Multiple award-winning actress, Taraji P. Henson
is set to get her very own star on the Hollywood
Walk Of Fame this year.
According to Ana Martinez, the Producer Of the
Hollywood Walk Of Fame, the 48-year-old Oscar
nominated “Empire†star will receive a star on the
Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Monday, January 28,
2019.
She said,
“Taraji P Henson is a powerful woman and a
powerful actress. She is an entertainer that
fans cannot take their eyes off of due to her
great acting ability. We welcome her bright
star on our Walk Of Fame.â€
This honour makes her the 2,597th star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame, after Hollywood actress,
Viola Davis received the 2,596th star at last year
ceremony.
It was also confirmed that “Boyz In The Hoodâ€
director John Singleton and rapper Mary J Blige
will speak at the ceremony.
Henson is Washington DC-born actress whose
career started working as an extra in television
shows before getting her big break in the 2001
comedy-drama film “Baby Boyâ€, starring
alongside Tyrese Gibson.
In 2008 she starred opposite Brad Pitt in David
Fincher’s “The Curious Case Of Benjamin B*ttonâ€,
playing the mother of a disabled child. She also
has an extensive career in television and has
starred in films like “Date Night†and the 2010
remake of “The Karate Kidâ€.
Henson who will be honoured in the category of
motion pictures was nominated for an Academy
Award for “Best Supporting Actress†for her role in
“The Curious Case Of Benjamin B*ttonâ€.
Last year she voiced a character in Disney’s
animated film “Ralph Breaks The Internet†and
will appear in the comedy “What Men Want†in
February.
For each star installed on the Walk Of Fame, the
sponsor of the nominee must pay 40,000 US
dollars (£31,000) to the Hollywood Historic Trust.
The money goes towards the installation of the
monument as well as the maintenance of the
Walk Of Fame.
