A video documentary focuses on prostitution and human trafficking in Germany was aired.

The video documentary report reveals that most women working in prostitution in Germany are migrants – many of them are victims of human trafficking, most of the women are from Eastern Europe or Nigeria. The video shows Nigerian prostitutes on the streets of Germany because it's legal there.

Some estimates say up to 90% of the women in prostitution in Germany are migrants. While prostitution is mainly legal in Germany, many of the women in the business are victims of human trafficking. They are often lured with false promises of well-paid work and then forced into prostitution when they arrive Europe.

A new law was introduced in Germany in July 2017. It was meant to identify victims of human trafficking. It requires people in prostitution to register and attend a health counseling interview.

In Germany there is an organization called K.O.K that help migrants and victims of human trafficking.

"Tinubu’s Statement is Filled With Untruth, Fallacies And Misrepresentations "– SarakiBy Mod - 2 minutes ago - [ Update Politics ]

Senate President Bukola Saraki has described as fallacious, a claim by Bola Ahmed Tinubu suggesting that he and the leadership of the National Assembly, hijacked the 2018 budget and by extension stifled progress in Nigeria within the last four years. 

The Senate President in a riposte on Sunday, argued that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) should know more about the inner working of the Nation Assembly in that he has been a legislator himself.

Tinubu had on Sunday, accused him and the House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, of highjacking the 2018 national budget process.

In his statement titled, ‘Tinubu Focusing on the Issues of Today: ‘Tomorrow is the Master of Itself’, the APC CHIEFTAIN said “National budgets were delayed and distorted as these actors repeatedly sought to pad budgets with pet projects that would profit them.

“Even worse, they cut funds intended to prosper projects that would have benefitted the average person.

“After four years of their antics halting the progress of government, we should do all we can to prevent a repeat of their malign control of the National Assembly”.

In reaction to Tinubu’s claim, the Senate President wrote, “Saraki to Tinubu: Despite Your Smear Campaign and Hatred for Me, You Should, At Least, Dwell on Facts”.

Below is the full statement by Saraki in which he enunciated the working of the National Assembly, giving Tinubu a detailed break down on the budget issue.

“Saraki to Tinubu: Despite Your Smear Campaign and Hatred for Me, You Should, At Least, Dwell on Facts

Yesterday, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, released another of his now well expected quarterly vicious attack on the person of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the President of the Senate. In the statement, one could see the master of media spins getting ensnared in his own game as he struggled to extricate himself from the narratives about the contest for leadership positions in the Ninth National Assembly.

2. Since we have taken it for granted that Tinubu’s attack on Saraki every three months (Quarterly) will come as expected, we would just have ignored his statement but for the fact that it was filled with untruth, fallacies and misrepresentations. The statement was another effort to sell a concocted narrative about the Eighth National Assembly and its leadership.

3. First, he alleged that national budgets were delayed, distorted, padded, new projects introduced, funds for projects reduced, “to halt progress of government”. It is unfortunate that a man like Tinubu who had been in the Senate (though for 22 months and under a military regime) should have a better understanding of how the legislature works. The passage of budgets is definitely not the exclusive responsibility of the leadership of the Senate. Most of the work is done in the various committees. These committees are headed by Senators representing different parties. It is the level of co-operation between the committees and the MDAs in the timely defence of the budget proposals and the ability of the two chambers of the National Assembly to reconcile their figures that usually determine how soon the budget is passed. To put the blame of budget delay on the Senate President or Speaker can only be mischief, or at best, playing to the gallery.

4. It is also a known fact that any so-called delay in the passage of budgets under the Eighth National Assembly is traceable to the refusal of heads of MDAs to defend the budget proposals for their agencies on time. Last year, the President himself had to direct the Secretary to Federal Government to compel heads of MDAs to appear before the National Assembly committees following the report made to him by Dr. Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara. So, if a man like Tinubu is spreading this falsehood about budget passage and delay being deliberately orchestrated by the National Assembly leadership, one wonders whether he tries to even understand what happens in the federal legislature at all or is that the only thing that is of interest to him is. “jockeying and manoeuvring for influence”, as he puts it.

5. To further make the points here clear, we invite. Tinubu to look at the records of the time of submission of budgets and their passage since 2010 and he will see that with the exception of the 2013 budget which was passed on December 20, 2012, all the budgets have been passed between March and May of the same fiscal year. This should give him a better understanding of the fact that the date the Appropriations Bill is submitted to parliament and the readiness of the MDAs to defend the proposals submitted as well as timely agreement on the figures by both chambers of the National Assembly are the main determining factors in when the budget is eventually passed. So, Tinubu should see that the facts cannot support his spins and fake narrative.

6. In all the three budgets already passed by the National Assembly, we challenge Tinubu to make specific reference to where Dr. Saraki and the leadership of the National Assembly “sought to pad with pet projects” as. he alleged. Tinubu should be graceful enough to substantiate this allegation. We consider that allegation careless, irresponsible and callous. We therefore demand that he should withdraw it.

7. However, there is need to let him know that it is the constitutional responsibility of the National Assembly to review the proposals sent by the executive and where it deems necessary, it is within the power of the legislature to make changes. A good example, is the decision by the National Assembly to include in the 2018 budget the one percent of the total budget, amounting to N33 billion, as allocation for Universal Health Coverage as provided by an extant law, which had been hitherto observed in the breach. Is this what Tinubu considers as budget padding? And this was a decision which was praised across the world as a real benefit to ordinary people across the country.

8. Tinubu also claimed that the Senate leadership “stymied APC legislative initiatives while attempting to hoist noxious reactionary and self interested legislation on the nation”. We wonder what these “legislative initiatives” are because in the four years of the Buhari administration, it has only forwarded 11 bills to the Senate, apart form the routine annual appropriations and supplementary budget proposals. Two of these bills, the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Bill and the National Minimum Wage Bill, have been passed. One of the bills, the Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Act (amendment) Bill was withdrawn by the executive following the disagreement between the Attorney General and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Also, another one, the National Water Resources Bill was rejected because it infringed on the rights of states to develop their water resources. The remaining seven which are the National Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Establishment Bill, Federal Institute of Industrial Research for the Development of Micro, Small and Large Industries Bills, the Suppression of Piracy Bill, Communications Service Tax Bill, 2015; Federal Institute of Industrial Research Bill, 2017; Raw Materials Research and Development Council (Repeal and Re-enactment Bill 2018; Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (Establishment etc) Bill, 2018 — are at various stages of passage.

9. As a leader of the Eighth National Assembly, Dr. Saraki is proud that under his watch, the Senate has surpassed the records of all previous Senates in the number of bills passed, the significance of these bills to the revival of the economy, the fight against insecurity and corruption, improvement in the provision of health service and the education sector, as well as better social service delivery. to the generality of the people. The bills passed, motions moved, interventions made and frequent engagement with the people were all directed towards addressing the day to day issues that affect the lives of the ordinary Nigerians. This Senate has passed 282 bills (the highest any Senate had passed is 129 bills recorded by the 5th Senate), among which is the Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters Act, Public Procurement Act (amendment) Bill, Petroleum Industry Governance Bill, Electoral Act (amendment) Bill, Police Reform Bill, Police Trust Fund Bill, Nigeria Railways Authority Bill, Company and Allied Matters Act (amendment) Bill, Secured Credit Transactions Act, Whistleblowers Protection Bill, constitution amendment bills, Discrimination Against Persons With Disability Bill, Electronic Transaction Bill, Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, North East Development Commission (NEDC) Act, Witness Protection Programme Bill, Credit Bureau Reporting Bill, s*xual Harassment in Tertiary Educational Institution Bill and Compulsory Treatment and Care of Victims of Gunshots Bill, National Financial Intelligence Agency Act, Federal Audit Services Commission Bill, among others. It will be good to know which of these Bills Tinubu believes is “self interested” and not in the interest of Nigerians.

10. We will like to point the attention of Mr. Tinubu to the fact that most of the bills listed above got international and national endorsement from stakeholders who lauded the Senate for the move. For example, the Financial Intelligence Database Agency (Ultrascan) commended the Senate for passing the NFIU Act which enabled the country to be re-admitted into the Egmont Group. Also, the Nigerian Police leadership have praised the Senate for passing the Police Reforms Bill and the Police Trust Fund Bill. Again, when the National Assembly in the 2018 budget gave effect to the law allowing one percent of the budget to be devoted to Primary Health Care Delivery, it got kudos from Bill Gates, Bono, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of WHO, and various national groups who believe the move would bring health care delivery to the poor people across the country. The passage of the UBEC Act (amendment) Bill was praised by Pakistani child education campaigner and youngest Nobel Laureate, Yousafzai Malala. When the PIGB was passed, APC led by Tinubu, National Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), among others, hailed the Senate for a good job. Even, the World Bank commended the National Assembly for the passage of the Company and Allied Matters Act and Secured Transactions in Movable Assets and Credit Bureau Reporting Act. Of course, all these initiatives will be ignored by a man who is still sulking because his vow in 2015 that Saraki and Dogara will never lead the National Assembly did not materialize.

11. Tinubu and his mob have been sponsoring the narratives in the media that the emergence of the present leadership of the National Assembly was a mistake. We hereby submit that Dr. Saraki and other leaders of the National Assembly were democratically elected by their colleagues. And it is because they are the choice of their colleagues that they have remained in office for the past 46 months, despite all the plots hatched by anti-democratic, reactionary and fascist elements pretending to be ‘progressives’. In fact, Tinubu should know that if there was any mistake made on June 9, 2015, it was the miscalculation by himself and his small cabal in the APC who felt they could decide for the Senators-elect and House of Representatives Members-elect. When they failed after their grand-standing that they could always get whatever they desired, they resorted to undermining the institution of the legislature by waging a campaign of calumny against the law making body. It is now clear that those who took Senators away from the chambers contrary to the directive contained in the proclamation signed by President Muhammadu Buhari on June 9, 2015 are ‘mistake personified’. It is obvious that if they repeat that arrogance during the inauguration of the Ninth National Assembly, they will fail again because Nigeria is greater than them. The institution of the legislature is bigger than the over-bloated egos of these power mongers and dirty schemers.

12. Let us repeat again that we know that a Machiavellian politician like Tinubu will forever agonize over his erroneous belief that Dr. Saraki frustrated his ambition from becoming running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari through a Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2015. In his usual cavalier manner, he will stop at nothing to punish Saraki for that. We know that this attack is not about the interest of the nation or that of President Muhammadu Buhari. It is about his 2023 ambition and it is obvious in the statement as he struggled to explain this away.

13. However, Tinubu should leave Dr. Saraki out of his schemes and manipulations towards 2023. It is obvious his arbitrary and tactless interference in the process for the emergence of the leadership of the Ninth Assembly is already falling through. The frustration from this experience might have been responsible for this needless and baseless outbursts. Our only advice for him is that if he is interested in the stability of the National Assembly, he should allow the members to elect their leadership in consultations with the party leadership. He should stop treating the legislators like hapless pupils receiving orders from a cane-wielding headmaster. A situation where he, Tinubu, is dictating to elected legislators and ordering them to either comply with his directives or get out of the party will not augur well for the legislature in the next dispensation. History should have thought him that only a leadership that truly enjoys the support of members can help the President and his administration to achieve their objectives. It is a good development that the candidates for the various positions are already reaching out to their colleagues and forging alliances. We can see that after he realized that he has misfired, he is trying to retrace his steps and in his usual devious manner, he is looking for scapegoats. We advise him to leave Dr. Saraki out of his manipulations and “jockeying and maneuvering for influence and power”, as he termed it.

14. The Eighth Senate has done very well and will leave a good legacy. Despite all the underhanded tactics to undermine the legislature by outsiders and the public posturing, members have always worked as a team on critical issues that benefit our nation. That is why hitherto unachievable legislations like the PIGB, Police Reform Act and other bills or amendments to existing laws were passed with ease because the members and the leadership know that they are elected as Senators of the Federal Republic not as party representives.

15. Tinubu should know that while we await his attack for the next quarter, we can only advise him to stay on facts.

A bus fell 200 meters into a ravine, leaving 25 people dead after a collision involving two trucks, Bolivian police said on Monday.

The bus was attempting to overtake a truck on Sunday night when it crashed head-on into another to the north of La Paz, police chief Yuri Calderon said.

“That’s why the vehicle lost control and went over the cliff (falling) 200 meters” said Calderon, who initially gave a death toll of 17.

Highway patrol chief Fernando Rojas, cited by Fides news agency, revised that number soon afterward.

“We’re recovering the bodies, we’re talking now about 25 confirmed dead and 24 injured, who have been transferred to various hospitals,” said Rojas.

Bolivia’s President Evo Morales, who is visiting Argentina, pleaded on Twitter for bus drivers to take more care.

“Very sad about the terrible accident that happened on the La Paz-Yungas road,” he wrote.

“Our condolences to the relatives of the deceased. To our brother drivers we ask you to always be very careful; taking care of life is the most important thing.”

Calderon said firefighters were working at the scene.

Rescuers descended the precipice on a rope and brought up the victims and survivors one by one, television images on the Unitel channel showed.

The destroyed bus could be seen at the bottom of the ravine.

The bus, operated by Totai, was traveling north from La Paz, the administrative capital, to the Amazon town of Rurrenabaque.

The death toll makes this the most deadly bus accident this year in a country that has a sorry record for highway safety.

In January, 22 people died when two buses collided on the road between the southern regions of Oruro and Potosi.

The very next day, 12 people died after a bus careered over a cliff edge near the south-central city of Sucre, the historic capital of Bolivia and seat of the supreme court.

And in February, 24 people died in an accident between a bus and a truck in Oruro.

The South-South Governors may have resolved to intervene in the resignation saga of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The Governors has plans to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari with the view of persuading him to accept Onnoghen’s resignation letter.

Buhari is yet to act on the letter or the recommendation of the National Judicial Council, NJC, that the CJN be compulsorily retired.

Onnoghen turned in his letter 24 hours after the NJC met and decided that he had to go having lost the moral authority to continue as CJN with the litany of allegations bordering on misconduct against him.

The majority of the South-South Governors have bought the idea of intervening in the Onnoghen matter.

New Minimum Wage Must Be Implemented Immediately – NLCBy Mod - 1 minute ago - [ Update ]

The Nigerian labour congress (NLC) has insisted that state governments must be prepared to begin the payment of the new minimum wage of N30,000 immediately adding that debtor states would not be given any relief.

This comes after the new minimum wage was recently signed into law by Presisdent Buhari after several months of negotiations between the government and labour union leaders.

The Trade Union Congress Chairman, Bobboi Kaigama made known the position of labour in an interview with Punch in Abuja on Saturday where he said the inability of the state governments to pay salaries was because of mismanagement of resources at their disposal.

The law must be respected whether you are in the public or private sector. “The minimum wage is effective from the day that President Muhammadu Buhari signed it into law.

State Governors owing salaries is not an excuse not to pay the new minimum wage. They have not paid salaries to their workers becauseof their inabilities to manage the resources in their possession.

“They play politics with the resources. Before elections, some of them approached banks and borrowed billions of naira. After elections, they borrowed again to settle part of the outstanding salaries to workers in their states.

There will be no relief in any form for any state government; they must all pay the new minimum wage. “We will pursue it one after the other.

We commend states that have come out to say that they are going to pay the new wage. We expect other states to come out and say the same. If they don’t, we will go after them.”

Abdulrasheed Maina, Wanted for Over N2 Billion Pension Fraud, Visits Nigeria Regularly Without being Arrested.

Abdulrasheed Maina, is the embattled former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, declared wanted by the EFCC for his alleged involvement in over N2 billion Pensions Biometric Scam in the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Earlier this year, Justice Folasade Giwa Ogunbanjo of Federal High Court in Abuja, issued a judgement restraining EFCC from declaring the Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abudulrasheed Maina, wanted, and she also gave an order of perpetual injunction, restraining the EFCC and its affiliates or related bodies from further declaring Maina wanted in relation to the issue of the pension scam.

In response to the Judgement then, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) appealed against the judgement of the Federal High Court, but its now over two months and there has not been any new judgement on the case. As at the time of writing, the notice declaring Maina wanted is still on EFCC Website.

There are also reports that Abudulrasheed Maina may have been pardoned by the Federal Government and that's why there has not been any update of the pension fraud case against him.

Abudulrasheed Maina, has now been visiting Nigeria more regularly than before because his name has probably been removed from the watch list by security agencies at the nation’s international airports.

Abudulrasheed Maina has always been visiting Nigeria.

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission added Maina to its wanted list on its website on 06 November 2015 and subsequently Maina was placed on the International Police wanted list.

Maina subsequently met with the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), in Dubai in 2016 during which he was reportedly assured of his safety in Nigeria.

Maina then visited Nigeria and resumed at the Ministry of Interior in 2017 where he was promoted to the position of Deputy Director, Human Resources Department, without sitting for the mandatory promotion examination.

After Maina’s controversial reinstatement and promotion in the Federal Civil Service, the Senate set up and Adhoc Committee to Investigate the controversial reinstatement and promotion of Maina. The Adhoc Committee has since then submitted its finding to the Senate but there has not been any pronouncement by the Senate on the issue.

President Buhari in late 2017 directed the immediate disengagement of Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina from the Federal Civil Service, but the order was not immediately carried out by the Federal Civil Service Commission, though there are now reports that Maina has stopped going to work at the interior ministry.

A female inmate of Afokang prison, Calabar, Cross River State capital, has given birth to twins, a boy and a girl.

DAILY POST gathered that the lady gave birth to the twins on Thursday at the Prison yard in Calabar.

An eyewitness said the commissioner for Health, Dr Inyang Archibong received a distress call from the prison authorities about an inmate with complicated labour issues.

She said that the Commissioner and her team immediately swung into action to provide health services to the inmate

When DAILY POST visited the prisons on Sunday, the workers refused to disclose the identity of the inmate, saying it was classified as she was still an inmate.

An officer, who pleaded anonymity, said the lady was currently receiving treatment in a medical facility in Calabar.

The workers also declined giving information on when the inmate was brought in and the jail term she was serving.

When contacted on phone on Sunday, the Cross River State Commissioner for Health, Dr Inyang Asibong said the state government has taken over the management of the babies.

“Gov. Ben Ayade has donated N1 million and other gift items to the management of the General Hospital Calabar for the upkeep of the prison inmate who gave birth to twins at the hospital on Thursday April 18,” she said.

She added that the gesture was a special Easter gift to the mother of the twins and noted that in the spirit of the Easter season, `the beautiful babies deserve love and care’.

“In line with Governor Ayade’s welfare policy and love for children, the twins were named after him and his wife, Ben and Linda Ayade.

“Right now, the mother of the twins is not with us because we had to refer her to a higher facility for further medical attention. But she had a successful Caesarean Section.

“We have these two beautiful babies here with us. We will be following them up regularly and had donated a N1million cash and special gift to the General Hospital to help in the management of these children until the mother is well, safe and sound.

“Further, we are going to have discussions with the prison authority to know the next step and what to do. But as we speak, the state government is handling the care of the children because we care and we are in the season of Easter.

“The governor has executive powers; we are going to work with our social welfare unit to try and see the extent of the crime and know if the mother can be pardoned because of these two beautiful children,” she said.

When I was a child, I was made to drink some herbal medicines of which many have terrible tastes and smells.

That got me thinking about the cup Jesus Christ have to drink on the CROSS OF CALVARY

2. SUFFERING
He looked again and saw an unusual suffering and torture that will be done out on Him Luke 17:25
He discovered in that cup that sin has a price Rom 6:23
That someone must pay

3. SACRIFICE
He saw Himself as the sacrificial lamb.
He saw the messy and gory picture of what is going to happen to Him as the one to be slayed for the sacrifice

For the first time in His LIFE God turned His back on Jesus Christ when God saw the gory sight of Jesus Christ covered with the messy sins of the world

But
He looked again and saw

THE STORY OF JESUS OF OYINBO (JESU OYINBO) SELF-ACCLAIMED CHRIST

Read the fascinating story of Jesus of Oyingbo, a self-acclaimed saviour, his empire and how he died in 1988.

- A self-acclaimed Jesus, Jesu Oyingbo, made history in Lagos between the 1970s and 1980s

- He acquired converts to his church, wealth and wives, some of whom he acquired very unlawfully

- He claimed he was the coming Christ, drew a lot of people to himself but died miserably

- Following his death, his ministry, family and all that called his name were scattered and abandoned

“I am He. I am Jesus Christ, the very one whose second coming was foretold in the New Testament. I have come, and those who believe in me will have an everlasting life and joy. I am the missing of the trinity. I have come to prepare the faithful for the judgment day.”

It was this declaration made in June 1959 that officially marked the transformation of 43-year-old Immanuel Olufunmilayo Odumosu to Jesu Oyingbo. It was on the basis of the convincing and convicting declaration that he set up a group headquartered in Oyingbo suburbs of Lagos state.

It did not take him time to draw to himself a crowd of people who were interested in his supposed supernatural personality. This group of loyalists trooped to his enclave which he called the Universal College of Regeneration (UCR), believing in totality in his larger than life image he created.

Perhaps his background in the carpentry vocation with his uncle, which is similar to what Jesus Christ had with his foster father Joseph, led them to believe in the genuineness of the Ijebu-Ode born Immanuel proclamation. On his own part, he claimed that his declaration was a result of a divine revelation straight from the chambers of heaven.

He claimed that having no formal education, when he suddenly received insight into the secret meanings of the Bible, as well as the power to perform miracles, “save people from their earthly worries, comfort and redeem them,” he knew that he was the second coming of Jesus Christ, the “I AM.” He emphasised that he did not need to be a Jew before he could be Jesus, since he and his followers were simply Jews in dispersion.

Oyingbo, being a bubbling municipal area in the Lagos which was in itself the capital of commercial activities in the country, his activities drew attention to Lagos in the way ants are drawn to sugar. In no time, the country was awash with tales about the man who had declared himself to be the living reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

However, his pattern of apostleship was distinctly different from the Bible records of Jesus Christ or any of his apostles. First of all, his mode of conversion involved flogging the new convert nine strokes of the cane —a cane which many said he inherited from his grandfather. He described the strokes being given to them as the baptism which they needed to become a part of the flock under his care.

Also, all his members were brought under the communal enclave. The baptism haven been done, these converts went back to their families, packed their belongings, forsook the world and followed him. Despite attempts by different families to hold him responsible for such actions, he always came out of the police cases clean.

These members then formed not only his congregation, but also his workforce, as he was what one might describe as a “Pastorpreneur” owning a printing outfit, a bakery, restaurant, barbing salon, a construction company, real estate development and other business outfit within his community.

He was very particular when he stated clearly that his wealth was not a result of offerings from his flock, but income from the businesses, even though he sometimes received gifts from them despite the fringe benefits which he considered his entitlement as “their Redeemer.” One of these fringe benefits was the fact that he had unlimited access to any of the wives of the men in his flock, and could choose to do with them whatsoever he pleased.

In this light, there was an occasion when he married a man’s wife in order to punish him for his errant behaviours. On another occasion, he handed over the wife of an unruly member to other men in the flock. Not to mention that at his will, he could choose to call any of the women who pleased him to satisfy his needs at any time.

Notwithstanding any of these, he married a large number of wives ranging somewhere between 30 and 80. The real number of his wives was not possible to determine, as the communal lifestyle adopted where any members’ wives could be found in acting capacity.

In June 1959, as at which time he already had seven wives, when he was asked about his polygamous intentions, he said: “I have not finished with wives yet. I am going to marry more. To save the faithful, I must behave like one of themselves. I must marry more women, for are they not the sheep and I the shepherd?”

Since he had unquestioned s*xual privileges over the wives of any and every of his member, being his divine benefit for leading them out of darkness to the light, he must have been faithfully tending the flock in his own unique way.

However, most official reports place the figure of his personal wives somewhere around 34, about three of whom were his biological daughters. The number of his children was also impossible to pin down since some of the members of his enclave went as far as adopting Odumosu as their surname, but about 80 were officially listed and recognised.

Most of his children were sheltered and protected within the enclave, and did not even get formal education except for a few whose mothers took charge of it. However, they enjoyed other privileges like cars and drivers at their disposal to move around as well as financial benefits.

Out of this number, it was gathered that not all accepted the religion or mode of worship and a few even left the community as they refused to be coerced into adopting a religion they were not comfortable with. One of his daughters, Bukola Immanuel Odumosu, a graduate of Economics from Lagos state university stated bluntly that even though he was clearly her father, she had doubt about him being her saviour.

Interestingly, he was also said to be practising a unique religion which blended Christianity, Islam, African traditional religions and even paganism. He also blended it with the profiteering motive of his business outfits. With about 700 followers, he had more than enough work force for his businesses.

On a personal level, he was described by neighbours, friends and even his children as a lively, nice and humorous man who was friendly with all, and never got tired of trying to convert them. Most of his neighbours said the only issue they had was the noise caused by their activities from the early hours of the morning, even though they could not complain.

He, however, entertained them in the evenings by projecting movies for people to gather and watch, creating a sort of cinema-like experience for them. Even though he later relocated to Maryland, the name Jesu Oyingbo stuck, having been where he started.

There is even a Yoruba song that acknowledged his divinity claim despite not quite accepting of the claim which goes thus: Emi o mo Jesu Oyingbo, Emi o mo Jesu Agege, Emi o mo Guru Maharaji, Jesu ti mo mo l'apata ayeraye!!!. Meaning; I don't know Jesus of Oyingbo, I don't know Jesus of Agege, I don't know Guru Maharaji, The Jesus that I know is the rock of ages! Most Lagosians who were born long after his death, most likely first heard the name through this song.

Notably, most of his buildings on Immanuel Street, Maryland had the inscriptions such as ‘’Merciful and Mighty,’’ “Prince of Peace” and ‘’Everlasting Father.” Some of them were also surrounded by statues of Christ, caterpillar tractors, sculptures of lions and mermaids with water spurting from their mouths, a situation which caused people to wonder exactly what his religion was about.

He justified his liberal and abundant life by saying that while the first Jesus came to sacrifice and suffer, taking care of the cross-carrying and crucifixion, he, the second Jesus simply came to enjoy life. “I have come to enjoy my life, my friend.”

In his life, he amassed abundant wealth both in cash and kind. He had a vast estate and some of his listed properties included numbers 7A, 7B, 9, 10,11,13,14,15,17 Emmanuel Street, Maryland, Lagos; 37 Aliu Street via Felicia Ayodeji Street, off Ikorodu Road, Ketu, Lagos; 570/622/624 Ikorodu Road, Ketu, Mile 12, Lagos. It was also believed that he left properties and funds in the UK.

Unexpectedly, nature called and the supposedly immortal “Jesu Oyingbo” answered. He was gripped by the cold hands of death in 1988 when he was aged 73, and he died in an hospital outside the commune. Most of his followers did not believe that their messiah had died, and waited for him to resurrect after three days, and when he failed to, most of them got disheartened.

As could be expected from a husband to many, and father to dozens, he died without a will and a mini civil war began soon after concerning the sharing of the assets. It was wives against wives, children against children and even some long-term members of the movement who felt they were entitled to the properties joined in the battle.

The fight was both petty and dirty, and the struggle so immense that the eldest son, Olukayode Immanuel Odumosu took them to court. It was in the court that the issues were not only resolved, but a lot of improprieties which were being perpetrated within the enclave were brought to the light including the sharing of wives and incestful relationships.

In 1997, the children won and the disciples who were resident in Pa Odumosu’s Maryland spiritual enclave in Lagos were evicted. On 18th June 2014, Justice Ronke Harrison of the probate division of the Ikeja High Court ruled that all 167 children are entitled to share in the vast estate as beneficiaries in equal proportion.

It was at this point that the church of Jesu Oyingbo which already had a deep crack in its foundations following the death of their messiah, crumbled completely. With the left over members leaving, the 56- year-old Olukayode who had been trying to hold the pieces together left to find some freedom for himself.

But today, in an otherwise well-kept neighborhood in this city of eight million people, weeds have pushed through the cracks in the imperial courtyards and dust has settled inside the deserted buildings.

The enclave, which is now just made of deserted buildings has become a hideout for criminals and the few members left do not even have enough momentum to pull more into the fold. The empire which his son, in 1998, said would resurrect is yet to resurrect just as its founder failed to resurrect. In fact, we Nigerians await the second coming of Jesu Oyingbo.

A lot of people make decisions based on their present situation not knowing their present situation is not going to be their permanent situation. John 16 vs 13- make decisions based on where you are heading to and not where you are which will definitely change at anytime. Your present situation which seems stagnant is not going to be permanent because you belong to a greater place.
A young lady got married at age 23. She did not have a job before she got married. Her husband is rich but she doesn't want to stay at home and depend on her husband's money despite the fact that her husband doesn't want her to work with government but have a business of her own.
After some years she got a job which paid her well but she doesnt have time for the children. Her husband told her to leave the job because she doesn't have time for him again. She disagreed and said; she knows her husband is rich but he cannot pay her what the company is paying her monthly. The man kept quite for some months but he wasn't satisfied with her not spending time with him and the children.
One day, he thought of scaring her with his words, so he confronted her then said to her, you either choose between your job or me, she smiled with full confidence, she said her job. She went inside and packed all her belongings, as if she had been expecting the question before. Weeks passed by but her husband never heard from her, after three months it was a divorce letter the husband got.
After two years she was sacked. She went back to meet her husband, he rejected her, families rejected her because she didn't tell anyone before taking such step. After been unable to pay her house rent worth 350k yearly, She rented a room, unable to pay because of the location, she moved to a village where no one knows her. she's now selling fish in the village. She thought she had arrived with the money and salary she was collecting but she does not know what await her.
Pray before making decisions. Proverbs 16 vs 9, Proverbs 20 vs 24.Be very careful in making decisions. Don't make decisions based on the sweet and interesting time or base on the bad time in your life. The good time in your life might turn to worse time, then how do you cope when things changes, the bad time might turn to good time, how do you cope. Many have lost their life because they feel the good time is forever, so when the trials come, they cant withstand it, some even cant balance up their life when the bad times come for them, they end up poisoning themselves because they cant withstand the disgrace that befalls them. No one knows tomorrow except God, let him lead you rightly, be true to yourself by living rightly, don't do to others what you wont want them to do to you. Don't leave friends or families in their trails. Its not their permanent situation, they might also be the only one standing by you in your own trials tomorrow. You don't know what life will bring forth for you. When God blesses you, don't abandon people and think you cant need their help again because of the wealth you have, you don't know what will befall you tomorrow. Be kind to everyone you meet. No one knows tomorrow.

Despite owing workers' salaries for several months, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has assured that his government will pay the new minimum wage of N30,000, Suanu’s Blog reports.

The position of the Kogi State Government on the new minimum wage was made public by the Media and Publicity Coordinator to Governor Bello, Jide Orintunsin,.
He said:”It will be recalled that the state workforce had a 25 per cent salary increase recently.
“This has placed the state higher than the former minimum wage.
“Governor Sani Bello, early this year, had assured the state workforce of the new minimum wage at a special session he had with organised labour recently.
“He is committed to ensuring the welfare of the state workforce.”

A 27-year-old man identified as Alowale Salu, has revealed that he ambushed and used a gun to forcefully rape a lady to regain his respect.

According to PmExpress, the suspect revealed that he lives with the victim at Ojumoye, Ikorodu, Lagos, and had made several attempts to woo her to no avail. .

He said on several occasions the lady had disgraced him publicly and he decided to sleep with her to regain his respect. “On the day the incident happened, I went to one of my friends, Bayo, borrowed a gun and ambushed her on the road at night. .

Some ‘photogenic’ gorillas seemed more than ready to show off their good sides as they posed for amazing selfies with anti-poaching rangers.

The hilarious pictures were taken at the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and shared on the Facebook page for The Elite AntiPoaching Units And Combat Trackers.

According to their website, Virunga is Africa’s oldest national park. It is an UNESCO World Heritage site, home to exceptional wildlife, including the last of the world’s critically endangered mountain gorillas.

The park is protected by a team of over 600 rangers; some of who seem to have formed a tight bond with the park’s gorillas.

The idea of wireless chargers sound great right? The idea of charging smartphones wirelessly without having to carry wires around. Actually there are smartphones with these capabilities, in fact, there’s hardly any new high-end smartphone that doesn’t come with this functionality. The problem is, no one seems to be using it. So the big question is, why hasn’t it taken off?



Wireless charging is not exactly a new concept and has been around for many years now but while smartphones are evolving and becoming better every year, the wireless chargers have failed woefully to enjoy the same attention both from the phone makers and the users.



Recently Smartphone giant Apple admitted defeat when it cancelled a product they’ve been working on since 2017. The product is called “Air Power” and what it does is simple, just a wireless charging pad that is very flat and can charge all Apple devices wirelessly at the same time. That is, if the product had succeeded, Apple users would have been able to use it to charge their iPhone, Air Pods and Apple Watch all at the same time. Rather, the project failed and was cancelled completely because Apple engineers just couldn’t get it right!

We’ve seen a lot of folks who use expensive smartphones with wireless charging capabilities but rather prefer to use the good old plug-in chargers. In this post, TechCapon will take out time to explain why this product is such a big failure and why it is not impressing anyone even though the concept is great.



NUMBER ONE: YOU NEED A SMARTPHONE CASE THAT IS CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING WIRELESS CHARGING.


One of the ways to charge your phone wirelessly is by using a smartphone case charger and only a few people actually have it. Apple released its own wireless charging case late last year and users complained it doesn’t charge their batteries full before running out. Also, not every smartphone maker has such a product. I haven’t heard of Sony, LG and other high-end companies producing such for their buyers. So it’s not only expensive, but it’s also difficult to find in the market.

NUMBER TWO: WIRELESS CHARGERS ARE SLOWER THAN WIRED CHARGERS.

The weird thing about charging is that it uses something called electromagnetic induction. What that means is to transfer energy from one place (e.g wireless charge) to another (e.g smartphone). This concept uses two physical coils, the induction coil in the charger and the receiver coil in the phone. If the phone is placed on the charger but the two coils are not well aligned with each other the phone will not charge correctly.



This method of charging is much slower than plugging your phone using a wired charger which lets the power flow directly from the socket, through the wire and into the phone. Most wired chargers have a rating of 12W while most wireless chargers have a rating of between 7.5W to 10W. If you use a case or smartphone cover, the wireless charger may not even work at all until you remove the cover.



Some of may be wondering, what about wireless chargers with fast charge capabilities. Yeah, there are such wireless chargers no doubt but the thing is it only works with a phone from the same manufacturer. That means a Samsung wireless charger with fast charge will not work well with LG smartphone and vice versa. So if you don’t need a fast charger or you’re only charging your phone at night while you sleep, then a wireless charge might be okay for you.



NUMBER 3: YOU CAN’T USE YOUR PHONE CONVENIENTLY WHILE YOU’RE CHARGING IT WITH WIRELESS CHARGERS


Since a wireless charger requires you to place your phone on it for it to work, how are you going to use it while charging? The only way to use it is to remove it from the charger but it’s not that way with a wired charger. With a normal charger, you can answer a phone call, play games, use Instagram and so on while the phone is charging.

Yeah, it sounds funny but it’s true. Wireless chargers are not wireless because the also have wires of their own which you still have to plug into the sockets for them to work. The only thing wireless about it is eliminating the wire between your phone and the charger. So if you still need to plug it in every time you use it, why call it a wireless charger?



NUMBER 5: WIRELESS CHARGERS ARE SO EXPENSIVE

Despite the fact that these wireless chargers are not as effective as the normal chargers, they’re still very expensive. The low budget ones cost between $15 to $30 while the fancy ones cost between $60 to $100



Notwithstanding, despite all these disadvantages, that doesn’t stop the smartphone companies from producing smartphones with wireless charging capabilities. If wireless chargers are to impress users, the companies will have to figure out a way to make these chargers work wireless just like Wi-Fi. Yes, so that if the charger is plugged in, the smartphone can be anywhere in the room and still receive charging signals from it. A few companies like OSSIO are already working on a true wireless charging product.

They claim that their products can charge devices within a short range, just like how WIFI works. This sounds cool but none of these companies has released such charger yet. Its just talk and no action but we hope technology advance fast enough so we can get it.

So that’s it until the technology can improve to the extent where wireless chargers can work wirelessly like WIFI and charge smartphones from a safe distance, it remains a USELESS FEATURE IN ANY SMARTPHONE.

Yet, *Dubai is the fastest growing Science and ICT hub in the world. Yes, you read that correctly; in the world!*

As I watched the documentary and *marveled at the unbelievable leaps in education, innovation and infrastructure achieved within 50years,* I began to compare *the emirate with our own Emirate of Sokoto and Emirate of Kano back home.*

*Did you know that the Emirate of Dubai has singlehandedly launched 2 satellites into Space?*

Did you know that the last *launched spacecraft* had the *innovative signature of a Dubai teenage girl on it?*
