Try and live right and leave everything in GOD'S hand. Verse 4 interprets that GOD really loves obedience. When you obey the word of GOD, there is nothing impossible for GOD to do for you or else it is a permissive will(ie wanting GOD to do something for you which is not HIS will in which sorrow may come out of it) or HE maybe trying your faith,love or trust in HIM. Why would GOD allow Haggai and her child to suffer? It is because GOD is free in giving; HE gives freedom to do whatever one wants, either condemnation or salvation, you choose. Every free thing is very significant and expensive e.g air and water are free but without them, one can't survive. Salvation is free and significant but very expensive because it requires sacrifice ie displeasing yourself and pleasing GOD. Because your closeness with GOD and the value of your convenient with HIM determines your bless and every convenient goes with blood which had been paid by CHRIST JESUS. And as you have decided to open yourself for GOD, temptation, trial, procrastination etc might come because as a Christian suffering Is medicinal, bit the outcome after the trial is beyond expectation.
