barcelona are looking for a new
striker to provide support to Luis Suarez,
their first-choice centre-forward.
RMC Sport is reporting that the Catalan
club have identified Giroud as one of the
top transfer targets to sign this month to
assist Suarez at the Camp Nou.
Giroud came off the bench in Chelsea’s 2-1
victory over Newcastle United on Saturday
in the Premier League encounter at
Stamford Bridge.
The 32-year-old has scored just 10 goals
for Chelsea since joining the West London
club this time last year.
