(From Galatians 5:16)Work according to the spirit and don't work according to the flesh; do not give way to the desires of the body; it can be in the area of your dressing, talking(ie discussing filthy and ungodly things) etc therefore, it is not every discussion you engage yourself,because there are some words that are not suppose to come out from your mouth as a child of GOD that is directed and guided by the HOLY SPIRIT.. When you live according to the spirit, the way others see things will be different from yours because you are led by the spirit, and which might cause misunderstanding, quarrel,argument but don't engage in such. Too much ambitiousness can make one to go against GOD'S will in order to fulfill such desires. So don't let your over ambitious direct and make sinful decision for you but let's GOD'S will be. Worshiping idol does not only mean physically,but we might be idol worshipers (1)by dwelling and thinking about worldly things too much neglecting GOD and how to make heaven; forgetting the Scripture that says seek the kingdom of GOD first and every other thing shall be added unto you. And lastly in our heart by bewitching those that are blessed by GOD or bigger than us because of hatred and envy. And the secret to excel both spiritually and physically for a youth or anybody is to remove envy, drunkenness and fornication. Why because envy hinders blessings from GOD; when you envy the blesses of others given by GOD, you wouldn't receive yours from HIM. While Drunkenness can make one to commit abominable act that he/she can't commit in a right sense thereby hindering GOD'S blessings; you might say let me drink little is good for my health and from there it becomes nurtured and a habit is developed which is lured and controlled by the devil because every sin has a spirit in charge of it. Every sin starts from little, so to avoid being lured is to cast the thought and the temptation of drinking little because it is an occasion of sin. And lastly fornication/adultery which is a sin against the flesh hinders blessings. Why? because you can't be asking GOD for a favour in the morning and HE answered you and prepared it for you and in the night you fornicate, deceiving yourself that the grace of GOD covers all. What do you take GOD for? if someone offend you repeatedly without remorse and also asking favour from you at the same time, what will inspire you to help the person? Nothing. Is it not when the person truly repent and stop taking advantage of your mercy and love for him or her that you will grant him/her the favour? That is how it is between us and GOD. HE is willing to help us but our sinful ways drag us far away from HIM when HE stretches HIS hands. It is when we come closer that the blessing reaches us. Your success is connected to your spiritual life; your intimate commitment with GOD, because it it when you take HIM serious in your life that HE takes your problems serious. It might be difficult for us because it requires crucifying bodily desires for GOD. And trying to get that by short cut neglecting GOD cost both our physical and eternal life and doesn't last and there is no peace. You pray, you don't get answer or the prophet prophesied success but didn't come to pass. check your spiritual life and commitment with GOD because it determines your success; you might say others are prospering but you are not, is my sin bigger than theirs? But the questions is :do you know the secret of their success? Do you have the same fate with them? What does GOD require from you to make you successful?does HE require being sacrificial to the needy?or holiness?or both? Does the gift HE gave you dominant?are you making good use of it? Do you use it to please HIM or the devil? Are you using it to bless others and bring honour to HIM?Will you forget HIM when HE gives you the money? Are you strong enough in the spirit to be able to resist the temptations that will come from the blessing HE will give you ?Are you so special to HIM that HE doesn't want you to be taken away from HIM but wants you to be spiritually fit and anchored in order not to be taken away from HIM when the blessing comes? Do you work as if it depends on you and pray as if it depends on GOD? Are you lazy waiting for manna to come down from heaven? Do you know eagerness, willingness and persistence both in prayer and hard work inspire GOD?These are the food for thought questions we've got to ask ourselves.
