Former Man United Rooney Might Lose £6m Deal After His Arrest At v*rg*nia Airport by Glory2019: 08:31 am On 1 Jan 2019
- Ex-England star Wayne Rooney was
arrested for public intoxication and
swearing charges
- The striker currently plies his trade in the
United States where he plays for DC United
- His behaviours might cost him about £6m
sponsorship deal as his wife Coleen is
scared it might get worse when he quits
playing football
Manchester United legend Wayne
Rooney was allegedly arrested last
month for drinking at the Dulles
International Airport in v*rg*nia.
The 33-year-old has been superb for his
Major League Soccer side DC United -
scoring 12 goals and six assists in 21
appearances since he joined them in
2018.
SunSport however reports that the
former England forward is on the verge
of losing a sponsorship deal around £6
million for the drunken case.
The publication further revealed that
Rooney has left his wife worried by his
antics ahead of his retirement from club
football.
Reports from the United States claims
the former Everton star was arrested
for public intoxication.
He was said to have reached a multi
million dollar with marketing giant
Octagon last summer — lining up a
string of endorsements to push the
“ Team Rooney ” brand.
The former England star also has tie-ups
with Nike and bosses at America’s
Major League Soccer — where he now
plays with DC United.
The brands have now revealed that they
are disappointed by the striker’s recent
lapse, as they could turn their backs
against the striker.
A source said: “ Both Wayne and Coleen
know that advertisers will walk away if
there’s any question marks over his
behaviour. In the US, image is so
important. ”
Wayne triggered a door alarm and was
said to have sworn at officials after
mixing booze and sleeping pills on a 14-
hour flight from Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, sources close to Coleen
claims the 32-year-old has confided in
her friends saying what what could
possibly happen once he quits football.
"Coleen can’t help but worry about how
Wayne will fill his time. He’s a nice lad,
but a liability when he has a drink .
"She is always upset when he does
something very public that humiliates
her and the family. She knows she is
being judged just as much as him. It’s
something she can’t change and it drives
her mad."

Coleen is also said to find life mundane
at their rented home in Bethesda,
Maryland — a world away from her
wag’s life in Cheshire — and is missing
her family in Liverpool.
The source said: " Moving to America
was supposed to be a fresh start, but
Wayne’s behaviour has put them back in
the spotlight. It also tarnished the family
brand they’ve been working hard to build
in the US ."
Legit.ng recalls that the Wayne Rooney
was planning to stage a return and
captain the England national team
against the USA.
Rooney's last game for the Three Lions
was against Scotland at Hampden Park
last year but the former Manchester
United star will be looking forward to
get a proper farewell match against the
Americans.
He said at the time: "It was great that
Gareth Southgate called me this week to
tell me he wanted me back in the
England squad for the upcoming
matches. I really appreciated that.
