Entertainment / Re: Why I Posted Video Of Mc Oluomo Online - Fuji Artiste, Taye Currency Speaks by rapzee126: 12:45 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Genjina:Since MC Oluomo, a chieftain of the NURTW in Lagos, was reportedly stabbed at a political rally some days back, there have been a lot of rumours that he had died from the wounds sustained during the attack.

However, the rumours were finally put to rest when fuji artiste, Taye Currency, visited Oluomo in the hospital and uploaded a video of both of them together. However, some people criticised him for posting such video just to get attention.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Currency revealed why he posted the video.

“I had been inundated with calls from people that MC had died; so, I had to convince them otherwise. Everybody knows that whenever Oluomo comes to Ibadan, he is always at my place. We have been friends for over 25 years and are very close. Because of that, so many people were on my neck for proof that he was still alive. That was why I visited him at the hospital and made a video for the world to see that he was hale and hearty,” he said.

Disputing the fact that Fuji singers are always in bed with louts and violent people, Currency said, “Fuji musicians are not fighters. However, we are friends with everybody; we don’t have enemies. I went to visit MC Oluomo as a friend. I am not interested in whatever fight anybody had or has. If it was his opponents that were hurt, I would have visited them as well.”

On his plans for 2019, the singer said, “My 26-year-old son, who I had at the age of 19, is contesting the State House of Assembly election in Oyo State. He won the Peoples Democratic Party’s primary and will be on the ballot for the forthcoming poll. That is the major project I have before me now because I want him to succeed.”

Education / Re: Understanding The Concept Of Industrialization (a Case Study Of Nigeria) by rapzee126: 12:44 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Glory2019:Industrialization is a major characteristic of
a developed nation. In fact, no nation is
said to be developed without a huge
presence of industrialization. Most
developing countries are striving to
increase their level of industrialization but
is so unfortunate that Nigeria is still far
behind. This is mainly due to the high level
of past corrupt leaders of the nation.
Industrialization is like a breath of oxygen
to a nation, without it a nation can end up
as a dead country. Industrialization
improves a country’s economy.
What is Industrialization?
Industrialization can simply be defined as a
country’s economy transition from an
agrarian economy to an industrial
(manufacturing) economy. Manual labour
done by individuals is replaced by
machines for mass production, assembly
lines replaces craftsmen. Economic growth
is a major characteristic of
industrialization. The use of technological
innovation and more distribution of labour
efficiently is also a major characteristics of
industrialization.
Industrial Revolution
Industrial revolution is the first
transformation from an agricultural
economy to a mechanized one.
The first stage of Industrial revolution took
place from the mid 18th to early 19th
century in North America and certain areas
of Europe. Industrialization started from the
Great Britain, then Belgium followed by
Germany before France. This early stage
were characterized by technological
progress, movement from rural work to
industrial labour, investing financially in
industrial structure, and early improvements
on theories and development in class
consciousness.
The second stage of industrialization
revolution can be trace to the mid
nineteenth century after the steam engine
was refined, internal combustion engine
was invented, the construction of railways,
electric power lines, canals and harnessing
of electricity.
The industrial revolution led to a mass
expansion of wealth among people, it also
led to well being, increased specialization
of labour, and allowed cities to
accommodate larger population.
By the end of the twentieth century East
Asia as become an industrialized part of
the world. Notably also, Brazil, Russia,
India, China and South Africa also known
as the BRICS states underwent
industrialization process during this period.
Most of those countries especially Russia
and China are now fully industrialized.
The Scenario of Nigeria
Shortly after independence the Nigerian
government started looking for ways to get
the country industrialized. The government
formulated a four years national
development plan than from 1962 to 1968.
The plan was to strengthen the
manufacturing sector of the economy.
Because of lack of implementation and the
Nigerian civil, the plan never saw the light
of the day. Successive government had
made various efforts to industrialize the
country but because of the high level of
corruption the country is still lagging
behind in terms of industrialization.
Nigeria is a country filled with a lot of
intellectual brains, if given the enabling
environment can bring about the much
needed industrialization to the country. The
government should grant access to credit
for individuals that can contribute to the
technological improvement of the nation.
The government should try as much as
possible to encourage the use of home
made goods in order to improve
productivity.
What Nigeria needs the most is the zeal
and willingness for our political leaders to
successfully formulate and implement
policies that would bring the adequate and
much needed industrialization to the
country. This can only be achieved by a
very clear economic vision and strategic
development which should also involve the
private sector.

US Politics / Re: Teens In Make America Great Again Hats Taunted A Native American by rapzee126: 12:34 pm On 1 Jan 2019
admin:
A crowd of teenagers surrounded a Native American elder and other activists and mocked them after Friday's Indigenous Peoples March at the Lincoln Memorial.
Videos of the confrontation show a smiling young man in a red Make America Great Again hat standing directly in front of the man, who was playing a drum and chanting. Other kids could be seen laughing, jumping around and making fun of the chants.
"I did not feel safe in that circle," said Kaya Taitano, a student at the University of the District of Columbia who participated in the march and shot the videos.
She told CNN that the teens were chanting things like "Build the wall" and "Trump 2020."

Taitano said the whole incident started when the teens and four young African-Americans, who'd been preaching about the Bible nearby, started yelling and calling each other names.
It got pretty intense, Taitano said, so Nathan Phillips, an elder with the Omaha tribe, started playing his drum and chanting what she was told was a healing prayer, to help defuse the situation.
Phillips walked through the crowd, and Taitano said things were starting to calm down until he got to the grinning boy seen in the video.
"This one kid just refused to move and he just got in Nathan's face," she said.
Other boys circled around, she said. "They just surrounded him and they were mocking him and mocking the chant. We really didn't know what was going to happen there."
Phillips is a Vietnam veteran who says he served between 1972 and 1976. He is a former director of the Native Youth Alliance and holds an annual ceremony honoring Native American veterans in Arlington National Cemetery.

''I was scared, I was worried for my young friends. I don't want to cause harm to anyone," Phillips told CNN's Sara Sidner. "I don't like the word 'hate.' I don't like even saying it, but it was hate unbridled. It was like a storm."
The crowd kept growing as Phillips and the boy stood face to face, but Phillips kept on chanting and playing his drum.
"What the young man was doing was blocking my escape. I wanted to leave. I was thinking, 'How do I get myself out of this? I want to get away from it,'" Phillips said.
Taitano said the standoff continued until a chaperone came and led the teens away for a photograph.
Some of the boys could be seen wearing hoodies and jackets with the name of Covington Catholic High School, an all-boys' school in Northern Kentucky.
The school's website said a group of students had planned to attend Friday's March for Life rally in Washington.
The school is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington, and in a statement given to CNN affiliate WLWT, spokeswoman Laura Keener said the diocese would investigate the incident and take appropriate action.
"We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18, after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C. We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church's teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person.
"The matter is being investigated and we will take appropriate action, up to and including expulsion. We know this incident also has tainted the entire witness of the March for Life and express our most sincere apologies to all those who attended the March and all those who support the pro-life movement."
CNN has reached out to the school and diocese for comment.
Taitano, who is from Guam, said she was raised to treat her elders with respect so it hurt to see them treat Phillips so badly.

Phillips also appeared upset in a video Taitano posted after the confrontation. He wiped away tears as he talked about the chants of "build that wall.

"I wish I could see that energy of the young mass of young men to, you know, put that energy into, you know, making this country really, really great by helping those who are hungry, you know," Phillips said.
