[quote author=Owolabiope]Matthew 2:13-15 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
In the above account, Jesus, the son of God was recently born.He was the saviour born in a manger.God had a special assignment for Him.His star was great but with all these he had an enemy that determined to eliminate his purpose. He was hell bent on seeing that Jesus did not fulfill his purpose. The angel of God gave a vivid instruction. Take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt. They were to stay there till Herod(the enemy)died.Don't be deceived. This life is a battleground and on it there are enemies. If Jesus Christ our ultimate example and saviour had enemies then please note that you and I are not exempted.
You may say 'I mind my own business o'.or 'I don't look for people's trouble o'.Yes it may be true but there are people that will just choose to hate you or become envious of you. That's how it starts. There are enemies everywhere but you have to know the approach to give to them. Our number one enemy as Christians is the Devil. We are to give no place to him at all. Then we have human enemies that can come from anywhere. Now for these human enemies some are to be prayed for and some are to be prayed against. In addition, some human enemies can be avoided. It requires wisdom to know them.
May God reveal our enemies to us in Jesus name.
Life is a test,a trust and a temporary assignment.[Men foe are people of his household. BEWARE,!]
