This is coming after he welcomed his child with his partner Maria Salaues.

To celebrate the welcoming his baby into the world, the Frenchman splashed out on his yellow speedster – a Ferrari 812 Superfast that retails from around £250,000.

The news of Pogba’s new born baby was actually revealed by Manchester United legend Bryan Robson. He said:

“When I saw Paul last week in Dubai with the United squad, I had a little chat and congratulated him on the birth of his baby. He just seemed so relaxed and easy with things.”

Crime / Housewife Cuts Maid With Razor Blade For Stealing Baby’s Milk by Lagabosh: 10:30 am On 1 Jan 2019
A nursing mother, Folake Ogunrinu, has been arrested by operatives of the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly lacerating her 10-year-old maid with a razor blade in the Sanyo area of Ibadan.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspect, who had accused the victim of stealing her baby’s milk, in a bid to discipline her, subjected the girl to torture by allegedly using a razor blade to lacerate her on the back and hand, leaving the girl with severe injuries.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, while condemning the action of the nursing mother, said the maid ran out of the house to get help from neighbours when she could no longer withstand the pain from the torture.

The eyewitness said, “It pains me to see a small girl in such pain; it was a terrible scene. The woman accused the girl of stealing her baby’s milk and subjected her to such a horrible torture. According to the victim, the woman used a razor blade to lacerate her back and when she could no longer cope with the torture, she ran out of the house and the woman still chased after her.

“It was when the girl ran out that we saw what had happened to her and forcefully took her away and rushed her to the hospital for treatment.

“From what we were told, the woman gave birth to a set of twins some months back and I think the girl was brought to her by a church member to assist the woman for a year. As small as the girl is, the woman usually made her to do all the house chores. I wonder why the girl has still not returned to her parents.

“We reported the matter at the Sanyo Police Station; I just hope that from this incident, people will learn to keep their kids under their watch no matter the situation they are experiencing.”

A reliable source, who did not want his name in print, said the victim’s family had refused to press charges against the woman, adding that the family members were willing to settle the case out of court.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the news of the torture, which is trending online, was greeted with condemnation of the woman’s action by Nigerians from diverse backgrounds.

Adeogun Oluwakayode, while condemning the torture on his Facebook page said, a government agency and a non-governmental organisation had taken up the case to get justice for the victim.

He said, “Let us be careful of the kind of discipline we administer to our children or anyone in our custody. The aim of discipline should be to encourage the child to stop negative behaviours, make positive choices and ultimately become a better person, and not to inflict pain or cause injury.

“Anyway, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation have taken up the case. The wicked woman has been arrested.”

Musa Maria, who also criticised the suspect said, “What do you think of your own children when you do this to other people’s children?”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said the woman had been arrested and her case file transferred to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Iyaganku, on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude.

“I am aware of the case; the suspect has been arrested and on the directive of the CP, Abiodun Odude, the case has been transferred to the state CIID, Iyaganku, for diligent investigation and prosecution. But I am also aware that the victim is related to the suspect,” Ajisebutu said.

World Politics / Imo Apc Suspends Governor Okorocha by Lagabosh: 10:26 am On 1 Jan 2019
"The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo State.

Announcing his suspension on Thursday, the party accused the governor of “gross anti-party” activities.

Okorocha was seen campaigning for his son-in-law, a member of Action Alliance, during an APC campaign rally in the state.

The governor did this without recourse to Aisha Buhari, the wife of the president, who was present at the rally.

A faction of the party in the state that suspended Okorocha said a committee was set up to investigate him and claimed his actions are in line with Article 21 (B) I-VI of the APC Constitution (October 2014 as amended).

The Imo State Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Prince Marcellinus Nlemigbo, said that a letter conveying the message has been sent to the National Chairman of the party.

“A letter by the Imo State chapter of the APC signed by the chairman conveyed the suspension to the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole. We regretted that Okorocha who is the party’s candidate for Imo West Senatorial District has vowed to undermine the APC and its electoral interest," he said.

Nlemigbo added that the decision was to save the party from the “machinations of Okorocha”, with the expulsion giving him time so that he can fully move to his party, the Action Alliance (AA).”

Education / Why Exactly Are State Universities On Asuu Strike? by Lagabosh: 09:32 am On 1 Jan 2019
You may have also noticed that ASUU’s demands over the past 10 years has always been about earned allowances, release of fund for the revitalization of ‘public universities’, release of operational license to Nigerian University Employees Pension Company and a few more. It then beats my imagination why lecturers of state varsities would leave the rot in their own institutions to fight for the liberation of the federal universities.

A baffling example is the crisis-ridden Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, which is now a shadow of its own self. One would thing such university, sitting comfortably at the middle of a huge financial crisis and which has wasted the youthful days of its students would sue for peace when all is done and dust. Instead, ASUU-LAUTECH, returning from a long, boring and not-too-yielding industrial action moved quickly in solidarism to join its national body in another unending wrangle that still has no end in sight. I doubt if even ASUU national body would have blamed ASUU-LAUTECH for opting out of the strike if it did. Thank Goodness angels ministered to these patriotic men and women, after about three years, they returned back to their line of duty last week, but would now be on strike only on Thursdays and Fridays.

I’ve wondered ceaselessly, why students of the better by far UNILORIN and Great Ife who have remained in school taking lectures and exams, rounding up a semester or session may later enjoy better infrastructures if ASUU struggle eventually pays off while 100L students of EKSU, OSU, ABSU and others would return back to their classrooms sitting on the ground to take lectures in the old, dilapidated structures on ground. Isn’t it unfair to these students that their state universities benefit next to nothing?

Many of these state owned university lecturers would return to the crisis ravaging their own schools after the strike and continue to manage it. On the other hand, federal schools continue to fix more air-conditioned systems, Wi-Fi, better libraries and cooler, siren environment while their students pay far less for just so much. Sad but true is many state owned schools don’t rely on government funds any longer including UNIOSUN, TASUED, OOU, etc. Could this then be blind solidarity?

It is indeed unfair for students of state owned universities to pay tuition as high as #150,000, almost the same amount their colleagues pay at Oduduwa and Redeemer’s university, only to be used as bargaining tools to fight for students of UNIBEN whose tuition is absolutely free and can only get better facilities. Therefore, why keep state university students at home?

The entire convoy of Taraba APC gubernatorial candidate Sani Abubakar while on their way to Ibi was alleged that some touts who accompanied him in his convoy misfired, and the bullet caught a passerby (boy).
They met an unprecedented rejection as some youths attacked the entire train, leaving everyone scrambling for safety.
