THE former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, and the Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the State, Labaran Maku, have appealed to the electorates and other stakeholders in next Saturday polls not to abandon the elections as a result of the postponement by INEC.

According to Adamu, though the postponement of the election was painful, the aftermath of the postponement should not be allowed to overshadow the credibility of the elections slated for this Saturday nationwide.
Adamu emphasised that the policy trust of Buhari administration would ensure that credible, transparent, fair and acceptable elections are conducted in the country.

Adamu admonished the people of the state not to be discouraged with the postponement of the elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, but to keep the faith, noting that the outcome will be in the best interest of the nation.
He urged citizen, not to lost hope but to see the postponement of the election by the INEC as the will of Almighty urging citizens and supporters of APC to remain resolute and take the pains by coming out en masse next Saturday to vote for president Muhammadu Buhari and all APC at all levels.
The two-time governor of the state, however, called on the people of the state and Nigerians not to be deterred with the development but continued to pray for INEC to overcome its challenges.
He maintained that though the postponement of the election was painful and shocking, there was the need for all to accept and reflect on the gains by Nigerians at the end of the day.
Also speaking while addressing his supporters in Keana local government of the state, the APGA Governorship Candidate called on Nigerians not to lose confidence in INEC for rescheduling the general election but they should see it as positive steps towards improving the electoral process.
Maku who assured that his first one hundred days in office as governor would focus on a policy thrust centered on tackling insecurity, poverty, women and youth empowerment, also promised to set up a Special Scheme aimed at engaging youths in skills acquisition for empowerment if elected governor of the state.
