The use of these words- (1) I don't know- Mark 14vs 66-68. It is better to say "i'm not telling you" than to say i don't know, when you truly know. (2) I'm not annoyed- Matthew 18vs 15. It obvious you are really annoyed and what the person did hurt you. You are asked 'Are you annoyed', you said 'i'm not annoyed, knowing fully well that you are annoyed, why don't you say, you are annoyed and settle the matters. (When people offend you let them know) (3) Nothing- you are asked a question and your reply is nothing, when you know there is something going on- why don't you say don't worry or any other suitable word instead of lying that there is nothing when something is actually going on. (4) James 5 vs 12 'ABOVE ALL, MY BROTHERS, DO NOT SWEAR- NOT BY HEAVEN OR BY EARTH OR ANYTHING ELSE. LET YOUR "YES" BE YES, AND YOUR "NO", NO, OR YOU WILL BE CONDEMNED.' Do not call the name of GOD because you want someone to believe you, let your yes be yes and no be no, if they believe or not leave them.MATTHEW 5VS 37- SIMPLY LET YOUR 'YES' BE 'YES' AND 'NO', ' No'; ANYTHING BEYOND THIS COMES FROM THE EVIL ONE. (your word of assumption might put someone into trouble) E.g- I saw Tolu and Dupe last night, i'm sure Tolu killed Dupe, you aren't there to witness it. Dupe left Tolu; to go and spend the night at her boyfriend's place, before getting there, Dupe was killed.(A friend who saw Tolu and Dupe said, is Tolu while Tolu said is the boyfriend( Never assume what you aren't sure about. At the same time, don't use the word 'i think something is .......' be certain and sure with your words because whatever you say might either solve or damage someone life. (7) Lying to coverup. E.g- Ade sister has travelled out of the country but he doesn't want anybody to know. Ola-where is your sister? Ade- she has travelled. Ola- to where? Ade- to her friend's place. (Oh no!) You don't need to lie to cover up the necessary things. Just say, i'm sorry, i can't tell you and if Ola ask further (why) then you can say for best reasons known to me. ( you've said it all instead of lying) You might refer that has long story or prolonging of matters but its better not to lie than to lie and be punished. SIN IS SIN, there is no small or big sin. 1st John 3vs 7-8- 'DEAR CHILDREN, DO NOT LET ANYONE LEAD YOU ASTRAY. HE WHO DOES WHAT IS RIGHT IS RIGHTEOUS, JUST AS HE IS RIGHTEOUS.
