THE BITTER CUP
Matt 26:39, 42 & 44
When I was a child, I was made to drink some herbal medicines of which many have terrible tastes and smells.
If I have my way I will not touch the cup of those concortions but I have to drink them!!!
That got me thinking about the cup Jesus Christ have to drink on the CROSS OF CALVARY
WHAT DID JESUS SEE IN THE CUP THAT MADE HIM WISH HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DRINK IT?
1. SIN:- The first thing He saw when He looked inside the cup was SIN
Sins of the WORLD before He came till the end of time John 1:29
The gory details of the sins of the entire human race were in that cup
2. SUFFERING
He looked again and saw an unusual suffering and torture that will be done out on Him Luke 17:25
He discovered in that cup that sin has a price Rom 6:23
That someone must pay
3. SACRIFICE
He saw Himself as the sacrificial lamb.
He saw the messy and gory picture of what is going to happen to Him as the one to be slayed for the sacrifice
Rev 5:12
4. SEPARATION
For the first time in His LIFE God turned His back on Jesus Christ when God saw the gory sight of Jesus Christ covered with the messy sins of the world
It was so much to the extent that Jesus cried out in Matt 27:46 because of the separation
All these things made Jesus cringe in horror and fear and wished that He will not drink this cup
But
He looked again and saw
5 SALVATION
He saw His death as the ultimate price for the salvation of the world amidst the pains
He saw the GLORY and the JOY attached to this sacrifice Heb. 12:2
Here is the good news
HE DRANK EVERYTHING IN THAT CUP He said
IT IS FINISHED!!!!
John 19:30
He handed over a new cup called
THE CUP OF BLESSING
1 Corinth 10:16
I call this CUP, the CUP OF RELEVANCE
When we accept the finished work of Jesus Christ on the CROSS,
✠Our sins is exchanged for His salvation
✠His shame becomes our fame
.✠His pains becomes our gains
✠Our disappointments becomes appointments and more.......
What are you waiting for?
Why not surrender your life to Jesus Christ or rededicate your life to Him so as have the fullness of this CUP OF BLESSING

As we celebrate 🙌 the resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ today, l pray, as manifested in Ezekiel 37:1-14, ALL classified dead bones in your life will be revived to life to the glory of the Almighty God and people will rejoice with you and your songs shall be Psalms 124&126. ðŸ™!
