Why $100 per day? Let me tell you.

If you can make $100 every day, you don’t need a job almost anywhere in the world.

Making $100/day is also validation.

It means you have enough marketing chops to make it on your own. The answer to the question “can I make a living on the internet?”

Most importantly, once you know how to make $100/day, you can scale up your business to make $500, $1,000 and even $10,000 per day (and it can be done).

World Politics / Re: Pdp Unfolds Five Strategies To Checkmate Rigging, Malpractices by marymat2003: 09:59 pm On 2 Feb 2019
…Warns of consequences if polls are rigged
By Dirisu Yakubu
ABUJA- Ahead of the Presidential election slated for Saturday February 16, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has devised five strategies aimed at preventing what it called the manipulation of the electoral process.
Members of the PDP
This was made known to journalists Wednesday in Abuja by former Aviation Minister and spokesperson/chairman, Strategy Committee of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Osita Chidoka.
According to Chidoka, the PDP has in place, “A state-of-the-art Parrell Voting Tabulation, PVT system, a national network of fully equipped Situation Rooms and Call Centres, a nation-wide hotline for the public to report malpractice as well as the launch of a hashtag, #DefendYourVote, among others.
On the rationale for deploying the PVT, Chidoka explained that the device “is a scientifically proven, best practice technique, to hold election authorities accountable, particularly when there is a lack of trust and the result are highly contested.”
He added that the PVT would ensure that PDP partisans “accept the results of the election, and that the country remains peaceful and respectful of its differences,” adding that some civil society organisations would also have their PVTs in place.
We sympathize with Jimi Agbaje over his frustration – Sanwo-Olu
The PDP chieftain further explained: “Our methodology accounts for several different scenarios to ensure continued collation of the results in the event of any disruptions with collation process.
“Hard copies of the signed voter tally provided to all party agents by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC officers, will be transported to the central command center should future disputes need to be reconciled.”
And unlike in the past, Chidoka said the party would deploy a huge number of well trained and educated agents to each of the 176, 000 polling units nationwide.
He spoke further on other strategies aimed at ensuring that the polls mirror the will of the electorate.
“PDP has established a reporting system for the PVT through the wards to the district headquarters, to the states and to the national tally centre,” he added
A nation-wide hotline for the public to report infractions has been launched by the party even as the ex-Minister explained that the PDP “is providing multiple-line inbound call centre linked to a single hotline number: 097000551 for voters to report any incidence of violence or electoral malpractice.”
The #DefendYourVote campaign, another strategy unveiled by the party according to Chidoka is targeted at Nigeria’s largest voter block (18-25 years-old), adding that “a set of 12 easy-to-follow guidelines has been communicated to voters.”
While warning against the a recap of what he called the “Osun playbook, Chidoka said the PDP has adopted international best practices, including “establishing a robust elections results management system,” coupled with its “wide array of intelligence collectors and patriotic public servants who are resolute in defending the constitution and the integrity of our electoral process.”
He also noted that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, may want to re-enact what happened in Osun in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Kaduna, Kano and Rivers states, stressing however that PDP was equal to the task.
For those nursing the intent to rig the polls, Chidoka has a word for them:“There will be consequences,” he warned.
Meanwhile, party’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan has expressed optimism that the election on Saturday is PDP’s to lose.
Traffic gridlock hits Ilorin as Buhari visits Kwara
Briefing journalists in Abuja yesterday, the publicity scribe said:“By all manifest indices from the six geo-political zones, 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the peoples candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is already coasting to victory and not even the machinations by the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress ,APC, can change this reality.
“Given that INEC is under siege by the Presidency and now relies on the resilient spirit of Nigerians to ensure a free, fair and credible election, the PDP is resolute to lead in the fronts in the pursuit of the wishes and aspirations of Nigerians to take the destiny of our nation in their hands.
“The PDP acknowledges the fact that for Nigerians, this election is not about politics but about building our nation; it is not between the PDP and APC but between Nigerian citizens and President Buhari, whose incompetent, vengeful, violent-prone, divisive and inherently corrupt administration has brought so much poverty, anguish and pain to our dear country.
“For Nigerians, this election is a choice between democracy and dictatorship; between justice and injustice, between prosperity and poverty; unity and polarity; peace and bloodletting; freedom and enslavement; progress and stagnation; creation of jobs and job losses, respect for territorial integrity and invasion; a choice between an in-charge President and a President by proxy.”
According to him, the party is upbeat of uts chances having succeeded in mobilising 40 millions of its members nationwide to vote its candidate on Saturday.[No party should be allowed to run in any way. International observers to even assist in this wise. ]

World Politics / Re: Four Armed Fake Soldiers Arrested While Escorting 'politician' In Imo by marymat2003: 09:53 pm On 2 Feb 2019
Ahead of the February 16 Presidential election, four fake soldiers escorting an unnamed politician have been arrested in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Parading the suspects, who were fully dressed in Military fatigue, during a Peace Parley for candidates, the Commander 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Brigadier General H. I Bature, disclosed that fake soldiers have infiltrated the state to cause chaos during the general elections.
He stated that desperate politicians have equipped hoodlums with Army Uniforms and weapons to perpetrate violence in the state, warning that all those involved in the ignoble act will be fished out and dealt with.
According to him, “two of these fake soldiers were arrested escorting a politician. You will marvel at the kind of ammunition that was in their possession. But no matter how much they disguise, we have a way of finding out the fake soldiers.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki and Galadanchi, urged the politicians to play by the rules and jettison all forms of violence.
According to him, the State has witnessed relative peace when compared to other states in the Federation, as a result of the
“cooperation and support of the people of the state”.
He said, “you will agree with me that this hard-earned peace and tranquillity we enjoy and experience in Imo State should be guarded jealously, thus, we have no other option than to ensure this endures before, during and after the elections”[Good to know! ]

Crime / Re: Nursing Mother Forgets 6-month-old Baby In Taxi, Driver Arrested by marymat2003: 04:07 pm On 2 Feb 2019
37 years old mother of little Precious Eromosele on Saturday abandoned her in a public taxi after returning from market.

According to report gathered, the mother of three identified as Mrs Cynthia Eromosele is under police custody for carelessness and child neglect.

Mrs Cynthia had gone shopping with her daughter at the popular Oyingbo market in Port Harcourt to purchase items for a social event the family is hosting.

After shopping, she hired a taxi to take her to her residence somewhere at Eleme. While in the taxi, she let her baby sleep on the taxi seat.

When she got home, she alighted to offload the goods she bought while her visiting in-laws took them inside.

She paid the driver and he zoomed off without realising that Little Precious was still at the back seat unnoticed.

The driver who was also unaware of the presence of the baby got to a police checkpoint where he was flagged down for stop and search.

Trying to explain to the policeman that he had passed a few minutes ago, the policeman saw little precious and the driver was nabbed immediately for child theft.

Every explanation to the policemen that the mother of the baby might have abandoned her in his taxi fell on deaf ears as the police insisted that he is a child thief.

Meanwhile, trouble already started at the home of Eromosele as heated accusations and counter accusations about the whereabout of Little Precious was alleged.

The mother insisted that after alighting from the vehicle, she handed over Precious to one of the guests who denied anything of such as she only carried the make up kits she bought.

The arguments nearly resulted to fisticuffs before it was suggested that the natter should be reported to the police.

The panic stricken couple arrived at the police station to find little precious and the driver of the taxi in police custody.

After every proofs of being parents of the baby, the police asked that the mother be locked up for child neglect till Monday when she will be handed over to the ministry of women affairs for discipline.

All pleas to allow the mother return home were turned down by the police who insisted that Mrs Eromosele was serve her punishment as a deterrent to other would be careless mothers.

World Politics / Re: Buhari Finally Reacts To Obasanjo’s Attack [full Text] by Marymat2003: 02:48 pm On 1 Jan 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari, Sunday night lambasted former President Olusegun Obasanjo for attacking him and his government.
Obasanjo had compared the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration to that of the Abacha era.
Reacting, presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement said: “The sixteen-page letter the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari and released this afternoon is the last push by desperate politicians who can’t handle the President politically and have resorted to subterfuge.
“Our first message to the former President is that he needs a good doctor for good treatment and to say to him, “Get well soon.”
“As repeatedly said of him, since Chief Obasanjo left office in 1979, he never let every succeeding leader of the country function freely, and this included the one he personally handpicked against all known rules drawn up by the party that put him in the office of the President. But Chief Obasanjo is jealous because President Buhari has more esteem than him and the sooner he learns to respect him the better.
“It is a notorious fact that in dealing with any leader that he failed to control, he resorted to these puerile attacks. As the grand patron, more correctly the grandfather of corruption as described by the National Assembly, Chief Obasanjo released today’s letter purely for the reason of rescuing his thriving corruption establishment.
“The elections starting in February will be free and fair as promised the nation and the international community by President Buhari.
“What Chief Obasanjo and his co-travelers in the PDP should expect is that from the outcome, we will teach them a political lesson that they will never forget. This margin will be much bigger than we had in 2015.
“Claims that President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have embarked on the president’s “self- succession project, by recruiting collation officers who are already awarding results based on their projects to actualise the perpetuation agenda, in which the people will not matter and the votes will not count” is not only utterly false, but a copious note from the book on the failed third term agenda of President Obasanjo.
“The man, President Buhari who has taken Nigeria’s reputation to a higher level internationally and is working hard to improve on the records of elections he found in place cannot descend to the level that Obasanjo has himself sunk.
“As for his attacks of the administration’s records in fighting corruption, what the former President said is no more than evidence that President Buhari’s war against corruption is succeeding. They thought it is all a joke.
“A leader who took USD 16 billion “upfront” to supply electric power yet failed to add a single megawatt to the national grid and to date, there is no trace of the money is jittery that he will be called to account. He is a coward.
“Chief Obasanjo, manifesting a confused state of mind blames President Buhari for the fall of Libya into a failed state and the unholy alliance between the Boko Haram terrorists and the ISIS, while at the same time calling it an African problem, saying “the struggle must be for all West African, Central African, North African and most East African States,” which really does not amount to saying anything new.
“Nigerians looked up to him as a role model and a ray of hope to ethical and clean leadership until President Yar’Adua called him out to explain what happened to the sixteen billion dollars of taxpayer’s money. It is clear that with him sitting on top of the heap of corruption, he is no different from the crowd he leads.
“This language of his 16-page letter, likening President Buhari to General Sani Abacha, a man he dreaded and the one who jailed him under military laws is most unfitting from a former President of Nigeria.
“The claim that President Buhari has put in place rigging machinery is both outlandish and outrageous. We are unable to get the words to describe a 90-year old liar, except to say that by the publication of this tissue of lies against the President, he Obasanjo, not the President will fall from everyone’s esteem.”[What we need now is. Peace]

Health / Re: Effects Of Using Air Conditioner by Marymat2003: 02:37 pm On 1 Jan 2019
The heat during summer has made us fond of using Air conditioners (ACs) from our cars, office, and even every single room in our house. When temperature rises to about 45 degree, AC becomes more important to us. But staying under an AC for a long period of time always has negative side effects on us.

Below are some of the side effects of Air conditioners (ACs):

Dry skin
People who sit in AC indoor for long period of time can experience itchy and dry skin. Excessive exposure of the body to AC along side with sun can cause itchy and dry skin, your skin may return to normal during the few hours of staying outside, but the dryness of the skin may stay longer than before.

Respiratory problems
Staying for a long period of time in Air conditioners can result to respiratory problems in throat and nose. During this process one may experience nasal blockage, dry throat and even rhinitis.

Stuffy nose (rhinitis) is a situation which causes unusual swelling of the mucous membrane of the human nose.

Increase in Asthma and allergies
Air conditioner (Ac) can worsen the condition of individuals suffering from asthma or allergies. Although staying indoor can help those who are sensitive to pollutants, but others may experience the opposite side of it. When Air conditioners are not properly maintained and cleaned, it can worsen asthma and allergies problems.

Headaches
This is an unfortunate side effect of Air conditioners (ACs), especially when it is not well maintained. Dehydration can be trigger which is often unnoticed when it comes to migraines.

Staying under an air conditioner for a long period of time can cause dehydration which can also leads to headache.

Air Conditioners Can Cause Infectious Diseases
When you spend much time in Air conditioners (ACs) it can result in drying out the mucous membrane of the noise. When this mucous membrane is not well maintained it can make it to be more prone to viral infections.

Increase in Dry Eye symptoms
Dry eye will irritates and itch more if people suffering from such symptoms stay under the AC for a long period of time. It is advisable for people having this symptom not to stay for long in air conditioners (ACs), because it tends to worsen the situation.

US Politics / Re: 2 Us Service Members Killed In Isis-claimed Attack In Syria by Marymat2003: 06:24 pm On 1 Jan 2019
ISIS has claimed responsibility for a deadly explosion that killed two US service members, a defense contractor and a Department of Defense civilian in the Syrian city of Manbij on Wednesday, according to US Central Command.
The civilian was an intelligence expert who was with the troops hoping to collect information about security and adversaries in the area, according to three US officials.
The US-led coalition confirmed earlier Wednesday that US service members were killed in the attack, but did not provide details regarding the number of casualties at the time.

"U.S. service members were killed during an explosion while conducting a routine patrol in Syria today. We are still gathering information and will share additional details at a later time," a tweet from Operation Inherent Resolve's spokesperson said.
The names of the two US service members will be withheld for 24 hours until next of kin is notified in accordance with DOD policy, CENTCOM said in a statement.
Prior to Wednesday's attack, only two US service members had been killed in action in Syria since the start of the campaign in 2014.
There were several reported casualties in the city a militia controlling the city and a UK-based monitoring group said.

The ISIS-affiliated Amaq agency said the attack in the northern city of Manbij was carried out by a suicide bomber with an explosive vest.
"An explosion in Manbij's busy market street, initial reports of casualties," spokesman of the Manbij military council Shervan Darwish wrote on Twitter.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least eight people were killed.
A spokesperson for Operation Inherent Resolve tweeted Wednesday that the coalition is "still gathering information" about the explosion.
White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said President Donald Trump has been briefed on the situation and issued a statement on the attack later Wednesday.
"Our deepest sympathies and love go out to the families of the brave American heroes who were killed today in Syria. We also pray for the soldiers who were wounded in the attack. Our service members and their families have all sacrificed so much for our country," it said.
Vice President Mike Pence has also been briefed, according to a tweet from his press secretary.
However, Pence made no mention of the attack or the deaths of US service members while making remarks at the Global Chiefs of Mission conference at the US State Department Wednesday, claiming "The caliphate has crumbled, and ISIS has been defeated."

A White House official said the administration had not publicly confirmed the deaths of US service members when Pence made his remarks even though the coalition against ISIS tweeted a message confirming there had been US deaths nearly an hour before his speech.
Pence released his own statement after making those remarks saying, "We will never allow the remnants of ISIS to reestablish their evil and murderous caliphate -- not now, not ever. "
"President Trump and I condemn the terrorist attack in Syria that claimed American lives and our hearts are with the loved ones of the fallen. We honor their memory and we will never forget their service and sacrifice," he said.
However, he also indicated that the White House still intends to withdraw US troops from Syria.
"Thanks to the courage of our Armed Forces, we have crushed the ISIS caliphate and devastated its capabilities. As we begin to bring our troops home, the American people can be assured, for the sake of our soldiers, their families, and our nation, we will never allow the remnants of ISIS to reestablish their evil and murderous caliphate -- not now, not ever," the statement added.
The attack comes less than a month after Trump announced that US troops would withdraw from Syria. In making his announcement, Trump declared in a video released on Twitter: "We have won against ISIS. We've beaten them and we've beaten them badly. We've taken back the land and now it's time for our troops to come back home."
The US has about 2,000 troops in Syria, with no specific date for their withdrawal. Last week, the US began withdrawing some military ground equipment from Syria, according to an administration official with direct knowledge of the operation.
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, who was a harsh critic of Trump's plans to bring home US troops from Syria when the decision was announced earlier in December, said Wednesday that he is concerned that the President's statements about withdrawing from Syria have emboldened the enemy.
"My concern, by the statements made by President Trump, is that you set in motion enthusiasm by the enemy we're fighting. You make people we're trying to help wonder about us. And as they get bolder, the people we're trying to help are going to get more uncertain. I saw this in Iraq. And I'm now seeing it in Syria," Graham said during impromptu remarks at a Judiciary Committee hearing on Attorney General nominee William Barr.
"Every American wants our troops to come home, but I think all of us want to make sure that when they do come home, we're safe," he added. "So I would hope the President would look long at hard at where he's headed in Syria. I know people are frustrated, but we're never going to be safe here unless we're willing to help people over there who will stand up against this radical ideology."
During his surprise visit to Iraq on December 26, Trump was warned by military commanders that -- despite his claims -- ISIS was not entirely defeated in Syria. People familiar with the President's reaction said the conversation was eye-opening for a leader who, days earlier, claimed the terror group was defeated "badly" in the country.
The discussion occurred inside a tan tent at the al-Asad airbase west of Baghdad and included the US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman, Lieutenant General Paul LaCamera, national security adviser John Bolton, and the first lady Melania Trump, along with other officials.
Trump was told that pockets of ISIS militants remained in the Euphrates River valley and that the US military had not yet eliminated all of their strongholds. Commanders told him the US had been successful in taking back other areas but that the job was not finished.
The people familiar with the conversation described it as sobering, and said it broke through to Trump in a way his conversations with national security officials in Washington had not. Coming days after Trump's decision to withdraw troops from Syria, it centered partly on the remaining challenges of going after ISIS fighters in pockets of Syria.

In addition to the briefing from the commanders, Trump found the massive security apparatus on the trip surprising -- something his advisers told him was reflective of the remaining challenges against ISIS.
Still, it remains unclear whether Wednesday's attack will impact Trump's decision to pull US forces from Syria as top administration officials continue to qualify the terms and timing of a pullout -- altering the President's December 19 assertion that forces would leave "now."
After Trump declared that the US would pull troops from Syria and a US Defense official told CNN that planning was underway for a "full" and "rapid" withdrawal, national security adviser John Bolton began adding conditions that could indefinitely delay a troop departure and has refused to discuss timelines.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has also avoided offering a specific timeline but insisted in a Cairo speech last week that under the Trump administration, the US is a stalwart presence in the Mideast. He told reporters separately that "there's no contradiction whatsoever" in the US policy on Syria, arguing that "this is a story made up by the media."
At the same time, the top US diplomat has denied allies were confused about the US withdrawal from Syria. "I think everyone understands what the United States is doing," Pompeo said. "At least the senior leaders in their governments do."
Yet on the ground and in diplomatic circles, Trump's decision landed with explosive effect.
US allies in the region were blindsided. Two diplomatic sources say their countries were not consulted or informed and the news came as a total surprise.
But discussions about a US withdrawal have continued this week.

Trump and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan discussed "ongoing cooperation in Syria as US forces begin to withdraw" during a phone call Monday, just one day after Trump threatened to "devastate Turkey economically" if the NATO-allied country attacks Kurds in the region.
"The President expressed the desire to work together to address Turkey's security concerns in northeast Syria while stressing the importance to the United States that Turkey does not mistreat the Kurds and other Syrian Democratic Forces with whom we have fought to defeat ISIS," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement about the call.

Education / Re: Asuu Strike: Seun Kuti Blasts Parents For Attending Political Rallies by Marymat2003: 06:20 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Ahead of 2019 general elections, Seun Kuti, son of Afro legend, Fela, has called out Nigerian parents over the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

Kuti, in a post on his Instagram page, lamented that a religious issue such as the hijab crisis that happened in Ibadan could cause outrage but the closure of universities for months has not yielded any protest by parents.

According to the singer, the parents should not be seen at the rallies when some of them have kids who are not in school.

Alongside an inscription that read “Your children aren’t attending school but you are attending political rally. Are you maaaaad? Kuti wrote: “Until we are ready to serve our children and not just raise them, we shall never understand national development.

“How hijab crisis in a secular school can create more outrage than the closure of our universities for months is the proof we need to know that we are willing to serve everything else, but our children.”

Recall that universities in Nigeria have been on strike since November 4, 2018 over failure of government to fulfil its promise in the 2009 agreement with ASUU.

World Politics / Re: 2019 Prophesies, A Must Read by Marymat2003: 06:18 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Prophet Ayodele
Leader of the Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Ayodele Elijah Babatunde, has handed out a 21-day ultimatum to the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Peter Obi to do three things within 21 days for them to win the presidential poll. This is coming barely hours after he spoke to our correspondent also concerning the 2019 polls.
He said if his words were neglected, President Muhammadu Buhari would simply coast home to a resounding victory.
“They must fortify their party with Senate President, Bukola Saraki, becoming a major factor in the process; they must work on other techniques germane in winning; they must seriously go spiritual.
“The All Progressives Congress is very, very spiritual and needs a superior match to upstage (it),” he said.
“Atiku and Obi have bright chances but they have between Friday 21 and January 3, to determine if they will win or not, otherwise Buhari will return.
“They must fortify the party, work assiduously on other technicalities to win.”
Primate Ayodele however warned: “If Buhari wins a second time, he may not have the energy to handle governance as his health will still affect his performance. The president needs a lot of prayers for his health (to improve).”
Speaking further on the gubernatorial polls he said: “APC is very spiritual, the PDP should note this and work on it.
“APC will take Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, Jigawa, and Nasarawa, but they won’t take Niger and Adamawa. The poll in Oyo will be between ADC and PDP.
“Governor Amosun should not underestimate Dapo Abiodun as he will shake the state. Dapo Abiodun should also beware of Amosun’s candidate. Akpabio is so desirous to win Akwa Ibom for the presidency. PDP should note this and work more.
“Governor Wike will not have it easy winning a second time. He should note this. Two governors will betray Atiku in his ambition. Emmanuel Udom must also strategise if he wants to win. If APC is not very careful, they will lose Zamfara polls.
“Jigawa, Gombe Adamawa, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers will be war zones in the coming elections. Governor Akeredolu should be prayerful so that he won’t face daunting challenges. He must work so well on the court case. Not all the governors will complete their tenure.”
While advising the Presidency on insecurity, he said: “The president must tackle the challenge of armed bandits very well; he should not overlook it. The IGP will go this year. INEC will be taken to court over election results.
“If APC wins, Buhari will be the party’s last president. There will be serious crisis between Oshiomole and Buhari’s loyalists. Oshiomole will have problems after the presidential polls.
“In 2023, the presidency won’t go to the South West; it shall be between the North and South East but the South East must be smarter than everybody.
“Let us pray against storm and thunder disasters.”
He gave further predictions, saying:
“Let us pray against the death of a sitting president in the world, and plane crashes that will involve eminent personalities. There will be turbulence in the aviation sector but a Nigerian plane will escape a crash.
“There will still be more job losses this year especially among some new-generation banks. Political parties will clash seriously; they will stone one another and even kill.
“Kidnapping and other vices will be rampant.
“There will be ethnic clashes in the South-South. “There will be indictment against Atiku and also Buhari.
“Let us pray against accidents during the campaign across the nation.
“APC must work very hard in Edo less PDP will upstage the party. PDP will win in Kwara. Governor El Rufai will have it very hard getting a second term,”[God Will helpsof us
Bernadette Konjalo

Tuesday, January 15, will go down history books as another dark day in Kenya when 21 lives were lost during a deadly terror attack at the 14 Riverside complex.

Many of them having met their deaths untimely, it will take the country a pretty long time before coming to terms with their death. It will be worth noting the 21 died a heroic death in the face of terror among them, a bubbly young lady who worked as the dusitD2 Revenue director.

Bernadette Konjalo

Bernadette Konjalo, a true definition of beauty with brains had her colourful career in the hospitality industry brought to a sudden end when terrorists shot right through her hands into her face.

"Words will never be enough, you were one resilient lady I ever knew," wrote one of her friends.

When everyone was running to safety amidst gunshots and confusion, Konjalo put the lives of her colleagues and guests first. The Gatanga Girls' High School alumni met her untimely death while directing her colleagues and guests to safety zones via designated exit zones.

Born in a family of four siblings hailing from Dondi village Siaya county in Kenya , Konjalo was the last born and a darling to many owing to her kindness and generosity.

Konjalo was not only a darling to her workmates and family, but also her former school mates who have seemingly been shocked by her sudden death. Having shown leadership skills from a tender age, Konjalo was assigned dinning hall prefect at Gatanga Girls' High School.

According to her former school mates, she was the most loved among the prefects and easy to go to person. The ever-smiling girl worked at Tribe Hotel for six years before moving to dusitD2 Hotel in March, 2014.

While at dusitD2, she slowly rose up the ranks from the position of assistant front office manager to the director of revenue.

US Politics / Re: Trump To Meet Families Of Us Troops Killed In Syria by Marymat2003: 03:43 pm On 1 Jan 2019
US President Donald Trump made a surprise announcement on Saturday that he would be travelling to meet the families of four US personnel killed in northern Syria.

He tweeted: “Will be leaving for Dover to be with the families of four very special people who lost their lives in service to our Country!”

Dover refers to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

Nineteen people including the four Americans were killed in a suicide bombing on a small restaurant in the flashpoint northern Syrian town of Manbij on Wednesday.

The attack, claimed by the Islamic State group, was the deadliest to hit US troops since they deployed to Syria in 2014.

It came after Trump’s shock announcement last month that he was ordering a full troop withdrawal from the country because the jihadists had been “largely defeated.”

Two US service members, one Department of Defense civilian and one contractor were among those killed in the Manbij attack.

After sweeping across swathes of Syria and Iraq in 2014, the jihadists’ cross-border “caliphate” has been erased by multiple offensives and is now confined to a tiny embattled enclave in eastern Syria close to the Iraqi border.

But despite the stinging defeats, IS has proved it is still capable of carrying out deadly attacks using hideouts in the sprawling desert or sleeper cells in the towns.

Agriculture / Re: Agricultural Investments Will Bring Nigeria Out Of Poverty, Says Osinbajo by Marymat2003: 03:39 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Agricultural Investment Will Bring Nigeria Out Of Poverty, Says OsinbajoVice President Yemi Osinbajo addressing an audience in August 2018.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says there is a need to invest in agriculture to take the nation out of poverty.

He made the recommendation on Thursday in Abuja while launching the Green Imperative, a project of the Federal Government in collaboration with the Brazilian government.

“Frankly, we believe we cannot bring our nation out of poverty, especially the large numbers of the poor without significant investments in agriculture and, of course, mechanised agriculture,” the Vice President was quoted as saying in a statement by his media aide, Mr Laolu Akande.

He added, “But also because we know the sheer number of young people who are coming into our population in the next 10 – 15 years, will certainly not only need to be fed, but will also need to have jobs, and the sort of jobs that these young people will want will not be jobs requiring hoes and cutlasses.”

Professor Osinbajo noted that the young generation would need more dignified jobs while the government would be able to achieve more with mechanisation.

He stressed that the only way the nation can make the quantum leap required to advance its economy and provide the number of jobs needed was simply what the government was doing.

The Vice President highlighted the progress made so far, saying there would be a combination of service centres where technical capacity and training would take place.

According to him, the major dividends of all these are the hundreds of thousands of quality jobs that young men and women will be able to access.

“Today, we have made a significant difference in our journey, not just in self-sufficiency in food production, but also in creating the kinds of jobs that we could have from agriculture,” said Osinbajo.

“Also crucial is the fact that the private sector is an important component of this particular enterprise … we have ensured that this will be private sector driven and we have here today, both Nigerian and Brazilian investors committed to investing and working on this project.”

He said President Muhammadu Buhari’s dream of self-sufficiency in food production has moved closer to realisation, as the nation would be able to produce food for its people in the next couple of years.

The Vice President was also hopeful that there would be employment not just in agriculture, but in all of the agro-allied value chain and manufacturing.

Weird News / Re: Burkina Faso Prime Minister, Entire Government Resign by Marymat2003: 03:36 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Burkina Faso’s government and Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba stood down on Friday, according to a statement released by the country’s president.

No explanation was given for the resignations, though sources told AFP President Roch Marc Christian Kabore wants to breathe new life into the leadership of the landlocked west African country, which is battling a rising wave of jihadist attacks and hostage-taking.

Canadian Edith Blais, 34, and her Italian partner Luca Tacchetto, 30, have been missing since mid-December, and late Wednesday a Canadian geologist kidnapped by suspected jihadists was found dead at a remote gold mine in the northeast.

“Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba submitted this afternoon his resignation as well as that of his government,” the statement said.

“The president of Faso accepted the resignation” and expressed “all his gratitude to Prime Minister Paul Kaba Thieba and all its ministers for their commitment to the service of the nation,” the statement added.

President Kabore chose experienced economist Thieba as prime minister in January 2016. However, in recent months several political opponents have been calling for his resignation and that of ministers in charge of security and defence.

Burkina Faso lies in the heart of the vast Sahel region, which is struggling with a bloody Islamist insurgency.

The region turned into a hotbed of violent extremism and lawlessness after chaos engulfed Libya in 2011.

An Islamist insurgency began in northern Mali, while Boko Haram rose in northern Nigeria.

Jihadist raids began in northern Burkina Faso in 2015 before spreading to the east, near the border with Togo and Benin.

As a Nigerian, you might dismiss this survey as untrue on religious and cultural basis; however, Durex may not be far from the truth actually.

I mean I TRIED to satisfy her as a man the best way I can, the s*x wasn’t bad (at least not to me…I ASSUMED); although I was battling with some s*xUAL ISSUES, however, she always told me that there was no problem that she loves me regardless of my s*xual weaknesses. My first impulse was to pick a knife off the kitchen cabinet. I almost did. If I had done that, chances were that I would have committed murder that day and my entire family and bright career would have been brought to shambles.

Weird News / Re: Teacher Suspended In South Africa Over Racist Picture by Marymat2003: 09:21 pm On 1 Jan 2019
White and black schoolchildren were seated apart from each other at Laerskool Schweizer-Reneke. Credit: BBC
A South African primary school teacher was suspended on Thursday after a photograph appeared to show black children sitting separately from white children in a classroom, sparking a storm of racism accusations.

The pupils were attending their first day at the Schweizer-Reneke school in North West province when the teacher took a photograph to send to anxious parents.

It rapidly spread on social media as it showed about 17 white children sitting around a large table, with four black children around a small corner table in the background.

“From the information, I got from the meeting, it seems that there are a lot of cases here of racism,” provincial education minister Sello Lehari said after visiting the school.

“I will send a team to do an investigation into all schools… to deal with issues of racism in totality.”

Race relations remain tense in South Africa 25 years after the end of white-minority apartheid rule, with fierce racist controversies erupting regularly on social media and in politics.

“We saw the photo and we were also angered by what we saw,” Jozeph du Plessis, chairman of the school’s governors, told the eNCA television channel.

“The kids were quite unsettled — you must realise they were five years old on their first day at school — and she grouped them in a way she thought would settle them quickly and comfort them.

“There was no intent of racism or segregation from the teacher’s side.

“We are investigating — perhaps it could be a language issue, perhaps those kids are not speaking Afrikaans, but I can’t speculate.”

Some white parents on Thursday took their children away from the school after protesters gathered outside.

Education / Re: Asuu Reveals When Strike Will Be Called Off by Marymat2003: 04:53 pm On 1 Jan 2019
The Academic Staff Union of Universities,
ASUU, has disclosed what the Federal
Government must urgently do in order to end
its lingering industrial action.
In an exclusive chat with DAILY POST, on
Monday night, the National President of ASUU,
Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said the strike will be
called off as soon as the Federal Government
meets it renewed demands.
Ogunyemi also said that ASUU will convey the
outcome of it’s consultations to government
and once government implements its resolution,
the strike would be called off.
According to Ogunyemi: “ASUU will call off as
soon as the Federal Government meets its
demand. The government has proposed what
they want to do so we will respond after
consultation.
“We will convey the points of our consultation
to them tomorrow (today) and as soon as we
do that, we expect them to address the
minimum demand because ASUU has pencilled
down their demands but what government gave
was too low for them and that is why they
have rejected their proposal.
“ASUU is now getting back to the government
with a new minimum, we have bent backwards
in the interest of our students and the Nigerian
Society,” he said.
On universities pulling out of the strike, he
said: “Well, there are some of our branches
that have disagreements, majority of our
branches are intact.
“When we resumed the strike on November 4,
some of our people said they will not
participate because they had issues with the
union so those ones are free to exercise their
rights and very soon ASUU will return to the
same fold.
“And for weakening our strike, even those who
are not part of it, they believe that we are
fighting for a just course and they identify with
us, they are with us in spirit. There are places
where Vice Chancellors are coercing our
members but we are rising in their defence and
where they are been overwhelmed and we are
unable to help, for now, we will come back and
address such issues. We are convinced that
victory is certain in this ongoing struggle
because it’s in the interest of the universities
and the Nigerian nation.”[we should focus more on education ]

Religion / Re: The Healthy Society by Marymat2003: 04:51 pm On 1 Jan 2019
The healthy society is a society
of bias and prejudice --- bias
and prejudice against sin,
immorality, wrong; against
adultery, fornication,
promiscuity, homos*xuality, lying,
cheating, dishonesty. It is a
society in which there are
strong values, attitudes and
pressures favoring goodness and
right and in opposition to
immorality and badness. Social
taboos and pressures of the right
kind are important to the
emotional and mental health and
development of the individual.
And a society is made up of
individuals. It is important to
emotional health and personal
happiness that there be social
pressures which prompt in the
right direction, pressures
prompting in the direction of
morality and conscience. It is
important that social attitudes
support and reinforce that
voice within us and not oppose
it. If a society becomes so
corrupted that the prevailing
social attitudes and pressures
are in opposition to goodness,
morality and conscience, most
individuals become mislead into
bad and harmful ways. Why?
Because most people are sheep;
they are followers, imitators.
They follow the crowd. If others
are doing it, they do it,
too. They are naive, easily
believe a lie --- especially if it
is a lie they would like to
believe. If societal attitudes are
permissive, it provides them
excuses and they follow their base
inclinations. The end result is
that they shipwreck on the
shoals of life. Sin is
foolishness and brings its
consequences
--- in this life.
How are social attitudes and
pressures created? 1. The mass
media (television, press, motion
pictures). 2. Preachers;
churches and their teachings. 3.
Laws and their enforcement.
Laws and their enforcement can
support good values and
outlooks. They can also support
bad values and outlooks. If
adultery and homos*xuality is
against the law and that law is
rigorously enforced that creates
one social climate. If the
law allows them, that creates
another. If the laws encourage
the teachings of Christianity in
schools, that creates one
social climate. If they forbid
it, that creates another social
climate.
Where can one find those right
values and attitudes that make
for a healthy society? In the
Bible, in Christianity. Where
do wrong values and attitudes
come from? From the sinful heart
and intellect of man at odds with
God; from Satan. Man in
rebellion against God -- it is an
age-old saga.[we need a society where CHRIST is present ]

Crime / Re: Photos Of Police Officers Destroying Hard Drugs Worth Over N400 Million In Lagos by Marymat2003: 04:42 pm On 1 Jan 2019
The Lagos State Police Command, on Wednesday, destroyed psychoactive drugs and other substances valued at over N400m in Igbe, Ikorodu area of the state, The Punch reports.

The Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said the illicit items were recovered during a raid on criminal hideouts and two other sources based on intelligence gathering.

According to him, drugs and arms promote crime.

He added that it was based on this that the command intensified the fight against hard drug sale and consumption in order to stamp out criminality in the state.

Imohimi explained that since the beginning of the year, the command had been able to seize large quantities of cannabis, cocaine, heroin, Tramadol, codeine and other psychoactive substances.

The CP praised the synergy between the police and other security agencies, noting that the collaboration had paid off in the course of his service in the state.

He also thanked the state government for assisting the police in tackling crime in Lagos.

Due to storage space constraints, the CP added that the police had to apply to the court for permission to publicly destroy the illicit drugs, noting that the stores where they were kept had been overstretched.

Imohimi stated, “Between the first day of January and now, we have been able to recover the following categories of drugs: Indian hemp, cocaine, heroin, Tramadol, codeine and other psychoactive substances, with a street value of well over N400m.

“One good thing I am happy about since I came to Lagos is the assistance I have been receiving from both the state government and other security agencies. I went into early partnerships with the other security agencies, which are well represented here today, and most importantly, with the state government.

“This synergy with them has paid off as we are witnessing the destruction of these psychoactive drugs and other substances.

“Those of us, who are students of police science, will know that there is a very close nexus between drugs and crime. In fact, the two strongest elements for the commission of a crime are the availability of arms and drugs, and that is why I have taken very seriously the fight against drug sales, consumption and proliferation in the city.

“In that wise, since most of our stores and exhibit rooms are filled to capacity, we decided to approach the court for permission to publicly destroy these substances.”

The CP assured Lagosians that the partnership with the other security agencies, the state government as well as community-based groups would be strengthened.

He added that the police would go from community to community and from street to street to rid the state of drugs.

Religion / Re: God's Message To The World: Repent Of Your Sins And Turn To God! by Marymat2003: 04:39 pm On 1 Jan 2019
God has a message for this world
and he wants this message
proclaimed. It is the message
that was preached by the great
prophets of the Old Testament.
It is the message that was
preached by Jesus Christ when he
was here on this earth. And
it is the message that Jesus
instructed his followers to preach
to the entire world. That
message is: REPENT OF YOUR SINS,
TURN AWAY FROM THEM, AND TURN TO
GOD! Forsake the way of
Darkness and Sin and turn to the
way of Light, Life and Truth
as found in Jesus Christ. If you
do this there is forgiveness
for you. If you do not the
consequences are very dire.
Turn to God. Commit your heart
and life to him. Renounce the
Way of the World. Become a
believer in Jesus Christ and a
follower of His way. Become a
Christian. Jesus said, "I am
the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me, though
he may die, he shall live. And
whoever lives and believes in
me shall never die." (John
11:25-26) and "I am the way, the
truth and the life. No man comes
to the Father except through
me." (John 14:6). Jesus died for
our sins. By his atonement
we can have life if we serve him.
Christianity is about a personal
relationship with God: a
relationship characterized by a
love of God and the following
of His way, not from fear, but
from love. It is about an
allegiance to God, a commitment
of heart and life to him. It
is about living by God's
principles and rules. It is about
following in God's way. And what
is God's way? The Way of God
is the way taught to us by Jesus
Christ. It is the Way of
Jesus. God's way is the way of
honesty, integrity, goodness,
virtue, moral purity. We live in
a world that is deeply depraved,
very immoral, terribly wicked.
God's way is a way that is
diametrically opposite to the
ways, outlooks and values of this
world. God is a biased being. He
is not tolerant of sin. He
has a very strong bias against
sin. He has created a hell as
punishment for the sinner. The
Bible clearly states that
fornicators, adulterers and
homos*xuals will go to hell.
God's way is a morally straight,
virtuous, clean life. If moral
straightness, chastity and
cleanness are puritanical, then the
Bible is a very puritanical book.
Someone may ask, "What is
sin?" The answer to that question
is, "Sin is what God says is
sin." He is our maker. He tells
us how he expects us to behave.
If we defy him and live however
we please, it is at our own peril.
We have been dully warned. He has
repeatedly given mankind warning
of the consequences of sin. It is
eternal hell. There will be a
day of judgment when all will be
judged. No one will be exempt.
John the Baptist preached a fire
and brimstone message of
repentance. Jesus preached the
same message. We live in a world
that very badly needs to listen
to that message. We live in an age
of great Christian apostasy. It
is everywhere. True Christianity
is very hard to find. Most
Christianity is nominal Christianity.
People go through motions. They
think they are Christians because
they attend a certain church.
They trust what the preacher is
telling them. The true message of
the Bible is rarely heard today.
It is just not socially
acceptable. It is not politically
correct.
Hence it has been altered,
twisted, distorted, diluted, sugar-
coated,
or replaced with a completely
false message just to make it
attractive
and popular with the masses. One
finds the truth by serious reading
of the Bible. That is the only
way. You cannot trust man.
Most people have no convictions.
On religious matters, they don't
know what to think. They are
easily misled. And they are too
lazy
to think or act. So they go with
the flow, follow the crowd. They
think they can't go wrong by
following the crowd. They feel,
"The majority can't be wrong."
Well, that is a terrible mistake.
That is the road to hell. The
crowd is almost always wrong.
Ezek 18:21-23 But if the wicked
will turn from all his sins
that he hath committed, and keep
all my statutes, and do that
which is lawful and right, he
shall surely live, he shall not
die. {22} All his transgressions
that he hath committed, they
shall not be mentioned unto him:
in his righteousness that he
hath done he shall live. {23}
Have I any pleasure at all that
the wicked should die? saith the
Lord GOD: and not that he
should return from his ways, and
live?
1 Cor 6:9-10 Do you not know
that the unrighteous will not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do
not be deceived. Neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor homos*xuals,
nor sodomites, {10} nor thieves,
nor covetous, nor drunkards,
nor revilers, nor extortioners
will inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God
is not mocked: for whatsoever
a man soweth, that shall he also
reap. {8} For he that soweth
to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption; but he that
soweth to the Spirit shall of the
Spirit reap life everlasting.
Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of
the flesh are manifest, which
are these: Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness,
{20} Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath,
strife, seditions, heresies, {21}
Envyings, murders,
drunkenness, revellings, and such
like; of the which I tell you
before, as I have also told you
in time past, that they which
do such things shall not inherit
the kingdom of God.
Eph 5:3-12 But fornication, and
all uncleanness, or
covetousness, let it not be once
named among you, as becometh
saints; {4} Neither filthiness,
nor foolish talking, nor
jesting, which are not
convenient: but rather giving of
thanks.
{5} For this ye know, that no
whoremonger, nor unclean person,
nor covetous man, who is an
idolater, hath any inheritance in
the kingdom of Christ and of God.
{6} Let no man deceive you
with vain words: for because of
these things cometh the wrath
of God upon the children of
disobedience. {7} Be not ye
therefore partakers with them.
{8} For ye were sometimes
darkness, but now are ye light in
the Lord: walk as children of
light: {9} (For the fruit of the
Spirit is in all goodness and
righteousness and truth;) {10}
Proving what is acceptable unto
the Lord. {11} And have no
fellowship with the unfruitful works
of darkness, but rather reprove
them. {12} For it is a shame
even to speak of those things
which are done of them in secret.
Prov 24:12 If thou sayest,
Behold, we knew it not; doth not
he that pondereth the heart
consider it? and he that keepeth
thy soul, doth not he know it?
and shall not he render to every
man according to his works?
Mat 16:27 For the Son of man
shall come in the glory of his
Father with his angels; and then
he shall reward every man
according to his works.
Heb 9:27 It is appointed unto
man once to die .. and after that
the judgment.
Gen 6:5-6 And God saw that the
wickedness of man was great in
the earth, and that every
imagination of the thoughts of his
heart was only evil continually.
{6} And it repented the LORD
that he had made man on the
earth, and it grieved him at his
heart.
Jer 17:9-10 The heart is
deceitful above all things, and
desperately wicked: who can know
it? {10} I the LORD search
the heart, I try the reins, even
to give every man according
to his ways, and according to the
fruit of his doings.
Ezek 18:4 The soul that
sinneth, it shall die.
Jer 17:7-8 Blessed is the man
that trusteth in the LORD, and
whose hope is in him. {8} For he
shall be as a tree planted
by the waters, that spreadeth out
her roots by the river.
She does not fear when heat
cometh; but her leaf shall be
green; and is not anxious in the
year of drought, neither
shall cease from yielding fruit.
Mat 6:19-21 Lay not up for
yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break
through and steal: {20} But lay
up for yourselves treasures in
heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where
thieves do not break through nor
steal: {21} For where your
treasure is, there will your
heart be also.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you.
Mat 7:7-14 Ask, and it shall be
given you; seek, and ye shall
find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you: {8} For every one
that asketh receiveth; and he
that seeketh findeth; and to him
that knocketh it shall be opened.
{9} Or what man is there of
you, whom if his son ask bread,
will he give him a stone? {10}
Or if he ask a fish, will he give
him a serpent? {11} If ye
then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall
your Father which is in heaven
give good things to them that ask
him? {12} Therefore all
things whatsoever ye would that
men should do to you, do ye
even so to them: for this is the
law and the prophets. {13}
Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the gate, and broad
is the way, that leadeth to
destruction, and many there be
which go in thereat: {14} Because
strait is the gate, and
narrow is the way, which leadeth
unto life, and few there be
that find it.
Mat 22:37-40 Thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind. {38} This
is the first and great
commandment. {39} And the second is
like
unto it, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. {40} On
these two commandments hang all
the law and the prophets.
Mat 11:28-30 Come unto me, all
ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest.
{29} Take my yoke upon you,
and learn of me; for I am meek
and lowly in heart: and ye shall
find rest unto your souls. {30}
For my yoke is easy, and my
burden is light.
Isa 57:20 But the wicked are
like the troubled sea, when it
cannot rest, whose waters cast up
mire and dirt. {21} There is
no peace, saith my God, to the
wicked.
Prov 8:36 But he that sinneth
against me wrongeth his own
soul: all they that hate me love
death.
Matt 12:36 But I say unto you,
That every idle word that men
shall speak, they shall give
account thereof in the day of
judgment.
Matt 13:40-42 As therefore the
tares are gathered and burned
in the fire; so shall it be in
the end of this world. {41} The
Son of man shall send forth his
angels, and they shall gather
out of his kingdom all things
that offend, and them which do
iniquity; {42} And shall cast
them into a furnace of fire:
there shall be wailing and
gnashing of teeth.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead,
small and great, stand
before God; and the books were
opened: and another book was
opened, which is the book of
life: and the dead were judged out
of those things which were
written in the books, according to
their works. {13} And the sea
gave up the dead which were in
it; and death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in
them: and they were judged every
man according to their works.
{15} And whosoever was not found
written in the book of life
was cast into the lake of fire.
John 4:13-14 Jesus answered and
said to her, "Whoever drinks
of this water will thirst again,
{14} "but whoever drinks of
the water that I shall give him
will never thirst. But the
water that I shall give him will
become in him a fountain of
water springing up into
everlasting life."
John 7:37-38 On the last day,
that great day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried out,
saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him
come to me and drink. {38} "He
who believes in me, as the
Scripture has said, out of his
heart will flow rivers of living
water."
John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to
them again, saying, "I am
the light of the world. He who
follows me shall not walk in
darkness, but have the light of
life."
Rev 3:19-20 be zealous
therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I
stand
at the door, and knock: if any
man hear my voice, and open the
door, I will come in to him, and
will sup with him, and he with
me.[repentance is the only way to God ]

Religion / Re: The Main Ingredient In Effective Prayer by Marymat2003: 04:34 pm On 1 Jan 2019
It’s tragic how easily we can miss the
main ingredient in effective prayer.
In our sin, we’ve been rewired to
focus on us — on the steps we should
take for our prayers to be heard. We
have this bent toward believing that
every result is born from method. If
something works for somebody, we
want to know what that somebody is
doing.
We’ve developed the assumption that
if we can just strip it all down to a
reproducible process to put into
action, then the results will multiply.
While this applies to certain things, it
doesn’t apply to prayer — or at least
that’s not the vision the apostle James
gives us. The main ingredient in
effective prayer is emphatically not us.
Many of us find James 5:16 to be a
familiar verse: “The prayer of a
righteous person has great power as it
is working” — which is also translated,
as an ESV footnote spells out, “The
effective prayer of a righteous person
has great power.”
This is one of those coffee-mug verses.
It’s commonly understood like this: Be
righteous, and your prayers will work.
It’s what I used to think. But that’s the
skim-milk meaning. It’s what happens
when we fly by the text without
questions. Our broken bent is to make
the burden of this passage something
to do with us. We simply settle to think
that, if we want our prayers to be
effective, then we need to be
righteous.
But this reading doesn’t hold up.
First, look at the context surrounding
James 5:16 . James’s whole point is that
prayer is effective. He asks in
James 5:13 , “Is anyone among you
suffering?” Then he replies, “Let him
pray.” What about cheerfulness? Or
sickness? Or sin? In each case, James
encourages his readers to pray. Why?
Because prayer is effective, which
means, God hears his people and acts
on their behalf.
Then, in the beginning of verse 16,
because prayer is effective
(James 5:13–15 ), he says, “Therefore,
confess your sins to one another and
pray for one another, that you may be
healed” (James 5:16 ). To make it even
clearer, he follows this with, “The
effective prayer of a righteous person
has great power.” That line is the
second portion in a double dose of
support for our praying. James’s point
is to repeat his theme to pray because
prayer is effective. His concern is not
how prayer is made effective, but that
prayer is effective. And then verse 17
comes to ground that point.
James 5:17 then brings in Elijah.
“Elijah was a man with a nature like
ours, and he prayed fervently.”
What does Elijah have to do with our
praying? Does it mean that Elijah was
righteous and his prayers worked, so
we should be like Elijah for our
prayers to work too? Is that what he is
saying?
No way.
Look at the book. James says that
Elijah was a man with a nature like
ours. He was just a man. He was like
us. He had a nature like ours. And
being just a man, being like us, having
a nature like ours, he prayed fervently
and God heard. The point is not that
we should be righteous at the
extraordinary level of an Elijah, but
that he was normal like you and me.
James doesn’t say for us to be like
Elijah for our prayers to be answered,
but that Elijah was like us and his
prayers were answered — therefore,
pray.
This means that the locus of effective
prayer is not us, but God. Prayer has
less to do with the specifics of how we
say what we say, and more to do with
the one to whom we are saying it.
We pray as ordinary people who have
an extraordinary God. We’re just
normal, you and I. We’re just normal
like Elijah. Prayer is effective, not
because of great men who pray, but
because of a great God who in Christ
graciously hears his people.
He’s the main ingredient. So, pray. prayer is a means of communication with God ]
Marriage is the only school where you get certificate before you start.
It's also a school where you will never graduate.
It's a school without break or a free period.
It's a school no one is allowed to drop out.
It's a school you will have to attend everyday of your life.
It's a school where there is no sick leave or holidays
It's a school founded by God:
1.On the foundation of love.
2.The walls are made out of trust.
3.The door made of acceptance.
4.The windows made out of understanding.
5.The furniture made of blessing.
Be reminded that you are just a student not the principal.
God is the only principal.
Even in times of storms, don't be unwise and run outside.
Keep in mind that this school is the safest place to be.
Never go to sleep before completing your assignment for the day.
Never forget the C-word.......communication.
Communicate with your classmate and with the principal.
If you find out something in your classmate (spouse)that you do not appreciate let him/her know.
Remember your classmate is also just a student not a graduate, God is not with him/her yet.
So take it as a challenge and work on it together.
Do not forget to study the Holy book(the main text of the school).
Start each day with a sacred assembly and end it the same way.
Sometimes you will feel like not attending classes, yet you have to.
When tempted to quit find courage and continue.
Some tests and exams may be tough but remember you are in a school.

It's one of the best schools on earth;joy, peace and happiness accompany each lesson of the day.
Different subjects are offered in this school, yet love is the major subject.
After all the years of theorizing about it, now you have a chance to practice it.

World Politics / Re: Atiku Vows To Enrich Friends If Elected President by Marymat2003: 03:52 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Atiku speaks during a meeting with the business community in Lagos. Twitter/@Mmadudili

The People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday at a business summit in Lagos vowed to enrich his friends if elected president.

“I am not going to enrich members of my family but my friends.

“Are my friends not entitled to be enriched? As long as there is no element of corruption there,” the former vice president said.

A Eurasia Group report published on January 7 said that Atiku will enrich himself and his cronies if elected president and would also “pose the risk of a return to an even more rent-seeking governing style'”

The US Political risk consultancy group labelled Atiku a “gerontocrat who would focus on enriching himself and his cronies, avoiding the difficult and politically unpopular tasks necessary for reform.”

Atiku and his running mate Peter Obi were speaking to the business community in Lagos as part of their campaign for the February 2019 elections.

Atiku, while discussing one of his key campaign points, the privatisation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), vowed to carry out the privatisation even if there are threats to his life.

“I am committed to privatizing NNPC, I said it. I swear. Even if they are going to kill me, I will do it.

“At the end of the day, privatizing NNPC is going to be to our own advantage because you are not going to lose anything”, the Atiku said.

Atiku oversaw the privatization of hundreds of loss-making and underperforming public institutions when he was vice president under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure.

“And there was none during our time, when we privatized the banks, when we privatized institutions of the private sector,” Atiku said at the business summit.

“I have not heard anybody coming to say either the president or myself, took money to do that.

“So the intention of deregulating the economy and giving the private sector the responsibility of driving the economy, of course is to bring about prosperity to members of the public.”

In explaining part of his strategy to tackle corruption, at the event, themed “Getting Nigeria’s Economy Working : A Pragmatic Approach”, Atiku promised to implement an effective monitoring system to checkmate corrupt officials.

“If you make it mandatory and compulsory for every public official who has to issue an approval, a license or anything to the private sector or anybody for that matter will lose his job, and you have an efficient monitoring system, you would have dealt a blow to corruption.”[Not only friends but the suffering masses!]

Health / Re: 10 Everyday Superfoods by Marymat2003: 03:48 pm On 1 Jan 2019
But some foods deemed "super" are a little
too exotic to fit into our everyday diets (ahem,
goji berry?!) or something—like, say, sardines—
that you'd only have once in a while. Healthy?
Yes. Would you eat them every day? Probably
not. And while we're all for trying new foods,
especially the super healthy kind, it's nice to
know that you can stock up on superfood
staples every week and they'll be easy to fit
into your diet.
So, here are 10 easy-to-eat, easy-to-find,
everyday superfoods to keep eating healthy
simple.
Get More: 7-Day Superfood Meal Plan
1. Berries
Pictured Recipe: Berry-Almond Smoothie Bowl
All berries are great sources of fiber—a
nutrient that most Americans don't get enough
of. Fiber helps keep your digestive system
healthy and working properly (ahem...) and is
good for your heart and your waistline, since
it's so filling. All berries are good for you so
be sure to mix it up. In the winter, when
berries aren't in season, grab frozen (without
sweeteners) which are great for smoothies,
oatmeal, or thawed in yogurt. Raspberries
boast the most fiber at 8 grams per cup—and
also contain ellagic acid, a compound with
anti-cancer properties. The same amount of
blueberries has half the fiber (4 grams), but is
packed with anthocyanins, antioxidants that
may help keep memory sharp as you age. A
cup of strawberries contains 3 grams of fiber,
but more than a full day's recommended dose
of skin-firming vitamin C.
2. Eggs
Pictured Recipe: Avocado Egg Chilaquiles
A source of high-quality protein, eggs might
give your meal more staying power too. One
egg has about 70 calories and 6 grams of
protein. Plus, egg yolks contain lutein and
zeaxanthin—two antioxidants that help keep
eyes healthy. In fact, mounting research links
lutein and zeaxanthin with reduced risk for
age-related macular degeneration, the leading
cause of blindness in people over 50. And
lutein also may help to shield your skin from
UV damage. Who knew the humble egg was
so nutritious?
3. Tea
Pictured recipe: Soothing Ginger-Lemon Tea
Studies show if you drink tea regularly, you
may reduce your risk of Alzheimer's, diabetes
and some cancers, plus have healthier teeth
and gums and stronger bones. How? Tea is
rich in a class of antioxidants called
flavonoids. Regardless of the variety of tea
you choose, maximize the power of its
flavonoids by drinking it freshly brewed. If you
want to keep a batch of cold tea in your
refrigerator, add a little lemon juice—the citric
acid and vitamin C in that squeeze of lemon,
lime or orange help preserve the flavonoids.
4. Nuts
Pictured Recipe: Dark Chocolate Trail Mix
What can't nuts do? They're packed with
healthy polyunsaturated fats and magnesium,
two important nutrients for heart health. These
nutrients may also offer protection against
insulin resistance, which can lead to diabetes.
Antioxidant compounds found in nuts, including
ellagic acid and resveratrol, can reduce the
wear and tear on your body from free radicals.
In turn, this lowers inflammation, which may
reduce cancer risk. Plus, nuts provide
insoluble fiber, which studies suggest may
help you stay healthy by feeding beneficial gut
bacteria. Spread nut B*tter on toast, grab a
handful of nuts for a snack or make your own
simple trail mix.
5. Oranges
Pictured Recipe: Carrot-Orange Juice
Oranges are an underrated fruit. But the
humble orange is an excellent source of
vitamin C, just one large orange (or a cup of
OJ) contains a full day's dose. Vitamin C is
critical for producing white blood cells and
antibodies that fight off infections; it's also a
powerful antioxidant that helps protect cells
from free-radical damage and plays a key role
in producing skin-firming collagen. Oranges
are also high in fiber and folate.
6. Sweet Potatoes
Pictured Recipe: Salmon & Sweet Potato
Buddha Bowls
Sweet potatoes are so brilliantly orange
thanks to their alpha and beta carotene. The
body converts these compounds into the
active form of vitamin A, which helps keep
your eyes, bones and immune system healthy.
These phytochemicals also operate as
antioxidants, sweeping up disease-promoting
free radicals. One medium sweet potato—or
about 1/2 cup—provides nearly four times the
recommended daily value of vitamin A, plus
some vitamin C and B6, potassium,
manganese and lutein and zeaxanthin.
7. Broccoli
Pictured Recipe: Balsamic & Parmesan
Broccoli
This green powerhouse packs vitamins A, C
and K (which helps with bone health), as well
as folate. There is another reason broccoli
frequently earns a top spot on "superfoods"
lists: it delivers a healthy dose of
sulforaphane, a type of isothiocyanate that is
thought to thwart cancer by helping to
stimulate the body's detoxifying enzymes.
8. Oats
Pictured Recipe: Creamy Blueberry-Pecan
Oatmeal
Oats are a breakfast staple and quite the
superfood. Eating more oats is an easy way to
up your fiber intake, a nutrient most of us
don't get enough of. Fiber is good for our guts
and our waistlines and for keeping us full—all
very important qualities in a breakfast food.
Plus, oats are a whole grain and plain oats
don't have any added sugar. For a superfood
meal or snack start with plain oats and turn
them into healthy meals and snacks like
blueberry oat cakes, homemade granola to
enjoy with fruit and yogurt or DIY energy bites
with peanut B*tter.
9. Spinach
Pictured Recipe: Spinach Salad with Japanese
Ginger Dressing
Dark leafy greens do a body good. Spinach is
teeming with important nutrients: vitamins A,
C and K—as well as some fiber, iron, calcium,
potassium, magnesium and vitamin E. Studies
have found that eating more greens , like
spinach, can help you lose weight, reduce your
risk of diabetes, keep your brain young and
help fight off cancer.
10. Yogurt
Pictured Recipe: Raspberry Yogurt with Dark
Chocolate
Yogurt contains probiotics or "good bacteria"
that help keep our guts healthy. It's also rich
in calcium. Just 1 cup of yogurt provides
nearly half the recommended daily value of
calcium and delivers phosphorus, potassium,
zinc, riboflavin, vitamin B12 and protein.
Choose Greek yogurt for an even bigger
protein boost and whenever possible reach for
plain. Flavored yogurts tend to have lots of
added sugar which add calories without
nutrition.[Good food, good health!]

Romance / Re: What Makes A Relationship Strong: Useful Tips by Marymat2003: 03:36 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Everyone dreams of a love story that will
last forever. However, nothing comes
without efforts, and you also have to be
compatible with your partner and have
similar goals. Not every couple can build a
serious relationship, which will make them
stay together for many years. In this
article, you will find out what makes a
relationship strong, and useful tips on
strengthening your union with your
partner.
What makes a relationship strong and last long?
Usually, we are being told by the
societal norms that we necessarily need
a partner to be complete and fulfilled in
life. Even if the main way you can reach
harmony and peace is self-love and
respect, many of us still can not help but
wish they were also loved by someone.
However, not many people know how
healthy relationships work. Sometimes,
we can compare our regular real-life
relationships to all the fairy tales that
the media shows us.
In the romantic comedies and
melodramas, the standards are set
unrealistically high, as the couples are
shown just at the beginning of their
relationship. Obviously, they are happy
together, have no conflicts, and are
enjoying their true love that conquers
everything. Many people project this
into real life and are wondering why
their own relationship is not like this. In
real life it is entirely different because
every couple has to go through everyday
issues – like bills, sharing a home
together, various work-related stresses,
and raising children. Of course,
romance movies will not show this,
because they end right when the couple
finally proclaims their love for each
other. If the romantic feelings are not
as huge and wholesome as in the
movies, people start thinking that the
love between them and their partner is
not here, and there is something wrong
with the relationship.
How to make a relationship last long?
You should throw away all the
unrealistic expectations, and accept the
fact that you and your partner are only
humans. Obviously, if you both are
getting uncomfortable in this union, it is
best to end this. But if you have some
problems that you can work out through,
it is absolutely normal for every couple.
Here are some relationship tips about
how to make your union strong and
long-lasting. In fact, when you have
gone through everything with your
partner and your love still withstood all
the challenges, it is much more beautiful
and genuine than any cheesy plot of a
romantic comedy.
How to make a relationship strong
So, if you want to commit to a person
long-term and build something really
special with them, these tips may come
in handy. In love and relationships,
they are extremely important and hold
a large significance.
1. Acceptance
There is not a single person who is
perfect. And the main premise of a
healthy relationship would be accepting
your loved one with all the flaws,
qualities, and behavioral patterns. You
have to view them for the person they
are, and not for some ideal version of
them that you have created in your
head.
The acceptance should be mutual, so you
also should not tolerate the partner who
constantly tells you to change something
about yourself. Tolerance is a very
powerful thing that helps to avoid the
misunderstandings and fights and is
also useful for getting to know your
partner better and adapt to their
character. This said, obviously, if there
is some character trait about your
partner that really puts them in a
negative light and makes everyone’s
lives more difficult, you should be
honest with them, and, if they
acknowledge it, help them to become a
better person.
If they refuse to work on their
complicated personality, and the flaws
become stronger than the desire to be
with the person, it would be best to go
your separate ways and not make each
other unhappy. But still, you should
remember that everyone has their
moments, and if you love your partner,
you will be focusing on the positive
things.
2. Communication
There are so many media (movies, TV
shows) that show us what happens when
the couple lacks communication.
Sometimes they have the silliest
misunderstandings, simply because they
make assumptions instead of talking to
each other openly.
If you are facing some challenging
moments in your relationship, perhaps
this is the sign that you should
communicate with your partner more.
In strong relationships, people always
interact with each other, talk about
their days and listen to what their
partner has to say, exchange pieces of
advice and opinions, and express
mutual support.
The effective communication is one of
the keys to a strong relationship, and if
you are finding yourself drifting away
from your partner and not finding
common topics anymore, being afraid
to open up about things in fear of
judgment, or feeling exhausted after
every conversation with them, this
might be an alarming sign.
3. Being honest
Expressing your feelings in an open
manner instead of bottling them up is a
significant part of every healthy union.
If you suppress your true feelings long
enough, eventually, under the stress,
they will burst out in a very unpleasant
form, and hurt both you and your
partner.
Every person who is in a long-term
relationship needs to talk openly about
things that worry or concern them, and
make sure that they have not done
anything that upset their partner or
made them feel uncomfortable. This is
very closely tied to the previous point
about communication
4. Compromising
Two people, who have huge egos, are
stubborn and would only want things to
go their way, would not ever make a
healthy couple. Not all things are worth
fighting over, and not everything has
always to go our way. Sometimes,
compromising with your partner and
hearing their side of things is essential,
because you never know what it will
lead to in the long run.
There is really no point in fighting over
the minor things that can easily be
resolved without an argument.
Sometimes it is best to focus on the good
things and see the point of your
partner, instead of refusing to change
your ways. It will really help your
relationship, and you will find yourself
feeling more refreshed and happy than
after the constant fights.
5. Trusting each other
The key to every successful and loving
relationship is, of course, trust. It goes
without saying that trust in a
relationship is important, and it is a
remedy from all the fights,
misunderstandings, and arguments. If
you love your partner, trusting them in
an emotional and physical way is very
essential. You should not always suspect
them of cheating, or doubt their
faithfulness towards you. The person
will quickly feel trapped and will need a
break from your control.
As practice shows, the more you try to
restrict someone’s freedom, the more
they want to be free, so there is a high
chance that if you doubt your partner
all the time, he or she will get tired of it
and seek happiness elsewhere, with
someone who trusts them. If the trust is
broken, it may be more difficult to
confide in the partner the same way. It
depends on the situation. But generally,
you have to learn to believe your
partner and give them space in order to
make your relationship long-lasting.
6. Spending good quality time together
The couple should not just be a couple –
they also have to be best friends. There
is no point in a relationship where you
just like each other’s looks but have
nothing in common and make each
other unhappy.
It is incredibly important to have
common interests and hobbies and
spend some good time with each other
when you have free days. This means
communicating with each other, going
out and exploring new places, traveling,
cooking together, watching the movies,
and just having a nice fun time. Even if
you are polar opposites and have
different hobbies, you can try to adjust
to your partner’s lifestyle if this person
truly means a lot to you. For example, if
your lover likes football, you can go to
the game together – even if you know
nothing about it, you have a chance to
learn and expand your horizons.
Never judge people for things they are
passionate about, no matter how
ridiculous they might seem to you. All
the hobbies and interests are valid, as
long as they do no harm to anyone, and
they are a big part of everyone’s
personality, one of the things that make
us different from each other. So, if your
partner does not understand your
passions, mocks you for them and
outright says they are silly, then maybe
you should look for someone who would
be more supportive. Support and good
pastime together doing things you both
love will make the relationship stronger
and healthier.
7. Commitment
If you want to spend your life with this
person, you should fully commit to this
relationship. This means that you should
think not only about yourself but also
about your lover and how your actions
make them feel. You should talk out your
goals for the future and make sure they
are similar, so you could achieve them
together.
Both of you need to compliment each
other, give support throughout the
difficult time, and lift each other up
when one of you is feeling down. And
do not forget to give your partner
enough space so you would not get tired
of each other, because each person has
a life which does not revolve around
their lover. Getting into a relationship is
not just a fun thing – you have to be
committed to it and fully understand
the needs and wishes of your beloved
person.
Saying “thank you” and “sorry”
Obviously, you are close with your
partner, and there are no barriers
between you. But do not think that your
close bond is an excuse for being
impolite and disrespectful. Little things
like saying “thank you” when the person
did something nice and pleasant for you
or saying “sorry” when you have done
something wrong, really make a huge
difference in a relationship. It can make
your union even stronger because these
small gestures are a way to demonstrate
that you care about the feelings and
emotions of your partner, and respect
them. You might think it would go
unnoticed, but trust us when we say that
it will not. And of course, find the
balance: people who apologize all the
time for everything can quickly become
irritating for the others, so say it in
healthy amounts.
9. Being romantic
Even though those romance movie
cannot be entirely realistic, sometimes
we all wish that our life could be a little
like them. There are a lot of people who
are smart, practical and reliable, but
life with them gets boring very quickly
because they are unable to bring a little
excitement and fairytale into their
partner’s life.
Your partner would really appreciate it
if you made some small sweet gestures
for them: for example, this could be
remembering the anniversary of your
relationship and other special days,
keeping in mind the favourite things of
your partner and using them as a
reference for the future, surprising each
other with gifts and flowers, planning
romantic evenings and vacations.
Except that, you should not forget to
remind and show your partner
regularly how much you love them. Love
life will become very repetitive and
monotonous if all you have is just
serious everyday problems.
10. Solving the arguments in a mature way
So many couples resolve their fights by
screaming and insulting each other, and
it is probably obvious why this way is
wrong. There is always a bitter taste
after such arguments, and you just
know deep inside that your trust into
this person always having your back has
decreased.
Every couple has misunderstandings –
after all, we are all humans, and it is
impossible to agree on everything.
Bringing up the problematic topic
should be done in a gentle tone, without
blaming anyone, because this is how
most fights usually start. Some good
ways to resolve the fight are changing
the topic, using the sense of humor,
establishing the common ground, or
making a caring remark (for instance “I
understand that this topic is difficult for
you to discuss”). Sometimes, it can be
the healthiest for both of you just to
back off and return back to this
discussion when you both have calmed
down.
11. Focusing on positives
Some people just complain too much,
and if you think about it, many of those
things are simply not worth
complaining. If you or your partner are
one of those people, this can bring
discomfort into your everyday life,
because the negative environment is
always harmful. It is especially difficult
if you keep complaining about each
other’s bad sides.
Instead of dwelling on all the negativity
that surrounds you, try to notice the
positive things and focus on them.
Discuss them together with your lover,
and concentrate on how many good
things are there in the world. Try to
recognize and acknowledge the strong
sides of your partner. It is really very
simple to do so, and once you start, you
will be amazed at how much better it
feels. In fact, all the things in the
universe are neutral, and it is our
attitude that makes them them negative or
positive.

12. Showing physical affection
When people are shown physical care,
they feel safe and happy. This is why it
is essential to give your partner this
affection on a regular basis – it will
increase your trust and emotional
connection.
It is really very simple to hold hands
when you walk in the street, to give
your lover comforting hugs, or to
squeeze their arm gently. Perhaps this is
what your partner is waiting from you,
but is too embarrassed to say it out
loud.
13. Not arguing about money
The healthy conversation about sharing,
spending and earning money is
completely required at the start of the
relationship. Try to reach a mutual
understanding of your financial life.
After all, one of the partners will always
earn a little more, and the unexpected
financial troubles will always occur, and
these are things that every couple
usually deals with. Address the worries
about finances that you have on your
mind, and do not argue about these
things, because they very often kill the
promising relationships.
14. Making your significant other a priority
This is the main reason you are in the
relationship. Both people can have lives
outside each other, and it is, in fact,
strongly advised, because all couples
need breaks and lives of their own.
However, you should always let your
partner know that you are serious about
your relationship, and they are an
absolute number one for you.
These are the ways to preserve and
maintain strong, good, and healthy
relationships. We hope these pieces of
advice will help you, and bring you
many years of love, respect, and
understanding! Sharing your own
stories in the comment section is
strongly encouraged![Spending quality time together in worship and prayers is also very important.]

Business/Investments / Re: Fraud: $217bn Taken Out Of Nigeria Illegally Between 1970 Till Date – Efcc by Marymat2003: 12:18 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Truevine:According to Punch News Nigeria - Source
Nigeria has recorded illicit financial outflows of $
217.7bn in 38 years, specifically between 1970
and 2008, the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, said in Abuja on Wednesday.
The commission stated that the various
investigations, arrests, prosecution and assets
recoveries over the years had confirmed that the
level of corruption in Nigeria had been truly
staggering.
The Acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu,
represented by its Acting Spokesperson, Tony
Orilade, expressed these views at a one-day
conference organised by Online Publishers
Association of Nigeria with the theme: “Free press
and objective reporting in the 2019 election year.”
The EFCC boss said corruption in Nigeria was
being perpetrated by individuals and groups both
in the private and public sectors.
He identified former state governors, ministers,
high ranking military officers, chief executives of
parastatals and top bureaucrats in state and
federal agencies as culprits involved in the public
sector theft.
Magu said, “The alarming rate of corruption
committed by these unpatriotic elements can be
partly seen in the number of convictions secured
by the EFCC from Nigerian courts since I assumed
duty as the head of the commission in 2015.
“The figure stands at 103 in 2015, 195 in 2016,
189 in 2017 and 312 for the period of January to
December 2018. The total figure for the period of
2015 to 2018 is a mind-blowing 799 convictions.
In the process of such convictions, the EFCC
recovered N794.5bn, $261m, £1.1m, €8.1m and
CFA86, 500.
“One of the most graphic ways through which the
absence of democratic accountability manifests
itself in Nigeria today is through the prevalence of
rampant corruption at all levels of governance.
For example, Transparency International reported
that Nigeria was the most corrupt country in the
world for years: 1996, 1997, 2000 and second in
the line for remaining years up to 2003.
“In February 2015, a high-level panel on illicit
financial flows from Africa constituted by the
African Union, under the chairmanship of a former
President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, revealed
that Nigeria ranked first among ten African
countries by cumulative illicit financial flows
between 1970 and 2008. The total outflow from
Nigeria for the period was $217.7bn constituting
about 30.5 per cent of Africa’s total share.”

Agriculture / Re: 10 Best Questions To Ask A Girl You Like. by Marymat2003: 02:44 pm On 1 Jan 2019

Most guys are fond of asking ladies
the wrong questions during
conversation.
It’s not always easy in trying to
understand the girl you like, even
when you’ve been together for a
long time. It is good to have some
designed questions to get into her.
Below is some of the best question
to ask a girl you like during
conversation with her:
1. If you had a time travel ticket,
where would you go to?
Now she has a ticket to go back in
time and she is never coming back,
which year will she go to? Will it be
in the past? To the year 1980, or
will she go to the future? To the
year 2050 with space travel and
teleportation. Not only will this
question tell you whether she longs
for the past or dream of the future,
but it also leads to fun and
interesting conversation.
2. Would you rather live in the city or
the woods? Why?
Would she rather live in the
crowded constant action of the city?
Or the calm, peaceful tranquility of
the woods? This simple question
forces her to choose between two
opposites and tells you if she’s
looking for the same type of life you
are living.
3. If I gave you 10 million naira right
now, what will you do with it?
Now she has free money in her
pocket, what is she going to spend it
on? Will she blow it on shopping or
the first available plane ticket to a
tropical paradise? Or is she the
practical type who put the money in
the bank or pays off some student
loan debt? It really doesn’t matter
what the answer is, the real
question is that if your income were
shared, would you agree with her
choice?
4. When was the first time you broke
the law?
It sounds funny but was she a rebel
or an angel when she was young?
Or she has never broken any law in
her life? It is important to point out
that this is the first time she broke
the law not the last time. That
simply means you are asking her
about her first mistake and her first
adventures. She may tell you about
her past or her younger self.
5. What’s your favorite holiday?
Does she want to decorate
gingerbread house at Christmas? Or
does she hate the holiday
altogether? Guys we all know the
holiday can cause huge amount of
stress for couples, but this question
will tell you exactly what she’s
looking for in a holiday spent with
you, and it will help you to prepare
and make the most of the special
time together.

story from her past you didn’t
know. Whatever the answer may be,

vacation anywhere in the world,
where will you go?
She can go any where for two
weeks, where will she choose to go?
Vegas? Paris? Rome? Berlin? Where
ever it is, realize that a vacation is
an escape from the everyday stress.
So, is her escape parting in Paris?.
Or is it a two weeks rest on the
beach? She probably feels
overworked or overly stressed. If

wants to escape to, you will have an
idea of what stress her, and how to
help her.

what would it be and how would
you use it?
This question is a fun conversation

This is a greet question to ask
because it indirectly give you an
idea of what she’s looking for in
life. And as a bonus, it even tells
you how to help her get what she
wants and needs.

yourself when you are stressed?
This question sounds very funny
and can be ask on a casual date.

Religion / Re: Obedience Is Better Than Sacrifice by Marymat2003: 02:15 pm On 1 Jan 2019
1 Samuel 15:22
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams

When God gives instructions to you either via his word or the Holy Spirit or which ever way, your corresponding response should be with awesome reverence and then obedience. Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe God.The only way to receive Gods blessing begins with faith in your heart then obedience. If you do not obey, then of course his blessings will elude you. There are so many precious promises God has in store for us.The only currency we can use to get them is first to have faith in our heart and to obey.In Deuteronomy 28,Moses told the people of Israel that all the blessings will be theirs if they only hearken diligently and OBEY all that was stated.Sometimes these divine instructions seem ridiculous but the blessings come pouring in when you obey.God told Abraham to leave his father's house, tribe and kindred to a country that He (God) will show him.Abraham did not wait for God to tell him which country but Abraham obeyed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. Choose to obey.

Life is a test,a trust and a temporary assignment.[Complete Obedience is Holiness./quote]
Chelsea have signed Borussia Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic for 64m euros (£58m), but will loan him back to the German club until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old United States international, who was linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, joined Dortmund as a youth player in 2015.

Pulisic has scored nine goals in 23 games for the US.

"It's a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club," he said.

It is the highest transfer fee for an American player, beating the 20m euros Wolfsburg paid for John Brooks in 2017.

Dortmund director Michael Zorc said: "It was always Christian's dream to play in the Premier League.

"That certainly has to do with his American background, and as a result we were unable to extend his contract.

"Against this background, we have decided to accept an extremely lucrative bid by Chelsea, given the low contract maturity."

Pulisic's contract at Dortmund was due to expire in June 2020.[Good for them all!]
Do you know that you can farm during dry season
All you have to do is to have a source of water supply so that you can water the crops you planted be it vegetables or plant
The most interesting thing about dry season farming is that you gain more when you sell them since there is always scarcity of those agricultural products by that time[Irrigation is important for dry season farming.]

Food/Diets / Re: 5 Food That Increase The Size Of P*n*s And It's Girth by Marymat2003: 12:30 pm On 1 Jan 2019
5 foods that increase P*n*s
size naturally.

Here are organic meals that would improve the
P*n*s size.
For those with a smaller manhood size,
enhancement pills on the market is what they sort
to. What most people don’t know of is the “all-
natural” way of having the P*n*s increase from a 5
to the desired 7.5 inches and that also includes its
girth.

1. Onions
Research shows that onions are great for creating
healthy blood flow circulation throughout the body
to the heart.
Furthermore, onion consumption helps prevent
blood clotting. But what people seldom realize is
that onions help not only blood flow to the heart,
but also with blood flow to the P*n*s.

2. Banana
As per most studies, men with a healthy heart can
successfully increase their P*n*s size by few inches.
The fruit contains potassium which is key to
cardiovascular health. Banana reduces the level of
sodium in the body, which is extremely harmful for
your body. It is also known to improve the blood
circulation in the body.
Healthy heart and proper blood circulation are the
main factors that help you attain a bigger erection.
So consume banana regularly to achieve desired
results in shorter time span.
3.Spinach
This Persian origin edible flowering plant is a
natural penile enlargement food. A potent source of
magnesium, which dilates blood vessels for smooth
blood flow in the P*n*s. Regular consumption of
spinach can easily help you in increasing P*n*s size,
girth, and attain iron-strong hard-ons.

4. Salmon
Like we touched on in the case with onions, foods
that generate a healthy blood flow are proven to
help you attain a stiffer erections.
Eating salmon is no exception. Rich in Omega 3
and other fatty oils, salmon is great for thinning
blood, which in turn helps generate a healthier blood
flow.
5. Watermelon
Watermelons have high amount of-citrulline amino
acid, which helps in enhancing P*n*s size. The fruit
gets converted into well-known P*n*s-friendly L-
arginine amino acids which stimulate nitric oxide
production, increasing the blood flow to the P*n*s.
It helps in dilation of blood vessels. Regular
consumption of watermelon can easily help men to
gain extra inches[Good food, good health indeed.]
