Summary of Genesis 19
We should have a stand in GOD and in doing HIS work. Do we have time for GOD or for earthly things. We should possess the character that we are known for as a child of GOD. Reflecting to Lot's stand in protecting the Angels and at the end they were made blind by the power of GOD possessed by the Angels👉ðŸ¼no matter the consequences that comes from helping or saying the truth, we shouldn't give up in doing the rightful thing and GOD will always support you in the good thing you are doing because of HIM. Lot's wife was turned into pillar of salt because of worldly thing. Don't serve two masters at the same time, you either be loyal to one or disobey the other. Are you going back in the things of GOD because of worldly things? Or because of the circumstance surrounding us? HIS love, mercy and grace is sufficient for us but only need to be activated by our actions through trust, faith, persistence and patience in prayer.
"Heaven help those who help themselves". The sentence has wrong use and right use ie wrong application and right application👉ðŸ¼reflecting to Lot's daughter's abominable act. They helped themselves by sleeping with their father and naturally they accomplished their aim neglecting GOD'S full capacity. That's wrong application of the sentence. But rather the rightful application is to acknowledge GOD that HE is capable, have trust and faith and be prayerful and which is the "help themselves" while heaven(GOD) helps because of persistent in prayer coupled with faith and patience. Another one is when we pray but stay idle without making any effort towards what we prayed for, it wouldn't come down from heaven because it is when we make an effort that GOD supports and blesses the work of our hand. And also our eagerness and prayer coupled with faith yields GOD'S blessings
The devil made Lot's daughter to believe that there was no man in the city to sleep with in order to bear children for there father to continue there father's linage. From this reflection, does our situation make us believe there is no hope? Or the circumstances around? Or what is happening in the world, Does it make us believe that there is no faithful and good wife or husband in this present generation because of what is into existence presently? Don't allow the enemy to deceive you because of the situation that seems very impossible in the eyes of man like he deceived Lot's daughters,and they got what they wanted by their own power by committing an abominable act. Therefore, don't allow your situation make you run away from GOD by committing a sinful act but rather run to HIM because HE is ever capable and more bigger than your situation. In other words, don't neglect GOD like Lot's daughters did
Our Christianity should be a persistent, rigid and sincere Christianity. Be rigid and don't be flexible to people's deceitful, confusing, discouraging and drunken words. Don't be drunk in your brain by the words of people, be rigid and don't allow their words and action confuse, deceive and lure you into sin. One doesn't mind the inspectors while run a race because if one looks back, one will fail the race.
Alcohol makes one to do what he can't do and make him commit abominable act or sin that he can never do when in his right senses(reflecting to Lot being drunk by his daughters to sleep with them) Assuming Lot was in his right senses, he wouldn't have done that. The sin he couldn't commit in Sodom and Gomorrah that made him to be saved among those sinful people, he committed it because of alcoholism. So, as a good and dedicated Christian keep away from alcohol.
