Angel Di Maria Says He Never Had The Best Time At Manchester United by Glory2019: 02:29 pm On 1 Jan 2019

PSG
Paris Saint-Germain playmaker, Angel
Di Maria, has reflected on his
frustrating spell with Manchester United
after his big money move from Real
Madrid in 2014.
Di Maria signed for the Red Devils when
the club was experiencing turbulent
times following the departure of Sir
Alex Ferguson.
The signing of the Argentine was
announced during Louis Van Gaal's
reign who had replaced David Moyes
who had been sacked after a poor run
of games.
However, the former Real Madrid star
failed to replicate his fine form at Old
Trafford, often attracting criticism from
United fans.
Di Maria eventually sealed a move to
French giants, Paris Saint-Germain,
where he has since rediscovered his feet
and enjoying the best times of his
footballing career.
In a candid interview ahead of his
return to Old Trafford for the
Champions League, the star winger has
taken time out to mirror his
disappointing spell with the Red Devils.
The 30-year-old alluded to
'complications' under Van Gaal's
management, admitting his time with
the Premier League side was not the
best in his career.
"I only stayed for one year. It was not
the best time of my career, or rather I
was not allowed to spend my best time
there," Goal.com quoted the Argentine.
"There were complications with the
coach at the time," he disclosed.
"But thank God, I was able to come to
PSG and demonstrate again who I was,"
he added.
PSG will face an in-form United side in
the first leg of the round of 16 in the
Champions League in a crunch match Di
Maria is expected to feature on
Tuesday, February 12.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how
Premier League giants Manchester
United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjær
as their new manager until the end of
the ongoing 2018/19 Premier League
season.
The 45-year-old Norwegian football
manager replaces former manager Jose
Mourinho who was thrown out of the
club because of poor results.
He was joined by Mike Phelan as first-
team coach, together with Michael
Carrick and Kieran McKenna this
season at Old Trafford.
