A yet-to-be-identified final year student has reportedly taken his own life because he had a poor GPA and couldn't graduate.
According to Twitter user, Kofi, the student took his life this past Sunday, January 27.
Kofi wrote: "He killed himself because his GPA wasn’t good enough and he feared he wouldn’t graduate with Us. This is the story of our mate who lost his life Yesterday. Every final year student having a hard time, Just hang in there fam. We go make am regardless of the GPA. #StayWoke."

A 19-year-old French man Adel has been convicted for “buying” a PS4 while pretending to be purchase “fancy tomatoes” in September 2018.
According to L’est Republicain, he approached the self-desk store on the pretence that he was buying tomatoes and vegetables at the Montbéliard supermarket in eastern France and switched the price tag of the N140,000 ($389) console to N3650 ($10.) While this may have been regarded as an oversight, he had done the same thing the day before and sold it for N41000 ($114) after successfully leaving the supermarket.
His defence was he did it to purchase a train ticket to another city, Nice.
He has been sentenced to four months in prison.

The people of Gelao (Gelo) people of Guizhou Province, China are a people with traditions that make them special.
Although in China, they are features that make them unique. Only a few from the population of about 580,000 Gelos scattered in over 18 counties in the Western Guizhou Province can speak their language (the original language which belongs to the Chinese-Tibetan language family.)
What this means is that most Gelos speak Chinese Hmong, Yi, or Buyi language. This is partly because of their relations with the Miaos, Yis and Bouyeis.
Less than 50 years ago, the people still wore their traditional attires: jackets with sleeves designed with patterns of fish scales.
To each man his own tradition
A spiritual people, they engage in ancestral worship. They still uphold some of their several taboos. Some of them include: not standing or sitting close to a door, women under 40 are not allowed to fetch water from the well and the visitors cannot attend a funeral ceremony.
Because of their population, marriage was between families so that each married his cousin.
Their tradition holds that when a girl is ripe for marriage and is still a v*rg*n, ill luck will follow her family and whomever she marries. To signify to men who have an interest in her that she is still a v*rg*n, she will knock off two of her teeth.
After the marriage ceremony, the family of the bride will escort her with an umbrella to the groom’s house.
When she successfully gets to the house, she will pour water on her new family. This, they believe, will chase away evil spirits and bring good luck.

The number of Nigerians who currently use cannabis has been revealed in a new report and it will interest you.
The National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday released the drug use in Nigeria report, stating that the drug prevalence rate is 14.4 per cent, Punch Metro reports.
The bureau in a report, which was uploaded on its website, stated that the 14.4 per cent prevalence rate translates into about 14.3 million people.
It said the extent of drug use in Nigeria is comparatively high when compared to the 2016 global annual prevalence rate of 5.6 per cent.
It said in Nigeria, one in seven persons between the ages of 15 and 64 had used a drug other than tobacco and alcohol.
The report stated that among every four drug users in Nigeria, one was a woman.
It said the highest levels of drug use were among those between the ages of 25 and 39.
The NBS report also stated that cannabis was the most commonly used drug, noting that about 10.6 million people had used it in the past one year.
The report read in part, “Cannabis use was seven times higher among men-18.8 per cent among men compared to 2.6 per cent of women, while the gender gap in the non-medical use of pharmaceutical opioids, such as
Tramadol, was six per cent among men, compared to 3.3 per cent among women.”
Geographically, the report stated that the highest prevalence of drug use was found in the southern geopolitical zones with prevalence rates ranging between 13.8 per cent and 22.4 per cent, compared to the northern geopolitical zones which had prevalence rates ranging between 10 per cent and 13.6 per cent.
The report said nearly 40 per cent of high-risk drug users indicated a need for treatment of drug use disorders.
“Most of the high risk drug users considered it was difficult to access drug treatment. The cost of treatment and stigma attached to drug use were cited as the primary barriers in accessing or availing drug treatment services,” it added
It also said, Yobe, Imo, Bayelsa, Rivers and Lagos states were “the states where it was more difficult to access treatment for drug use disorder.”

A woman has revealed on social media what her mum did to her as a child that made her become a s-x addict.
Morolake Carter who shared her experience, blamed her mom who forced her to undergo v*rg*nity test when she was only 16 years old.
This action, she claimed, made her curious about s-x, as she later got deflowered a year later by a random male friend in university.

Jerry Okirwoth, a Ugandan student who has been working as a part-time disc jockey (DJ), in one of the disco halls in Akworo Sub-county in Nebbi District has been killed during a show.
According to The Monitor, the mob that killed Jerry Okirwoth on Wednesday, accused him of failing to play their favourite music. The crowd pounced on him and he fell unconcious at the scene. He was later pronounced dead.
Mr William Bob Labeja, the Nebbi Resident District Commissioner, blamed the management of the disco hall for failing to protect the budding DJ.
"As the head of security in the district, I will no longer allow any disco operators to conduct their businesses in the sub-county and anybody who defies the directive will be prosecuted," he said. "All disco halls in all sub counties must be closed because they are causing insecurity and redundancy among the youth."
He said that over five people have been killed in district in the past week.
Mr Bosco Okwai, the Ndhew Sub-county chairman said that in 2011, they passed a bylaw that stopped the issuance of licenses to disco operators in the sub-county.
"We want all the local leaders to report those who defy the bylaw," Mr Okwai said.

Unknown gunmen have killed a policeman identified as Oisa Monday Ehigie. Late Monday was the police orderly to the Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha local government area, Dr. Eric Osayande.
He was shot dead on Saturday night at Nomayo Junction along Upper Sokponba road in Ikpoba-Okha local government.
His killings might be connected to the on-going cult war in Bénin City in which several persons have been killed in different parts of the State.
State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosun, who confirmed the killing said he has visited family of the slain policeman.
He said efforts were on to arrest the killers.
According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the commissioner said the slain officer was killed alongside two members of his cult group.
According to him, the slain policeman died while fighting on the side of his cult group against rival cult group.
“Three people were killed in the fight, the police officer and two others. “I have gone to see his family. It is a cult killing and the officer is a cultist,” the CP said.
The commissioner, who said arrests have been made in relation to the killings, also said some guns had been recovered.

Chinese authorities on Tuesday executed a man who killed 15 people after ramming a car into a crowded square in central Hunan province last year.
Last September, Yang Zanyun ploughed a Land Rover into pedestrians at a public square in Hengdong city before slashing at people with a shovel and dagger.
Fifteen people were killed and 43 others were injured.
The Hengyang Intermediate People’s Court in Hunan province said Tuesday it “carried out the death penalty” on Yang Zanyun for “endangering public security through dangerous methods”.
Local police had called him a “vengeful repeat offender” at the time, naming drug charges, theft and intentionally causing hurt as previous offences in their statement.
China has experienced a spate of similar incidents in recent months.

In late November, a car ploughed into a group of children crossing a street in front of an elementary school in northeastern Liaoning province, killing five people and injuring at least 19.
The driver said he “chose his victims at random” and had reportedly been contemplating suicide due to domestic troubles before the tragedy occurred.
In December, eight people were killed and 22 injured after a man hijacked a bus and crashed into pedestrians in eastern Fujian province.
He had killed a local official and police officer before commandeering the bus, according to reports by Chinese media.

Wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari is currently abroad for medical reasons, according to TheCable.
This is the reason the First Lady has not been active in campaigning along with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Concern has been raised as to her whereabouts after she led her campaign team to a rally in Kano state on January 5.
A presidency source explained to the newspaper that Aisha has not been seen campaigning “because she is ill”.
“For about two weeks now, you will observe that the president’s wife has not been campaigning. She is ill and she has travelled abroad for treatment,” he said.
However, she will be back on Monday, according to the report.
Aisha had set up a 700-member team for Buhari’s reelection bid.
During the inauguration of the team she had said, “It will operate as a sister body with necessary legwork and outreach and will mobilise women and youths across the country.”
Meanwhile, Suleiman Haruna, Aisha’s media aid, told the newspaper that he did not have any comments regarding the President Wife’s health.
“Honestly, honestly, I don’t have any comment on that. People have been calling me. I don’t have any comment on that,” he said.

As Nigerians prepare for the Presidential and National As-sembly elections on February 16, the race for the Kwara Central Senatorial District will be the cynosure of all eyes as the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, will lock horns with Dr. Yahaya Oloriegbe, a political archrival of many years. Oloriegbe, a former Majority leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Saraki is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
Oloriegbe, who has contested against Saraki twice (2011, 2015) and lost in the two instances, told newsmen in Lagos yesterday that Saraki has ceased to be the candidate to beat in his constituency and come February 16, the Senate President will be beaten ‘silly’ at the polls. But the Senate President has described the doomsday prophecy as a daydream. Saraki described Oloriegbe as one of the ‘seasonal or visiting’ politicians in Kwara State who have no political value. In the 2011 polls, Saraki, then of the PDP, garnered 78,799 votes to defeat Oloriegbe, then of the ACN who scored 53,058 votes.
In the 2015 election, Saraki, of the APC polled 118,879 votes against Oloriegbe of the PDP, who polled 66,884 votes. “I will like to let everyone know that in today’s Kwara, Bukola Saraki is no longer the candidate to beat. It’s daylight in our state of harmony and we have seen the light, no more Saraki dynasty control over the politics and affairs of the people of Kwara State,” he said. Oloriegbe’s campaign to oust Saraki had been hinged on several issues, among them allegation that the Senate President had spent the last 16 years deepening the poverty level in his constituency instead of alleviating same. The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, yesterday pledged the sum of N5 million as support to his rival in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Sonni Ogbuoji.
The donation, Umahi said, was to enable Ogbuoji and his running mate in the March 2 governorship election to change his posters and billboards across the state with good ones.
Umahi, who subsequently ordered his Chief of Staff, Offor Okorie, to release the money immediately to the APC guber candidate, said he was constrained to make the donation because the campaign posters of the APC governorship hopeful and his running mate were not good looking.
He warned his supporters not to tear or deface the campaign posters of the opposition parties in the state.
Umahi warned that doing so might lead to unnecessary rivalry and possible break down of law and order which his administration has worked very hard to achieve in more than three years it came on board.
He gave the warning in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state while addressing a crowd of his supporters during a campaign rally held in the premises of the council headquarters.
“I want to donate N5 million to assist them to change their pictures. For the sake of the image of Ebonyi State, let them change those posters and billboards. People will think that is how Ebonyi people look like. I want the Chief of Staff to release the money immediately to them.
“We ask our people not to tear the posters of any other political party. PDP is on the ground. If you meet them don’t tear their posters,” Umahi warned.
Umahi, however, said that he was happy that his administration was able to restore peace in the war-torn Ezza/Ezzilo communities, an inter-communal war which claimed several lives and properties.
“When we were campaigning in 2015, this land was so challenged. The land was full of blood and the anger of God came upon the land and the entire Ebonyi State. And when we were campaigning, we made a promise that we were going to restore peace. It wasn’t by pride but by the grace of God
“As soon as God did it for us, we set out a peace committee under the leadership of Fr Nwali. And so, it is an opportunity to be grateful to God.
“We came and planted trees of peace and ever since then, through the prayers of our traditional rulers, spiritual fathers and lords, elders and sons and daughters of the state, we have peace in the land of Ishielu.
“We have peace to the extent that Ibeto is now concluding the fabrication of NIGERCEM cement machines. To the extent that NIGERCEM road is built on concrete, to the extent that seven bridges are springing up along that road.
“To the extent that Agba/Ntezi/Isu road is being awarded now and will soon start this month. To the extent that we have two more autonomous communities in this land; to the extent that we have our general hospital in this local government completely renovated.
“To the extent that the NYSC, not only that they have returned, but they are ‘Atikulated’; to the extent that we are building new schools; we are renovating the Ezillo Water Scheme. There is no alternative to peace,” he added.

Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, the Presidential Candidate of Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN). has described allegation by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Galadima that she was never really serious about her presidential ambition as baseless.
In an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), her media aide, Mr Uzoma Ubabukoh, in Lagos, on Thursday, said Galadima’s claim that she was contesting to negotiate to be Minister of Finance was a figment of his imagination.
Galadima was Ezekwesili’s running-mate until she announced her withdrawal from the race early on Thursday.
She claimed she withdrew from the race after due consultations with Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora.
Ezekwesili added that her decision to quit the race was informed by the need to help and build a coalition to stop the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from winning.
She said neither APC nor PDP could provide the kind of governance needed to reposition the country .
Few hours after Ezekwesili’s withdrawal from the race, Galadima called a news conference, saying Ezekwesili had not shown the commitment to be President from the beginning.
He alleged that the former minister was just in the race to negotiate to be Minister of Finance and that she had kept the party in the dark about her real intention.
Galadima added that the candidate had used the platform of the party to get funds from donors, which she had not spent to show commitment to her ambition.
The ACPN chairman said having realised that Ezekwesili did not represent the interest of the party, the party was endorsing President Muhammadu Buhari for re-election.
Reacting to the allegations, Ubabukoh said Galadima’s claims were baseless.
He said the candidate’s decision to withdraw from the race was taken to sacrifice her personal interests for the country’s interest.
“All these allegations are figment of his imagination. They are baseless. The decision to withdraw from the race is in the interest of the nation. It should be the nation first before anything,” Ubabukoh said.
He said it was curious that Galadima, less than three hours after Ezekwesili’s withdrawal, endorsed Buhari and added that the action showed the ACPN Chairman had long had a personal agenda and never believed in the idea to disrupt the status quo in country.
Ubabukoh said Ezekwesili would soon address a news conference where she would provide details about her withdrawal from the presidential race.

The Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL has appealed to the people of the Southeast and Southsouth regions to be mindful of politicians and campaign promises.
This was in reaction to recent launch of Political campaigns in Southeast by President Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The National Leader of BNYL, Princewill Chimezie Richard, in a statement to DAILY POST on Friday, advised the people not to “allow themselves to be used as political tools to kill people for selfish interests.”
BNYL also lambasted apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo for turning into a political group.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo endorsed Atiku on Thursday during a meeting of Imeobi, the highest decision making body of Ohanaeze.
Ohanaeze endorsed Atiku whom they believed has restructuring agenda.
But BNYL said that “Ohanaeze ought not to have involved in politics,” adding that it endorsed a wrong candidate that doesn’t have Igbo interest.
The group added, “northern politicians, after this election, our people will totally be forgotten for another four years, and it goes on like that.
“We are wiser now. None of our people should fight for Buhari when he loses or fight for Atiku when Buhari wins. We will not tolerate it”

Following the shock news by Oby Ezekwesili of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, that she will not be contesting for the 2019 Presidential election, Nigerians have reacted.
In the statement she released on Twitter and her website, she explained her decision to quit the process as proof of her determination to right the wrongs in the country by supporting a coalition that can defeat the incumbent.
“My commitment in this regard has been consistent and in consonance with my agreement, at the request of candidates under Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) in 2018, to supervise their internal selection process as an outside observer passionate about building this alternative force. Despite disagreements within the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria on these and other issues, I have decided that it is now necessary to show by action and example my determination on this issue by stepping down my candidacy and focusing on building the coalition once and for all,” the statement read in part.
Her withdrawal, only a few weeks before the election has generated multiple reactions from observers and regular Nigerians alike.

According to a report by Punch Metro, the Senate on Thursday suspended its rules by evoking order 79 to give the new Minimum Wage (amendments) Bill an accelerated consideration.
No sooner had the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, read President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter announcing the transmission of the bill to the National Assembly, than the process for its consideration started.
Buhari in the letter noted that the new wage bill recommended N27, 000 for the least paid worker in Nigeria while firms with less than 25 members of staff, are exempted while punishment for defaulters should be made very stringent.
Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, raised a point of order shortly after the letter had been read drawing the attention of his colleagues to suspend their rules to enable them give accelerated hearing to the legislation.
His motion was put to vote and members in attendance overwhelmingly supported it after the motion was seconded by the Minority Leader, Senator Abiodun Olujimi.
The bill was subsequently subjected to the first and second reading while the senators who spoke on it supported the need to expedite action on it to enable them to pass it into law within the shortest possible time.

Olusegun Obasanjo, former President and Sanusi Lamido, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), are among high-ranking Nigerians who convinced Obiageli Ezewesili, candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), to withdraw from the 2019 presidential race.
Ezekwesili withdrew from the race on Thursday morning after “extensive discussions with Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora”, citing the need to “focus on helping to build a veritable coalition to ensure a viable alternative to the #APCPDP in the forthcoming elections”.
“It is my ardent belief that this broad coalition for a viable alternative has now become more than ever before, an urgent mission for and on behalf of Nigerian citizens,” she had said. “I have therefore chosen to lead the way in demonstrating the much needed patriotic sacrifice for our national revival and redirection.”
Talks for the emergence of a consensus candidate under the Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) initiative were on earlier in the campaign. While seven candidates — notably Tope Fasua, presidential candidate of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP) and Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) — pulled out of it, 11 more — including Fela Durotoye, presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) and Kingsley Moghalu, candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), stayed till the end. Durotoye emerged the winner, but Moghalu refused to step down, after which Ezekwesili herself joined the race.
However, after monitoring the performance of candidates at Saturday’s presidential debate organised by the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) and the Nigeria Elections Debate Group (NEDG), some concerned Nigerians became convinced that two of those candidates — Ezekwesili and Moghalu — could defeat President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). They, therefore, began a series of “intense talks” towards presenting just one candidate.
SaharaReporters understands that these talks, which began on Sunday and continued till Tuesday, received big inputs from Obasanjo, Sanusi and the international community, notably the European Union (EU). Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, was also credited with some faint involvement in the talks, but sources very close to him told SaharaReporters that this is very unlikely, as he prefers to stay out of the politics of electioneering.
“The international community was involved,” a diplomatic source deeply involved in the talks told SaharaReporters on Thursday evening.
“They were here before the debate, and afterwards they held several meetings in Abuja. You also had a former President who pretends to be supporting Atiku. I will tell you for free that Obasanjo’s support of Atiku is not genuine. He wants a coalition but he agreed to support Atiku so that in the event that the coalition does not work, Atiku will be a better President than Buhari is for him.”
A second source with extensive knowledge of northern Nigeria politics also told SaharaReporters about the influence of Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, on Ezekwesili’s withdrawal.
“Sanusi has been involved, too. He is the chief sponsor of Moghalu. He is the one mobilising the northern elites for Moghalu,” he said. “That is where Moghalu has always got his confidence from. Sanusi believes in Ezekwesili too, but he and some others feel that Moghalu, being a man, will pull more weight.”
The source, though, expressed doubts that Moghalu would step down for anyone should the new idea of a consensus candidate produce someone other than him.
“You know Moghalu will never step down for anybody,” he said. “Now, somebody has to sacrifice his/her ambition, and the woman wants to sacrifice hers so that in the coming days others will also sacrifice theirs.
“You’ve seen also that ACPN also will never support a coalition. Galadima never wanted a coalition; he has always said that in 2015 when he was the candidate of the party, the party came fourth in the presidential election. And now that the party has Oby as the flagbearer, they will definitely win the election.”
Already, Galadima, the National Chairman of ACPN, has disowned Ezekwesili, claiming that she never wanted to be President in the first place but only wanted to use the position to negotiate for the position of Finance Minister. However, SaharaReporters understands that this is unlikely, as Ezekweisli, since leaving office as Minister of Education in April 2007, is privately known to have turned down ministerial offers from two presidents.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also turned down her withdrawal, saying it came in two months after the deadline.

Nearly a million dollars in cash was stolen from a suitcase owned by ousted Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, state media reported Friday, as three suspects including a relative of the former leader face trial for the theft.
According to updated court papers Mugabe had filled the bag with a million dollars and stashed it in the library of his country home in Zvimba, west of the capital, in 2016.
Only $78,000 was found in the bag on January 6 this year, according to The Herald citing court documents.
The three accused — which include Constancia Mugabe, 50, a relative of the president — appeared before Chinhoyi magistrates court on Thursday and were ordered to return on February 7.
The suspected thieves are accused of spending the money on cars, houses and farm animals.
Mugabe’s whereabouts have been unconfirmed since late November when President Emmerson Mnangagwa, his successor, said the ailing 94-year-old was in Singapore for medical treatment and was now unable to walk.
His 37-year reign was marked by state corruption, economic collapse and brutal repression of dissent.
According to prosecutors, Constancia Mugabe had keys to Mugabe’s rural house allowing the other suspects, who were employed as cleaners, to gain full access to the property when the theft occurred.
The court earlier this month heard that the three suspected thieves had stolen $150,000, but the updated court papers released on Thursday showed that he lost $922,000.
US dollars are prized in crisis-hit Zimbabwe, where a currency crisis was one of the reasons behind deadly protests that rocked the country last week.
The protests were sparked by a steep increase in the price of fuel and an ensuing security crackdown claimed a dozen lives – mainly from gunfire – and the injury of hundreds.
More than 1,100 people have been arrested in the crackdown.

The Federal Government has welcomed the statements from the United States and the United Kingdom demanding credible and peaceful election in Nigeria and threatening punitive measures against election riggers and perpetrators of electoral violence.

In a statement issued in Ilorin on Friday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the Federal Government is particular delighted that the statements came after it alerted the nation to the machinations of some opposition elements who are working to scuttle the 2019 polls through widespread violence.

”A few days ago, we alerted the nation to the plot by the opposition to orchestrate widespread violence in the country, using insurgents and criminal elements within and outside the country. ”The fact that those statements came after we issued our red alert, which is based on credible intelligence, shows that the international community is closely monitoring events ahead of the election. Tinny Entertainment was undoubtedly one of the leading Record Labels in Nigeria with a handful of talented acts signed under it.
The label is owned by Mr Timilehin Arokodar e popularly known as Small Tinny, the label housed amazing entertainers such as Ycee , Bella, Dapo Tuburna, Damilare and few others.
Last Week the front liner of the label
Ycee made it publicly known, via a tweet, that he is no longer signed to the music label, in response to a fan who asked if he was still with the label.
In truth, Ycee had terminated his contract with the label since September 2018, as well as, Bella, Dapo Tuburna and Damilare, who all terminated their contracts with the label, leaving Tinny Entertainment with no artiste to manage.
For over eighteen months, I was the label’s PR (and held the record of the longest served member of staff) I handled the label’s social media platforms, distribution and promotion of content; and trust me, in my almost two-year stay at the label, I lost count of how many staff members came and went.
There was an instance where the label’s CEO returned from the UK and sacked ten of his staff members, leaving only the gate man and myself. One other time, a new staff member was employed on Monday and was sacked on Friday.
Let’s say, Boss Tinny, as I always referred to him was a ruthless boss with high demand for excellence and little or no regard for his staff.
It’s no surprise at all that all his artistes up and terminated their contracts with him at the same time.
The artistes’ angst with the label had started long ago and only intensified in January 2018 during the Ycee Juice Concert in London.
Ycee and Bella had had issues with the label’s CEO while they were all in London; and as punishment, the management had abandoned the talents in the UK, leaving them with no means to take care of themselves or even return home.
I will not go into the details of how the talents were able to survive their stay in the UK.
The issue was later resolved but not too long afterwards, trouble brewed again in the camp when the label could no longer handle the management of her four artistes concurrently.
Not a day went by without a complaint from one of the artistes demanding the status of their career and their brand direction.
I remember this time when Dapo Tuburna, in indignation, sent an angry mail to the label’s CEO demanding to know the way forward as regarding his music career, while pointing out that the label was not holding up their own end of the contract; stating he funds his own distribution and promotion most of the time, despite having signed to a label as prominent as Tinny Entertainment.
Damilare on the other hand, never stopped complaining about how the label did not have time for him and how the distribution and promotion of his releases were not properly funded by the label. He was signed in 2017 and had only two singles and a video to show for it.
Established artistes often have a key-man clause in their contracts, which allows them to leave for another label if both parties, the label and the artiste, come to a mutual agreement to part ways.
I think, that was the case with Ycee . For upcoming artistes, dropping out may be better than being stuck in a contract with a corporation that cares more about the bottom line than having the conviction to stick with artistes, even if they do not see immediate returns.

Blues boss, Maurizio Sarri, has been desperate to bring in a new frontman, with Alvaro Morata now expected to complete a loan move of his own to Atletico Madrid.
Higuain enjoyed his most prolific season ever under Sarri at Napoli and is eager to be reunited with the Italian.

Manchester United have been unseated as world football’s biggest earners, after slipping to third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in Deloitte’s annual report into club revenues.
However, the Premier League provided six of the top 10, which is a record from a single country.
The report found that the 20 highest-earning clubs in the world generated a record £7.4bn of combined revenue in 2017/2018, an increase of 6% on the previous year.
United, though, were unable to keep pace with Madrid and Barcelona after pulling in £581m, a fall of £8.8m on the previous season.
Madrid moved from second to first, by increasing revenues by more than £85m to £665.2m off the back of a third consecutive Champions League title and a big uplift in sponsorship, merchandising and the exploitation of increasingly lucrative pre-season fixtures. They are the first club to generate more than €750m.
Barcelona are in second place with revenues of just over £611m, a rise of more than £50m , after signing a new shirt sponsorship with a Japanese e-commerce company and winning La Liga.
“European football remains a bull market, with annual revenue growth of almost €450m [approximately £390m].
“Real Madrid’s outstanding financial performance in 2017-18 is built on their long history of success on the pitch, most recently three consecutive Champions League titles.

Neymar was forced off with a nasty-looking ankle injury, as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Strasbourg 2-0 in the last 32 of the Coupe de France on Wednesday night.
Thomas Tuchel will be sweating over Neymar’s injury ahead of the side’s Champions League clash with Manchester United.
The Brazilian forward went down in a heap in the second half and tried to play through the pain after some initial treatment on the touchline at the Parc des Princes.
However, Moussa Diaby came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute and Neymar was in tears, as he made his way down the tunnel.
Neymar, who suffered foot problems before and during the World Cup last summer, appeared to roll his ankle while dribbling past Strasbourg midfielder Moataz Zemzemi.
Asked about the injury after the final whistle, Tuchel replied: “No news for Neymar but he’s worried.
“It’s the same foot [that he injured before the World Cup].”

A former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on domestic affairs, Mr Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, has insisted that he is innocent over the N1.6 billion fraud charges levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Dudafa told a Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday that contrary to EFCC’s allegation, the money traced to him belonged to the Anglican Communion of Otuoke community in Bayelsa State.

The White House said high-level trade talks with Beijing were proceeding uninterrupted, quickly reB*tting media reports that progress toward resolving their trade war had faltered.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu He is to meet his US counterparts in Washington next week as the two sides work to resolve their trade disagreements by March 1, when a 90-day truce is due to expire, allowing US import duties on Chinese goods to increase sharply.
Washington and Beijing imposed tit-for-tat tariffs on more than $360 billion worth of goods in two-way trade last year.
Trump initiated the trade war because of complaints about unfair Chinese trade practices — concerns shared by the European Union, Japan and others.
The Financial Times and CNBC both reported Tuesday afternoon that Washington had cancelled a preliminary meeting set for this week ahead of Liu’s visit.
American officials had reportedly cited a lack of progress on the most difficult issues in the trade dispute — including allegedly forced technology transfers and far-reaching structural reforms to China’s economy.
The reports sent Wall Street even further into the red. US stocks had already opened lower on downgraded forecasts for global economic growth.
But, shortly before the close of trading in New York, top White House economic aide Larry Kudlow flatly denied the reports during an appearance on CNBC.
“With respect, the story is not true,” Kudlow said Tuesday.
“There was never a planned meeting that was cancelled.”
China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying concurred Wednesday at a regular press briefing, adding that she had not heard of any changes and that “both sides remain in contact on China-US trade consultation issues”.
Stock prices recovered some of their losses following Kudlow’s remarks but still finished substantially lower for the day. Asian markets were mixed on Wednesday.
Kudlow said the United States continued to press the Chinese on the subject of intellectual property and state intervention in markets, among other matters.
He also said American officials were insisting that any agreement have teeth to ensure Beijing’s compliance.
“Enforcement is absolutely crucial to the success of these talks,” Kudlow said.
“Will it be solved at the end of the month? I don’t know. I wouldn’t dare predict and want to make sure people understand how important that is to put it on the table.”
If both sides fail to reach a resolution to the trade war, US duty rates on $200 billion in Chinese goods are due to rise to 25 percent from their current 10 percent, a prospect that has shaken markets in recent months.
Last year, the Chinese economy posted its slowest annual growth in nearly three decades, according to official figures published Monday in Beijing, underscoring concerns the trade conflict with the United States could sap the strength of the world’s second-largest economy and harm global growth in the process.

Stakeholders in the Niger Delta have warned politicians against making a political fortune of the recently inaugurated Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Oil and Gas Basic Skills Vocational Training Centre in Ondo State.
They gave the warning in a statement signed by Mr Murphy Ganagana, Special Assistant on Media to the Coordinator, PAP, Prof. Charles Dokubo on Wednesday in Abuja.
The stakeholders including leaders of ex-agitators, community leaders and elders of the region said that barely two days after the inauguration of the centre, some persons had made efforts to attribute credit to wrong person. Mr Timothy Tensibe, a phase two camp leader in the amnesty programme, said it was disheartening that some persons were trying to reap where they did not sow to score cheap political gains.

“We belief that the newly inaugurated oil and gas training centre by amnesty programme at Agadagba, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State will enhance the training of thousands of beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of the programme.’’
He also noted that the activation of the centre would fast track development in the entire Niger Delta region.
According to him, it is dubious for any individual or group to commend the government of Ondo State for keeping to promises made to former Niger-Delta agitators.
“This is because besides the fact that the Agadagba Oil and Gas Basic Skills Vocational Training Centre is not an initiative of the Ondo State government.
“It was solely funded by the Federal Government through the Presidential Amnesty Programme with a vision driven to an enviable end by Dokubo.”
The Niger Delta Progressive Forum for Elders and Community Leaders (NDPFECL), also condemned the action through its Chairman, Chief Deine Amgbaloku.
Amgbaloku described as wicked and nonsensical, attempts to politicise the gains of the amnesty programme.
“It is incumbent on all of us, individually and collectively, to give credit to whom it is due as a form of encouragement to attain greater heights,’’ he said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Wednesday said it will investigate how a radio presenter Ordinary Ahmad Isa, got a card reader he displayed on his show.
Earlier on Wednesday, Isa on his weekly reality radio talk show, Brekete Family on Human Rights FM, Abuja, brought out a purported INEC card reader.
“So if I be bad person or politician now, na to program how many votes PDP go get, how many vote APC go get, how many votes APGA go get,” Isa said brandishing the card reader in the presence of an INEC official.
The radio presenter failed to disclose how he got the card reader when he was being asked by the official.
However, while reacting to this, INEC said it “will be investigated to ascertain whether what was shown was indeed an INEC Smart Card Reader, we wish to assure the public that mere possession does not in itself give the card reader or its operator access to our systems and processes.”
“All card readers to be deployed in elections are to be specifically configured and have certain unique attributes or credentials which must be known and recognised by our systems,” INEC added.
“It will NOT be able to receive or transmit data or communicate with the PVCs or our Servers.”
The INEC card reader is a portable electronic voting authentication device configured to read only the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) issued by the electoral body
The card reader was designed specifically for the accreditation process, authentication of eligible voters before voting.
According to INEC the machine was configured to read only the PVCs of a particular polling unit and can only work on election day.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has pointed out reasons Nigerians must vote out President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election.
Fani-Kayode said Buhari has failed as a leader, hence he should be voted out in the forthcoming election.
In an audio statement he released on his Twitter handle, the former Minister described Buhari as a sectional and vindictive leader, who puts his faith ahead of Nigeria.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain also highlighted some areas where Buhari has failed.
According to Fani-Kayode: “It’s a tragedy of immeasurable proportions that we have a president who is not fit physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally or morally to continue to lead this country. We have a president who in Warri addressed his party’s governorship candidate as the presidential candidate and when he was reminded that he was the governorship candidate not presidential he addressed him as a senatorial candidate.
“The other day in Lokoja, as he was mounting the podium to address his supporters Buhari slumped and would have fallen had it not been for his aides who held him. The other day in Kaduna, as he was sitting down before his supporters he almost collapsed. We have a president who during a live interview on TV, his Vice who was by his side was his spokesperson and all he could do was in a nonsensical manner of giving answers that had no bearing with the questions asked. As a matter of fact, it was his Vice who laterally held his hands to guide him and answered most of the questions on his behalf. It was so bad that the interviewer had to say to the Vice President ‘why don’t you let the President answer these questions himself.’ That is the type of leader we have today in Nigeria. We have a leader who in all his ways has been vindictive, divisive, cruel and proven to destroy the unity of our nation. A unity which was born out of bitter civil war in which millions of people were killed.
“We have a president who has utmost contempt for other arms of government and seek to remove the Chief Justice of the Federation, sought to remove a Senate President, totally demean the media and sought to bring Nigerians to their knees because he wants to remain in power. We have a President who believes Northern Muslims that do not view the world like him are nothing but slaves and scum and he has no sense of unity. We have a president who believes he’s a Northern Fulani Muslim before being a Nigerian citizen, he puts his tribe and faith before his nation, and he has no sense of unity.
“We have a president that sees nothing wrong in the fact that every single security chief of our country are all Northern Muslims except for one which is the Navy. This is in a multi-racial, multi-religious nation like Nigeria where we have almost two hundred million people and this president believes that it’s important to keep power in the hands of his own people at the exclusion of others.
“May God deliver and protect out great nation and deliver us from this affliction and plague. He has become utterly reprehensible and we can no longer accept him as our leader.
“I urged every single Nigerian to consider the elections coming next month and to understand and appreciate the fact that we need to vote this man out of power if we want Nigeria to survive as one nation, Buhari has to go. If we want Nigeria not to enter into any conflict which will have monumental implication on the whole West African sub-region and indeed the world, Buhari has to go. If we want to ensure that our children have a future in this great nation, Buhari has to go.”

The presidency says it has transmitted the National Minimum Wage Bill to both chambers of the National Assembly.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, confirmed this to Channel Television on Wednesday, saying that the bill was transmitted to the parliament earlier in the day.
Senator Enang, however, did not give details of the content of the bill.
The development comes barely 24 hours after the National Council of State approved the sum of N27,000, which the Federal Government, however, said it would increase to N30,000 for its workers.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kwara, Malam Garba Athairu- Madami, has called on the media in the state to help in educating the public on voting procedures.
Athairu- Madami made the call in Ilorin on Wednesday at a meeting he had with members of the State Inter-Agency Advisory Committee on Voter Education and Publicity (SICVEP).
According to him, the media has a crucial role to play to ensure the success of the elections in the country.
Athairu- Madami, who described the media as the eye of the public, said it was shaping opinion in the society.
INEC to recruit 15,000 ad hoc staff for elections in C/River
The REC appealed to the media to specifically educate the electorate on how to thumb print and fold their ballot papers on the day of election.
“We need the media to preach peace to the people of the state because without peace, we cannot get things done,” he added.
Athairu- Madami also told the media to mobilise the people to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the Feb. 8, 2019 deadline for collection of PVCs.
The REC used the occasion to reiterate his readiness to conduct the freest, fairest and most acceptable elections in the state.
He added that a total of 1, 095,781 PVCs have so far been collected out of the 1, 406,437 registered in the state.
Athairu- Madami, however, expressed the hope that those concerned would pick up the remaining 311,619 PVCs yet to be collected before the expiration date.
To achieve this, the REC said he had directed his staff to take the collection of the PVCs to the ward level from Friday to Sunday.
“I enjoin Kwarans to come out en masse and collect their Permanent Voter Cards if they have not done so.
“I equally implore those who have collected their PVCs to exercise their civic responsibility.
“I must, however, urge Kwarans to be careful and orderly while participating in these exercises,” the REC said.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi has reiterated his support for a pro-business administration with his impromptu visit to markets in Lagos, to understand first hand, what they go through.
The visit ended up becoming a carnival of some sort, as the traders in the markets closed their shops, shut down the streets, while chanting praises of the two term Governor of Anambra State.
Recall that while Obi was Governor of Anambra State, he ran an anti-wastage government which cut down on cost of running governance, starting from selling off the Governor’s lodge in Abuja, so he could fund education in the state.
Anambra State later moved from 28th in education across the country to 1st because of this radical initiative by Obi.
He was welcomed in the most joyous of ways with jubilant crowd, chanting and singing songs with his name.

Former Senate President, David Mark, has revealed the only crime of Governor Samuel Ortom that has earned him persecution from the Federal Government.
He said Governor Ortom’s sin is that he has stood firmly in defence of the people of the state.
Senator Mark stated this at Oju during the Governor’s campaign tour of the local government area.
Mark said that the Governor had “demonstrated courage, resilience and determination to defend his people by putting his life on the line.”
The former Senate President urged the traditional rulers not “to stop at blessing the Governor alone but also work very hard for his victory and that of other People’s Democratic Party, PDP, candidates at the polls in the state.”
According to him, “the PDP was out to salvage the country.”
Earlier Governor Samuel Ortom told the traditional rulers that he was in their domain to solicit royal blessings and support for his re-election and the election of other PDP candidates in this year’s general elections.
He stated that his government had lived up to its responsibility of protecting lives and property of Benue people by enacting the Open Grazing Prohibition law in line with the desire of the people and resolve of his administration to end the lingering herders and farmers crises.
The Governor noted that even as agents of the Federal Government had made uncharitable comments against the law, he was not deterred because it was the global best practice in animals husbandry.
Acting Ada Oju, Prince Peter Ogbole, while assuring the Governor of their royal blessings and support in the coming elections acknowledged the good deeds of the Governor including the creation of a first class stool for the people of the area.

Jose Mourinho admitted Saturday that he once got round a two-match ban by hiding in a laundry basket so he could give a team-talk before a Champions League match.
Mourinho, sacked by Manchester United in December, told BeIN Sports how he skirted a touchline suspension on the eve of the 2005 quarter-final against Bayern Munich by getting the Chelsea kit man to help him stow away in the basket.
“I go to the dressing room during the day so I was there from midday and the game is seven o’clock. I just want to be in the dressing room when the players arrive,” the 55-year-old recalled.
“I went there and nobody see me. The problem was to leave after. And the kit man put me in the basket. It was a little bit open so I could breathe.
“But when he is taking it outside the dressing room, the UEFA guys were following and desperate to find me so he closed the box and I couldn’t breathe. When he opened the box I was dying.”

Championship Club Derby County have announced the signing of Chelsea Legend Ashley Cole.
38-year-old Cole spent the last three seasons with the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer, but was released following the end of the 2018 campaign.
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to secure Ashley’s services for the rest of the season," Frank Lampard said in a statement.
“He’s a fantastic player, a quality left-back, and he also brings great experience to the dressing room."
"I know him very well from our time together at Chelsea, and with England, and I also know what he can bring to the group and the influence he will have.
"Ashley is in good shape, which doesn't surprise me because he's an excellent professional, and he will compete for a place in the side like every other player here.

Usain Bolt’s mission to become a professional footballer appears to have hit the skids, with the former Jamaican sprinter saying his “sports life is over”.
Eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt made the declaration due to frustration in his bid to begin a post-athletics career in football. The star athlete walked out on his two-month trial with A-League strugglers Central Coast last year and admitted not everything about his pursuit for a professional contract was well thought out.
“I don’t want to say it wasn’t dealt with properly, but I think we went about it, not the way we should,” he said. “It was a good experience. I really enjoyed just being in a team and it was different from track and field and it was fun while it lasted.” He also added: “You live and you learn. It was a good experience I really enjoyed just being in a team.”
The Olympian was unable to agree a contract with the Mariners but he did manage to score two goals in a trial match against a Macarthur South West United side before his time in Australia came to an end.
Bolt has also trained with Norwegian team Stromsgodset and German giants Borussia Dortmund in his quest to become a professional footballer and reportedly rejected a two-year contract offer from Maltese club Valletta.
Bolt, who retired from athletics in 2017, has said his focus now lies with his various commercial endeavours.
“I’m now moving into different businesses, I have a lot of things in the pipeline, so as I say, I’m just dabbling in everything and trying to be a business man now.”

A collective negligence led to racial profiling at youth-team level inside Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, French league authorities said Tuesday when fining the club 100,000 euros ($114,000).
The affair began when French investigative website Mediapart revealed racial profiling by talent scouts since 2013 where potential youth signings were identified by their ethnicity.
The Qatari-owned club also face an upcoming hearing from the Paris prosecutors on the same matter.
The football league said the use of these forms had no part in a general racial profiling culture.
“From what we can see PSG did not use the information on ethnicity for discriminatory ends. There is no case of discrimination that can be proved,” LFP disciplinary commissioner Sebastien Deneux said at a press conference.

A White woman who changed her skin to black has disclosed that her doctors have told her, she and her white husband could have black-skinned children.
Martina Big and her husband, Michael joined Holly Willoughby and John Barrowman on This Morning to talk about how they’ve changed race and could have a black baby.
The German model, who began taking melanin injections two years ago to transform from a white woman to a black woman, revealed the many physical changes that have taken place, telling audiences:
‘The skin is getting darker and my growing hair is changing and getting curly and more dark.’
Besides also admitting that she now identifies as a black woman, Martina revealed how doctors said her and her white husband could give birth to a black child.
‘Yes, they said they’re going to be black,’ Martina said.
‘We are not having plans, but I am discussing with my doctor to see if my body is okay, will I be able to breastfeed, what the baby will look like.
‘I’m trying to think genetically how that is possible,’ Holly interrupted. ‘If you give birth to a white child will you somehow think it’s not connected to you?’
‘No,’ Martina replied. ‘It’s a mix of Michael and me. I’m pretty sure it will be black or milk chocolate or a little bit light, it doesn’t matter.’

A young lady allegedly stripped unclad and ran mad at the Abkpa area of Enugu, Tuesdays after she dropped from a public bus at Texaco filling station. On waiting to get another bus that will take her to Obiagu, she started stripping herself.
According to passersby, they claimed the young lady must have been used for some money rituals.
The lady was captured on camera roaming on the streets utterly unclad, as people were taking pictures and videos of her around 9:00am.

A 14-year-old boy was, on Monday, remanded at the Oregun Correctional Home for Boys by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defiling his three step sisters.
The teenager, who resides in No. 11 Olayinka Adenubi Street, Mafoluku, in the Oshodi area of Lagos, is facing three counts of defilement, indecent assault and s*xual abuse, while his mother, Ihuoma Oke, is facing a charge of parental neglect.
The teenager pleaded not guilty to the charges.
It was gathered that he forcefully had carnal knowledge of the victims, who were his stepsisters and aged two, five and 10 years, respectively.
According to the police prosecutor, Simeon Imhonwa, the victims told their caregiver, who reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused.
Imhonwa added that the accused committed the offences sometime in November 2018 at his residence.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravenes sections 135 and 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 (revised) and Section 10 of the Child Rights Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olufunke Sule-Amzat, ordered that the teenager be remanded in the correctional home and that the case file be duplicated and a copy sent to the state Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.
The magistrate adjourned the case till April 8 for mention.

According to a report by TheGuardian, a University of Benin (UNIBEN) graduating student, Emmanuel Oluwasayomi Ahmadu, popularly known as Mr. Voiceover, has revealed how he survived a suicide attempt after he had written O’level examinations 17 times, attended 16 primary schools, took the University Matriculation Examination (UME) five times and enrolled into 14 secondary schools before gaining admission into the university.
Ahmadu, who recently got an international award for student brand of the year West Africa, organized by West Africa Citizens Award, said he scaled through his ordeal of attempted suicide after enduring depression and hopelessness.
He said: ”I felt hopeless and desperate, with bleak pessimistic view of the future. It was such a heart-breaking experience for me to see my junior colleagues turned university graduates before my eyes and worse still, to see my self still wearing secondary school uniform and repeatedly rewriting O’level exams until the 17th time.
“All these were happening to me as a result of family crisis, and along the line, I became an orphan. I was haunted continually with low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness. I am today thankful to God that I did not succumb to the pressures to end my life. I am being celebrated today.” Surviving a suicide attempt may be seemingly impossible to victims; however, he revealed his recovering process to The Guardian. “I survived suicide thoughts by distancing myself and shifting attention away from the negative thoughts that could lead to a more devastating situation.
“I tried as much as possible to surround myself with people who care about me and let them know what I was going through. And I often remind myself that recovery is possible, especially from the numerous setbacks. At the weekend, the story came to light about the reported suicide of one Michael Asiwaju, known as Mike Cash, the founder of Asiwaju Royal Furniture. Mike was said to have drank Sniper, a poisonous insecticide in his hotel room on January 13, 2019 in Lagos a day after he threatened to take his life.Two days into the New Year, Lagos-based disc jockey (DJ), Seun Omogaji, popularly known as DJ XGee, committed suicide few hours after posting a cryptic note on his Instagram account. It was gathered that Omogaji allegedly took his life by gulping the insecticide, Sniper after unresolved marital crises.
Last year, one Ifeanyi Ugokwe was arrested and locked up for several weeks. His crime: He tried to take his own life. After weeks of reportedly being hungry and jobless, the 25-year-old claimed he reached breaking point after a security guard pushed him to the ground while he was searching for work at a building site.
“I was tired of walking around that day. And I was determined to work there, I tried to force my way in, then he pushed me, and I fell down flat on the floor,” Ugokwe had told CNN.“I started begging him because I was tired. I really needed that job because I needed to eat.” Humiliated, Ugokwe went to a nearby lagoon and jumped in. After being rescued by fishermen, Ugokwe said he was handed over to police officers who arrested and put him behind bars.
Attempting suicide is a criminal offence in Nigeria, under Section 327 of the Criminal Code Act, and carries a penalty of up to one year in prison. The law was abolished in Britain under the Suicide Act of 1961, which happened after Nigeria gained its independence in 1960. Ugokwe said he is speaking out about his attempt to take his own life despite the stigma around the subject in Nigeria because he does not want people to suffer as he did.
Ajayi Yewande Elizabeth, a 400-level Psychology student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), noted that for every suicide, there are 25 suicide attempts arising from depression, failure or low self-esteem. She advised that sharing of thoughts with someone close or talking to a therapist could best curb suicide thoughts in the society.
Dr. Jubril Abdulmalik, a consultant psychiatrist has advised that inaccurate media depictions of mental health must stop, especially in Nigeria. He said the media must go beyond seeking traction when it comes to reporting on mental health issues and cases.
Citing examples of recent reports on suicide cases in Nigeria, the psychiatrist said the media must approach reports of mental health from a human angle and take leads from positions that do not seek to glorify the ugly side of the tragic events. A man got stuck while having s*x with a married woman, according to an online report.
A native doctor had to be invited to perform some ritual on the pair after they secret was brought to light in a dramatic way.
In a viral video posted by Tonny, a Facebook user who hails from Kenya, the woman can be seen writhing in pains on the bed as the native doctor performed the ritual.
The couple were covered up with a blanket while the drama was going on even as people entered the room to film them.
This is not the first time such incident has happened in Kenya.
A husband accused of cheating was ‘caught’ after becoming stuck inside his lover while they were having s*x in a hotel room in Kenya.
Guests at the hotel in Kitale town, Trans-Nzoia County, heard screams coming from one of the rooms and raised the alarm.
On arrival police reportedly found the couple ‘stuck together’ and doctors had to be called in to free them.

A man was stabbed to death by his brother over a disagreement during a dog meat ritual for their late father, according to reports.
The incident happened about 7:45pm yesterday in Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo District of the Northern Region, Ghana.
The two brothers namely Nwenle Takia (52) and Bignani Takia (50) began the fight over a small goat and cooked dog meat following a sacrifice both performed to their late father.
In the process Nwenle Takia, the elder pulled a knife and stabbed Bignani Takia on his left armpit, upper top of his left breast and his testis. Bignani reportedly died instantly.
His body was sent to the Faith Community hospital- Nakpanduri where post- mortem examination was performed.
The body has since been released to the family for burial while the Nwenle Takia is in police custody.
