elharuna:Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of payment cards that were designed in the 1950s. The system uses its own currency, the Q, and to get people to start using the system once it's ready they are allocating Qs for free to people that sign up now (the amount drops as more people join - so better to join early). Signing up is free and they only ask for your name and an email address. There's nothing to lose but if this payment system becomes a world leading payment method your Qs can be worth a lot. If you missed getting bitcoin seven years ago, you wouldn't want to miss this.

Here is my invite link: initiativeq.com/invite/rmXpX-QxN

This link will stop working once I’m out of invites. Let me know after you registered, because I need to verify you on my end. Anybody can join and reserve Q, and each will be distributed at 1$ per Q. I was also get know about this project from my friend in japan. So anyone from any where can join and if the project is successful. Q will worth alot and will soon overcome crypto world in acceptance.

The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abia State, Chief Donatus Nwamkpa has been kidnapped, few hours to the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Benedict Godson confirmed this to Daily Trust this morning.

It would be recalled that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB have frowned at Buhari's visit. They urged residents to stay away from the campaign ground.

Buhari has often been criticized for sanctioning the Operation Python Dance II in Abia State which led to the death of many IPOB apologists.

Details later.

Primeauto:Bible And Birth Certificate Survive Fire Outbreak In A Residential Building.

According to reports, a Bible and a baptism certificate were the only things reported to have survived a fire outbreak which engulfed a residential building in Cape Town, South Africa.

Neliswa Mgidi told Daily Sun her grandchild saw the fire while returning from the shop.

“I was sitting on the other side of the house when I heard him shouting that there was a fire coming from the back of the RDP house,” said Neliswa.

She said the fire started at the back where there were three houses.

Neliswa said: “No one lives where the fire started so that’s why we are shocked and confused by this.” Only a Bible and the baptism certificate of her late mother survived the flames.

“We are left with nothing so we will take any help that comes our way,” said Neliswa.

Sindile Mgidi, the 10-year-old boy who saw the fire when it started, said he quickly called his gogo even though he was not aware it was coming from the back of his house.

Arsenal are negotiating to sign two
players before the transfer window
closes on Thursday, but manager Unai
Emery says they are not in the market
for a defender despite a host of injuries
to his back line.
The London club have been linked with
a move for Inter Milan winger Ivan
Perisic, with Italian and British papers
reporting that the 29-year-old Croatia
international has handed in a transfer
request.
Barcelona winger Denis Suarez is the
other player linked with the Emirates
Stadium outfit.
“We are looking at two different players
and the possibility they can come,”
Emery told a news conference on
Monday ahead of Tuesday’s Premier
League game against Cardiff City.
“This transfer window is not easy and
the message is the club is working on
different players and the possibility if it
can be is good for us.”

Centre back Sokratis Papastathopoulos
faces a spell on the sidelines due to an
ankle injury and fellow defender

Full back Hector Bellerin and central
defender Rob Holding have long-term
knee injuries.
Emery said he did not want to sign
defensive cover because it would lead to
problems when his injured players
returned to fitness.
“We have enough players, centre-backs
in the squad,” he said. “We’re having a
lot of injuries and a lot in this position.
If we can bring another player and
when all the players want to play we
can have a lot of trouble in future.”
Arsenal, fifth in the league and three
points behind Chelsea in fourth, were
knocked out of the FA Cup by
Manchester United on Friday.
Emery said the cup exit would allow his
team to put all their efforts into
qualifying for the Champions League.
“Our focus now is very clear - the
Premier League,” he added. “We’re also
going to play the Europa League with
big motivation. It’s one way to the
Champions League.”

Getafe on Saturday criticized the
player’s signing
Atletico Madrid signed striker Alvaro
Morata on Monday to an 18-month loan
from Chelsea, ending his miserable stay
in English soccer following aclub-record
move from Real Madrid for $75 million.
Morata will return to the club where he
started playing as a child. The 26-year-
old Spaniard passed his medical exam
on Sunday in Madrid.
“I’m very happy and proud to be here,”
he said. “I can’t wait to start practising
with my teammates and to start
playing.”
Morata played in Atletico’s youth
program before joining Real Madrid’s
academy in 2008. He eventually became
a first-team player for Real Madrid and
helped it win two Champions League
titles.
His links to Real Madrid caused some
Atletico fans to protest against the
transfer. Part of the crowd attending the
team’s 2-0 win over Getafe on Saturday
criticized the player’s signing.
Financial details of the transfer were
not immediately released.
Morata returns to the Spanish league
after a disappointing year-and-a-half
with Chelsea, which he joined in the
2017-18 season. His last appearance
with the English club was against
Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Jan.
5, when he scored both goals in the
team’s 2-0 win.
Chelsea was the first big club where
Morata was signed as the first-choice
striker — he was used primarily as a
back-up at Real Madrid and Juventus.
He had problems adapting to the
gruelling nature of English soccer,
scoring seven goals in his first seven
competitive games before finding the
net only eight times in his final 40
games last season.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri called
Morata “a little bit fragile from the
mental point of view,” and said he
needed a new striker to cure Chelsea’s
shortage of goals. The London team has
since brought in Gonzalo Higuain on
loan from Juventus.
Morata was not a regular starter under
Sarri, scoring five goals in the Premier
League.
He heads to Atletico as a request by
coach Diego Simeone, whose forwards
include Antoine Griezmann, Victor
“Vitolo” Machin, Nikola Kalinic and
Diego Costa.
Vitolo and Costa have been out of action
with injuries, with the Brazilian-born
striker Costa not expected to be
available for a while because of a foot
injury that required surgery last year.
Morata has made 27 appearances with
Spain’s national team, with 13 goals. He
was part of the team that played in the
2016 European Championship in
France, but missed out on the squad for
the 2018 World Cup in Russia because
of his poor club form.
The striker has 82 goals and 37 assists
in his career.
A day before Morata’s arrival, Atletico
said they agreed to loan Portugal
forward Gelson Martins to Monaco for
the remainder of the season. Martins
scored one goal in 12 appearances with
Atletico this season.
Atletico trail Spanish league leader
Barcelona by five points after 21
matches. They will face Juventus in the
last 16 of the Champions League on Feb.

Crime / Re: My Mother Told Me To Poison My Father - Young Boy Makes Shocking Claim In Court by lokoso: 06:29 am On 1 Jan 2019
Emmaronad2:A 10-year-old boy on Monday told a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan that his mother asked him to put poison in his father’s food and bathing water, the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports.

Adenike Ayodele, the mother of the boy, had petitioned the court to dissolve her 15-year-old marriage to her estranged husband, Adeshina, on grounds of irresponsibility and battery.

In his testimony, the boy told the court that his mother gave him a nylon which contained some powdery substance which she instructed him to pour in his father’s food as well as his bathing water.

“After giving me the substance, my mother warned me never to tell my father or anyone about it.

“However, I love my father and I told him because I never wanted any bad thing to happen to him,” he said.

Earlier, Adenike, who lives at Agbaje area of Orita-challenge, Ibadan, had told the court that Adeshina had turned her into a punching bag.

“At any slight opportunity, my husband beats me.

“For 14 years, Adeshina has not stopped beating me and the last one he did was the reason why I made up my mind to call it quits with him.

“On that day, I requested for money for the upkeep of the children and Adeshina gave me a beating resulting in blood dripping from my two ears.

“He also broke one of my legs that day and I am still experiencing the pain till today.

“Again, on December 5, 2018, Adeshina came to attack me in my shop because he was not happy that my business is doing well despite his inhumane treatment.

“Then, he threatened to ruin my business by all means and what followed was the burgling of my shop two Sundays ago.

“Now, all my means of livelihood have been burgled and I got him apprehended but without any positive result,” Adenike said.

In his response, Adeshina consented to the petitioner’s request for termination of the marriage, but denied all the allegations leveled against him.

“My lord, I had on different occasions given Adenike the children’s school fees.

“Aside that, when one of our children urgently needed a surgery to be performed on him, I gave Adenike the required money for the surgery, but she spent it on herself.

“I sent her to school to acquire NCE, but she told the school management that she is a widow which means that I am nothing to her.

“If I give her money to buy anything at home, she doesn’t put my name on the receipt.

“Worst of all, Adenike told our second child to put poison in my food and bathing water, but, the child revealed the secret to me and I informed my relatives about it,” Adeshina said.

All the witnesses that testified corroborated Adeshina’s submissions.

The petitioner, who was unruly during the court’s proceedings, was asked by the President of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade, to bring her parents to the court.

Genjina:

Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry did not speak to journalists after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

President Buhari met behind closed doors with Mbaka at the State House, Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that Mbaka, who came into the villa in a private maroon BMW car, was accompanied by a lady.

The cleric, according to NAN, did not disclose the outcome of the meeting between him and the president, which lasted about 35 minutes.

Mbaka, who did not speak to newsmen after the meeting, was once quoted as saying that “President Buhari is change, but former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is `bureau de change’.”

Abubakar is the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.

Mbaka was also recently quoted in the social media as calling on Buhari to effect changes in his leadership style to cushion the hardships experienced by citizens.

“So let the will of God be done in Nigeria. It is like what I have been saying Buhari change or you will be changed,’’ he said while addressing members of his Adoration Ministry.

However, Mbaka, during one of his sermons, predicted electoral victory for the president in the forthcoming general elections as he did in 2015.

Genjina:NWFL Chairperson, Aisha Falode (second right) hands over the winners’ trophy to Bayelsa Queens’ captain at the end of the Super Four championship, which was also witnessed by NFF First Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi (right).
The 2017/18 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) season officially came to a successful end on Sunday in Lagos with the emergence of Bayelsa Queens as the new champions of the Nigerian women top-flight league. The victory has now seen the Yenagoa side claim their fifth title.

The Restoration Girls shocked bookmakers as they stunned titleholders, Nasarawa Amazons with two unanswered goals in the NWPL Super Four final at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

Prior to the grand finale on Sunday, Bayelsa Queens served the needed notice of their intention to claim the top prize when they piped newcomers, Sunshine Queens 1-0 in the first day knockout match on Friday.

Former Ibom Angels’ markswoman, Charity Reuben claimed the Owena Mermaids scalp on the occasion. The Yenagoa side gaffer, Moses Aduku came out straight to declare his side performance as below par. The former Nigerian junior international blamed his side’s not-too-impressive performance on the harsh weather while promising a far improved performance on the final. And an improved performance the side put up to the admiration of the crowds and dignitaries that turned out en masse to savour the best of women football on display. They condemned the Lafia side and bookmakers favourites to achieve back-to-back to the painful act of retrieving the ball twice inside their net without a matching response.

Nasarawa Amazons may have sent out a strong signal that ended up a mere alarm when they overpowered their perennial nemesis, Rivers Angels 5-4 on penalties after full time scores stood at one goal apiece in the second knockout match on Friday to advance to the final.

Former Abia Angels goal poacher, Vivian Ikechukwu scored the match opener for Rivers Angels while Adejoke Ejalonibu even scores for the Lafia side thereby taking the match to penalties.
Amazons head coach, Chris Danjuma was audacious when he admitted shortly after the hard fought win that the Jewel of Rivers have been the reasons his side were short of key silverware in their cabinets.
For Danjuma the biggest hurdle to achieving back-to-back had been done and dusted as the trophy will be there for the picking against opponents, Bayelsa Queens.

That was not to be as Bayelsa Queens handler, Moses Aduku who claimed to be a Lagos guy and familiar with the Agege Stadium terrain had something else in mind as he charged his wards never to lose the trophy on Lagos ground more so they have proven themselves as superiors to the Lafia opposition in the past Aiteo Cup meeting.
Nasarawa Amazons lost the title but went home with the runners-up prize – silver medals and N2 million.

The biggest flops of the 2018 NWPL Super Four competition would certainly be the 2018 NWFL Champions Shield and Aiteo Cup winners, Rivers Angels. The Port Harcourt side with an enriched and intimidating profile arrived Lagos with renewed energy to make amend of the better-forgotten poor showing at the 2017 NWPL Super Four in Benin City but ended the campaign once again at the bottom.

Beaten 4-5 on penalties by Nasarawa Amazons on Friday the head coach of the side, Edwin Okon was humbled to opt for the third place victory, at least, to take something home to the Garden City.
However, his opposite at Sunshine Queens, Matthew Wemimo somehow shared the same thought, too that third place glory would not be a bad result to take home to Akure.

The losers’ match became a beautiful pride and keen contest that a gift of an own goal from Rivers Angels’ star, Amaechi Ojini in the 7th minute became decisive to grant the Akure side their heart’s desires, a bronze medal and N1 million.

The newest champions, Bayelsa Queens will square up against the Aiteo Cup winners, Rivers Angels to decide the overall best women team in the land when the clash in the Champions Shield on a date and venue yet to be decided by the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL). Rivers Angels are the current holders of the highly prized Cup.

NFF first vice president and Lagos state FA chairman, Seyi Akinwunmi, NRA president, Tade Azeez, former Nigerian players, Mutiu Adepoju, Chioma Ajunwa, Maureen Mmadu, Precious Dede, and LaLiga representatives, among others were dutifully present.

Of course, the NWFL board chairperson, Aisha Falode and her board members were there to ensure the four-day event remains evergreen in the memories of those who took time out to be present at the football showpiece.

Glory2019:A word spoken is past recalling, when the
word is out it belongs to another and other
proverbs that simply mean think first, then
speak are pretty useful because we all
know that words hurt more that action. It’s
true and what can be more annoying than
some stupid phrase. So here the list of
phrases from russian women which annoy
women most of all.
You’re just like all the others
Each woman considers herself unique and
the best one. Each one thinks that men
can behave rudely with any other woman,
but not with her. Unless you think that she
is unique and special one, you will treat her
as with all your girls. You will cheat,
humiliate and insult. Moreover, after such a
phrase, an unpleasant conversation should
necessarily follow. After such conversation
both partners remain unsatisfied. She’s
unsatisfied because you compared her to
other girls, you are because she’s just like
all the others.
My mom is doing this better
Your mom could cook, clean or do laundry
better but this don’t really matter. The
most upsetting for her in this situation is
not your skills assessmen, but your
comparing. It is clear that my mother is
doing everything better , she devoted
herself to family, she cooked and did
household chores for many years. The
point is that such careless sentence will
not change anything, the only result you
will have would be your upset girl.
You’re exactly like your mother
Under no circumstances should your say
something bad about her mom or other
relatives. You would look like a person who
doesn’t want to have nothing in common
with his girlfriend’s family. It is hard to
imagine that she will forgive this, especially
if she has e a very strong relationship with
the family, especially with mom.
We are just friends with my ex
Only women know how devious others
women could be. If you are in good
relationships with your ex, it’s okay with
you to help her sometimes with thing like
furniture removing and car repairing.
That’s your way to look at this situation,
but your girlfriend has her own views on
this situation. She can find such relations
not friendly at all. You can help your ex if
you want but it’s not a good idea name her
a friend.
Do you know that my ex…
Only thing that can be worst than naming
your ex your friend is an admiring of your
ex. Even if your ex was really a goddess in
bed, she cooked as good as chef in
restaurant from Michelin Guides , and
everything was sparkling in the house, you
should not mention this in front of your
girlfriend. Don’t even think about comparing
them. If your ex was so perfect why would
you left her.
I don’t have to explain myself to you
If a girl requires an explanation, then she is
sure that she has every right to do so.
Such a phrase like this one will lead her to
the idea that you have something to hide or
your relationship is not as serious as she
has hoped.
The next in our list of things that annoy
girls
Even if I explane you still don’t get it
This phrase sounds quite bad. It doesn’t
sound rude but subtly hint s that your
girlfriend is stupid. This phrase sounds as
much as saying something like this ‘ You
are so stupid and at the first opportunity
I’ll find new girlfriend, a smart one’. My
advice is to think twice before saying such
things.
“What’s wrong with your hair?” Your girl’s
hair looks great! And also hairdress, a
make-up and an outfit are perfect. You
need to understand that you can give the
girl advice and comments about her
appearance only when she asked you about
it.
“Are you sure that I’m a father?”
This question is not only annoying this
question also is a stupid one. Probably, she
is sure, once she came to you.
Men and women both often don’t think
what they says, so can annoy and offend
each other. However it’s a part of
relationships and it is a long way

Many people have been killed in an ongoing terrorist attack at hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

The terrorist attack which is still ongoing at an upscale hotel complex in Kenya’s capital has left many people dead.

AP reported that, Kenyan police officer among attack’s 1st responders says he saw bodies but ‘no time to count the dead’

It was gathered that the attack started with a blast and heavy gunfire. Witnesses and police at the scene are calling it a terror attack.

The complex in Nairobi includes a large hotel known as DusitD2, banks and offices. Several vehicles are burning. People are being rushed and carried from the scene while gunfire continues several minutes after the first reports.

Police spokesman Charles Owino says that “we have sent officers to the scene, including from the anti-terrorism unit, but so far we have no more information.” Ambulances, security forces and firefighters have rushed to the scene, sirens wailing.

The attack reminds many Kenyans of the Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi in 2013, when al-Shabab extremists burst into the luxury shopping center, hurling grenades and starting a days-long siege that left 67 people dead.

A Kenyan police officer who was among the first responders at the at Dusit Hotel attack says he saw bodies but ‘no time to count the dead’.

Some Kenyan hospitals are appealing for blood donations as the number of people wounded in an attack on an upscale hotel complex in Nairobi remains unknown.

Night has fallen and it is not immediately clear whether attackers are still active in the complex and how many people might be trapped or hiding inside.

The Somalia-based extremist group al-Shabab is claiming responsibility for the attack on an upscale hotel complex in Nairobi and says its members are still fighting inside.

Science/Technology / Re: Why Does Live Bodies Does Not Floats In Water, but Dead Bodies Does by lokoso: 03:54 pm On 1 Jan 2019
Xtianocommunication:Initially, bodies will likely sink to the bottom, but as bodies decompose and gasses are released in the body, the corpse will rise back to the surface as a result of buoyancy.
The reason that living human beings naturally float is because of the air in our lungs. The air acts as a buoyant force for the body, making it impossible for you to simply lie down at the bottom of a swimming pool. In the case of a corpse, however, they have no control over whether their lungs fill up or not. If the corpse falls in the water facedown, they might never sink to the bottom, as there will be no real chance for the air to escape from the lungs. However, if a corpse is put into the water on their back, air can escape, water can take its place, and the body will quickly sink.
If a person drowns, they don’t necessarily die because water fills up their lungs; often, the body will asphyxiate itself because the windpipe closes up against the presence of water. In this case, a body could potentially float for longer periods before eventually sinking to the bottom. However, given that almost every dead body falls beneath the surface eventually, once all the air is expelled from the lungs

HenryGee2310:Eating Fruit on Empty Stomach
By Prof. Ken Anugweje, UNIPORT.

This will open your eyes ! Read to the end; and then, send it to others on your list as I just did to u!

Prof Anugweje treats terminal ill cancer patients by an "un-orthodox" way and many patients recovered. He is also a sports medicine specialist.
He insists that all athletes eat fruits on empty stomach.

Before he used solar energy to clear the illnesses of his patients, he believes on natural healing in the body against illnesses. See his article below.

It is one of the strategies to heal cancer. As of late, my success rate in curing cancer is about 80%.

Cancer patients shouldn't die. The cure for cancer is already found - its in the way we eat fruits.

It is whether you believe it or not.

I am sorry for the hundreds of cancer patients who die under the conventional treatments.

EATING FRUIT

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths.

It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat the fruits.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!
5
FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH

If you eat fruits on empty stomach, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit.

The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so due to the bread taken before the fruit.

In the meantime the whole meal of bread & fruit rots and ferments and turns to acid.

The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals !

You have heard people complaining :

Every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc.. etc..

Actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach.

The fruit mixes with the putrefying of other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat !

Greying hair, balding, nervous outburst and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the SECRET of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans, packs or bottles.

Don't even drink juice that has been heated up.

Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all.

You only get its taste.
Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice.

If you should drink the fresh fruit juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse or detoxify your body.

Just eat fruits and drink fresh fruit juice throughout the 3 days.

And you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look !

KIWI fruit:
Tiny but mighty.
This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE:
An apple a day keeps the doctor away?
Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY:
Protective Fruit.
Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging and free radicals.

ORANGE :
Sweetest medicine.
Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON:
Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system.

They are also a key source of lycopene the cancer fighting oxidant.
Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA:
Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.

Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation.

Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking COLD water or drinks after a meal = CANCER

Can you believe this ?

For those who like to drink cold water or cold drinks, this article is applicable to you.

It is nice to have a cup of cold water or cold drinks after a meal.

However, the cold water or drinks will solidify the oily stuff that you have just eaten.

It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food.

It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into FATS and lead to CANCER !

It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says:
if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

So lets do it

admin:Money has more value than talent as a Nigerian artiste — Brianjo

Jonathan Chukwudebe, AKA Brianjo, formerly known as Black Jay, is an afro pop, R&B, dance hall cum high life singer. In this exclusive interview with Star Tracker, he speaks about his music career, life and travails as an artiste who has gone through the hard knocks of life just to succeed in his quest to do music. Meet him…

BY ROTIMI AGBANA & ABIGAIL OLAWOYIN

How long have you been into music?

I have been into music for over 15-years now.

You have been doing the same kind of music for 15-years?

Not really. You know entertainment is all about talent; sometimes you have the talent but there won’t be finance to make your project come through. But as a matter of fact I have the zeal to move forward as an ambitious lad, I’ve refused to give up; I keep on striving to make sure my dreams come true. so I started back then in 2003.

Brianjo
We have been on the street of Lagos because am an orphan, I lost my parents 25years ago in Plateau State, so I moved down to Lagos in 2003 for greener pastures, as an ambitious lad as I said initially I have no option than to follow my dream, I recorded my first single with the late OJB Jezreel in 2004/2005 then I couldn’t push it because there was no financial support from anywhere. Back then, we started with people like Rugged Man, the late Nomoreloss, Abounce, Jazzman Olofin and many others. As time went on, I decided to hold the bull by its horn.

I tried my luck by recording a new song in 2007/2008 with J Martins but I couldn’t promote that song because there was no money, no help from anywhere. But I kept striving, going to movie shows, back then with my old stage name, because I was then known as Black Jay, but now I’m Brianjo.

Did the loss of your parents have any effect on your music career?

It really affected me in every aspect of life, I couldn’t complete my studies anymore, as I moved ahead to read physiology in UNIJOS. But I couldn’t afford to accomplish my dreams anymore. I couldn’t afford to feed myself. I then moved down to Lagos to follow my dreams, so, as a matter of fact, I decided to record a new song in 2009 when someone came in from London, that he wanted to sign me on. He wanted us together. Even the interviews were everywhere in the Sun Newspapers, Vanguard and other media houses.

I recorded that song but couldn’t push it, because I did not find the man anymore. So, in 2010, I recorded another song with Meka E, which along the line we couldn’t push anymore. Then in 2014, I recorded another new song which I didn’t promote anymore. We kept recording, and in 2015 I recorded my success album with Don L37 at M.I Chocolate City Studios. As God would have it, I recorded a new song, presently with D-Tunez, titled ‘Farabale’. That’s the song we are working on now.

Could we say lack of fund actually affected your career?

Yes, lack of funds affected me, greatly. Even then, I had a motor accident in 2010/2011, and this too, affected me. To crown it all, lack of funds really affected my career.

Judging by the nature of the Nigerian music industry, would you agree that talent is more important that money to an artiste?

I disagree with this. Not only in the Nigeria industry, presently, talent is indeed good; it’s good to be talented but money is another thing, because, for you to record the song, to print the promo copies, to promote on blogs, on the internet, radio, television, it’s all about money, so money is equally very important. Some people actually have financial back up; and with a strong financial back up, you’ll scale through the hurdles in the industry quite easily.

Would you say a strong financial back up was what helped Mr. Eazi?

Yes, money is involved, his talent is there; Mr. Eazi is a talented artiste, he has the talent but the money played a vital role in his career. In the promotional aspect of it, he really spends money to scale through, because, even me, that is speakijng, presently, I have been spending to the best of my ability.

Even if I agree with you that an artiste spends money to promote his music, would you also spend money to make your fans love your music? Not really, that’s why it’s good to be humble, honest, down to earth, never look down on people, don’t see them as nobody, don’t isolate them, because you don’t really know what tomorrow may bring. Anybody can make it tomorrow, anybody can be a celebrity, but by God’s grace.

What do you think about the quality of music, artistes release these days?

To me it’s all about choice, that’s why we have different genres of music; sometimes we have clap songs, controversial songs, there are songs that are inspirational while there are songs that you just replay and never get tired, and songs we play in parties consistently for just merriment and enjoyment. To me I think every song or video you see out there is a matter of choice and what you as an individual wants to do or portray.

Do you mean artistes should not be mindful of what they portray in their lyrics or videos considering that the younger generation often see them as role models?

Actually, artistes need to be mindful of what they say in their songs and likewise be mindful of what they do in their videos. For example, when you are shooting a video, at the pool side, girls can wear bikini and I’m not against that, because I do that also. But there are some acts that are not acceptable in some musical videos of today, because of the younger generation.

Does winning awards translate to being a good artiste?

I don’t think wining an award makes you a good artiste; it just means people love what you’re doing and they appreciate you. But to me what makes you a good artiste is for people to relate with your songs and if your fans know what you’re doing. If people love what you’re, if they love the kind of songs you’re giving them, I think to me that the best award we can get, I still appreciate awards if it’s been giving to me though.

kenability:Hello postmanians,
I have been wondering what fate awaits our education system under this Government. Please this post is meant to be objective and am not in anyway campaigning for any politician.
INEC released a statistics which shows a strong 24 million number of registered voters are youths and students. With such a number i believe the students can and should rise and change the face of this years election. Am so sorry to say but are we not all tired of the fact that our leaders do not value education? But i blame us yes the youths and even the academia because we have all left politics for the less educated.

Imagine when your president, senator or Governor is a grade II certificate holder in this age of educational advancement.how are they going to value education?

Also imagine the disrespect our constitution gives to education because it qualifies a person to contest for any political office with an SSCE which is not even a qualification used for sales girls jobs now in Nigeria.
How do you expect somebody who never had a tatse of the four walls of the tertiary institution to understand the effects of strikes?

I urge all of us youths and students to be very objective come February and elect people especially lawmakers who are educated and have positive plans for the System. Enough is enough we must use our votes to demand and end to incessant strike and poor attention to education. Until we show we are powerful with our votes these politicians would not take us seriously.
It is now or never.

Truevine:Publicity Secretary, All Progressives Congress
(APC) Mr Joe Igbokwe, in Lagos State, says the
party delivered more projects in the South East in
three years than the PDP did in 16 years.
Igbokwe said this on the sidelines of a town hall
meeting organised by the Ndi-Igbo in APC Lagos
State.
The meeting was to interact with the party’s
gubernatorial candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu
and his running mate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, in
Lagos.
According to Igbokwe, the APC-led administration
has beaten the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
hands down in terms of projects and structures
on ground in the South East.
”We have been doing the arithmetic, almost four
years of APC beat 16years of PDP hands down in
terms of performance.
“We have seen what we did not see in 16 years of
PDP administration. The facts are there. That is
what we are telling our people in the South East,”
he said.
Igbokwe said there was need for the South East
people to key in by supporting and voting for APC
in the coming elections so as not to lose out.
He said that the people from the South East
needed to be wise, as voting massively for APC
would guarantee Igbo presidency in 2023.
”Again, we do not want the Igbo people to make
the same mistake they made in 2015, because
there is no road for PDP and it is going to be like
that for a long time.
”If you have been clamouring to produce the
President of Nigeria from the Igbo extraction, you
must play the politics and this is the time.
”Assuming our people vote massively for APC this
2019, 2023 is sure and already near.
”May they never make the mistake of the past,
because if they do, they will be spectators and
onlookers in the matters of Nigerian politics, ”
Igbokwe said. (NAN)

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic celebrates with the championship trophy during the presentation ceremony after his victory against Spain’s Rafael Nadal in the men’s singles final on day 14 of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne/ AFP
An imperious Novak Djokovic won a record magnificent seventh Australian Open title by routing Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 Sunday with a display of flawless tennis.

The Serbian world number one dominated the Spanish second seed to win his 15th Grand Slam title in just 2hr 4min on Rod Laver Arena.

It put Djokovic, 31, out on his own ahead of Roger Federer and Roy Emerson, who both won six Australian Open men’s singles titles.

Djokovic dropped to his knees and kissed the ground after vanquishing his greatest rival.

“I’m just trying to contemplate on the journey in the last 12 months,” said an emotional Djokovic, pausing for breath to compose himself and not become tearful.

“I had the surgery exactly 12 months ago,” he added, referring to an elbow operation that saw him slump out of the world’s top 20 before bouncing back to win Wimbledon and the US Open.

“To be standing nowhere in front of you today and managing to win this title and three out of four Slams, this is amazing. I am speechless.”

The pair’s only previous final in Australia, in 2012, developed into a record-breaking 5hr 53min slugfest — the longest in Grand Slam history.

A repeat of that epic never materialised with Nadal uncharacteristically nervous at the start and Djokovic taking an immediate advantage that he would never relinquish.

– ‘Fighting spirit’ –
“Even if tonight was not my best day, of course, I had someone that played a lot better than me tonight,” said Nadal.

“I have been going through tough moments in the last year. I was not able to play until the first round here. Even if tonight was not my night it’s so important for me to be where I am coming back from injury.”

Djokovic noted that the duo had both endured injury-ravaged 2018 campaigns.

“Obviously a tough match tonight, but … you came back from an injury that took you out from the tour since September last year,” Djokovic said of Nadal.

“You’re showing to me and to all your other colleagues and many young tennis players around the world what is definition of the fighting spirit and resilience.”

The Spaniard had not had his service broken since the third set of his first round match but that streak ended in a flash as the Serb came sprinting out of the blocks.

– Total control –
Djokovic was in total control on his own delivery and won his first four service games without conceding a single point, even inducing Nadal to miss a forehand completely on the way to grabbing the set in 36 minutes.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Djokovic racing through games on his own serve, while Nadal struggled to hold.

The pressure told in the fifth game and Djokovic broke again when Nadal hit a lob volley long after an exchange at the net.

The on-song Serb was so fired up he broke Nadal again to go to 5-2 before serving out for a two-set lead with three aces in a row with just 1hr 16min on the clock.

The statistics were as telling as the scoreline: Djokovic had served eight aces to Nadal’s one and made just four unforced errors while the Spaniard had coughed up 20.

When Djokovic broke again in the third game of the third set it was just a matter of how quickly he would finish off Nadal.

The end was swift, as Djokovic withstood one break point at 3-2 before administering the last rites in a flurry of winners off both wings.

Victory extended his win-loss record against Nadal to 28-25 and squared the Grand Slam final count between the pair at 4-4.

Djokovic has now completed a hat-trick of Slams

Tayofans:Until Saturday, January 11, 2019, not many Nigerians would have heard of the name Anti-Corruption And Research-Based Data Initiative (ARDI).

It was on that day that the news broke of the petition filed by the civil rights group against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN),Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) alleging that he owns ” sundry accounts primarily funded through cash deposits made by himself up to as recently as 10th August 2016, which appear to have been run in a manner inconsistent with financial transparency and the code of conduct for public officials.”

It said Onnoghen did not declare the accounts as required by law.

That petition is now threatening to consume Onnoghen, who was sent on suspension yesterday by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The ARDI petition, dated January 7, 2019, was received two days later by the CCB, according to online publication, TheCable, which broke the news.

Things moved in quick succession with the Federal Government filing a six-count charge against him for alleged failure to declare some of his assets, including about $3million.

The $3million is said to be lodged in five accounts.

The domiciliary and Naira accounts in the Standard Chartered Bank are coded as USD account No. 870001062650; Euro account No. 93001062686; Pound Sterling A/CNo. 285001062679; e-Saver Savings (Naira) account No. 5001062693; and a Naira A/C No. 010001062667.

The charge sheet is dated January 10 and was filed on January 11.

A CCB investigator, Mr. James Akpala, said in an affidavit in support of the charges against Onnoghen, that the filing of the case stemmed from a petition against the CJN.

Akpala was silent on the name of the petitioners.

He merely said: “I know as a fact that the Head Office of the Bureau received a petition alleging that the CJN failed to declare his assets according to the law.”

ARDI describes itself as “a whistleblower and an Anti-Corruption Awareness disseminator, whose effort is to strengthen our democracy and ensure transparent, accountable and responsive governance devoid of corruption for our society.”

The civil society group said its petition was necessitated by “the imminence of the 2019 General Elections and the overwhelming roles of the Judicial Arm both before and after.”

It claimed that Onnoghen owns “sundry accounts primarily funded through cash deposits made by himself up to as recently as 10th August 2016, which appear to have been run in a manner inconsistent with financial transparency and the code of conduct for public officials.”

It alleged that Onnoghen made five cash deposits of $10,000 each on March 8, 2011 into Standard Chartered Bank Account 1062650; two separate cash deposits of $5000 each and four deposits of $10,000 each on June 7, 2011.

Five similar cash deposits of $10,000 followed on June 27, 2011, and another four deposits of $10,000 each the following day.

Onnoghen, according to the petition, failed to declare his assets immediately after taking office, contrary to section 15 (1) of Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act; and that he did not comply with the constitutional requirement for public servants to declare their assets every four years during their career.

It added that the CJN appeared “to have suppressed or otherwise concealed the existence of these multiple domiciliary accounts owned by him, as well as the substantial cash balances in them.”

It said the CJN’s financial transactions appeared suspicious and not justifiable by his lawful remuneration at all material times.

Detectives investigating the finances of the suspended CJN last weekend turned their attention to his salary account.

Sources said they may have unearthed evidence that the salary account laid untouched in the bank for 18 months at a stretch.
