Manchester United shot-stopper David De
Gea posted a man-of-the-match
performance against Tottenham at
Wembley
- The Spain international was brilliant on
the night, forcing fantastic saves from
Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Dele
Alli
- The Red Devils have now closed the gap
on Arsenal in fifth position as they are
back in contention for a top-four finish
United's hero at Wembley David De Gea
has said that the real Manchester United
are back following their 1-0 win over
Tottenham.
The Red Devils had a decent first half as
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's men got their
noses in front through Marcus Rashford.
A delightful pass from Paul Pogba found
the England striker and he made no
mistake in applying the finish as United
took the lead into the break.
However, Mauricio Pochettino's side
came out smoking in the second period
but were denied owing to a couple of
goalkeeping brilliance from De Gea.
The Spain international forced a save
from Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld
and Dele Alli taking his tally of saves to
11 in the match.
Instead of crediting himself for the win
at Wembley, De Gea chose to praise his
teammates for getting maximum points.
"We won the game against a top team,
we controlled the first half but in the
second half they had chances," he told
Sky Sports.
"I was feeling very well with the first two
saves, it was a great game.
"I don't even remember some of the saves
so I can't pick a best. The manager
brought some happiness, the players are
playing well and the team is very strong
now.
"This is the real Manchester United ."
His last six words
One tweeted: "De Gea: 'This is the real
Man Utd' Love that. Very fortunate
second half but I would anticipate the
over excitement from MUFC fans will be
because they have their team back."
Another supporter posted: "'This is the
real Manchester United’. I LOVE YOU DE
GEA."
A separate fan said: "De Gea just said
this is the REAL Manchester United.
Couldn’t have said it any better."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported
that Manchester United recorded their
sixth consecutive victory following a 1-0
win over Tottenham at the Wembley
Stadium.
Marcus Rashford scored the only goals
of the match as United in the first half
as United are now level on points with
Arsenal in fifth on the log.
